Baffle filters are effective and protect the fan and the duct from grease buildup. It doesn’t look like the steel panel in UC-PS38 traps any grease. Am I better off with PS18?
Hi Kev! The self cleaning on PS38 is very helpful for heavy duty home cooking! When using heavy grease or oils, the self clean feature helps keep your range hood looking new using auto steam clean. We recommend using this feature every couple of weeks depending on your cooking style.

Got the PS38 but had to return it because we have a rear wall vent, so got the PS18 instead.
