- BRAND NEW HARLEY FOR 23 - THE NIGHTSTER SPECIAL. It feels like the sportster rebranded, but with a slightly smaller motor. (1250 vs. 975)
Harley Davidson putting out a new Nightster and surprising me with some old time modern classic feel. Even back to the AMC days.
The engine is quirky, the seat slippy, but the bike does rev up and goes decent. Not sure how I like the rev-max revolution engine platform yet...

I have nearly 10,000 on mine already . Textile pants you will slide around on the seat ,even with the Sundowner seat . With Kevlar jeans on you don't slide around on the seat . great bike with lots of power

Great review. Just got my new 2024 Nightster (not the S) in billiard gray.
I noticed when you opened up the throttle on the track you we're still in normal mode. Put this bike in sport and it's a monster. I own the blue special and absolutely love it. Great review 👏.
seems the dark windshield can protect the display to be viewable in direct sunlight.
sport bikes with a 7" tft can see all data easily, With sun shades on; you only see the speed-- off that mini display
lovely but need forwrad controls is your 6'. legs ; knees upright to destroy my spine. 6" more forward to stretch out. These handlebars should have been on the sportster S; as standard !
1:18 I have a '23 nightster, and it doesn't sound like that.
Not bad for easy $$...need to have 100% blue jeans on to keep your butt on the seat of a Harley lol
I’ve lived with this bike for a year now, as others have said, you had the thing handicapped and not in sports mode.
Issues I have with the bike:
Too many buttons in a cramped area and they are not even back lit. For the price of the bike these NEED to be backlit.
The euro style turn signals take what little Harley feel this bike had and stomped on it, give us Harley style turn signal buttons.
The aftermarket support is horrid and Harley has this attitude that this bike was made to keep the environmentalist happy so don’t even try to modify it.
The fuel tank….
This bike needs a 4-5 gallon tank, its current tank is too small, also I’d appreciate it if we could have the fuel in its traditional space.
This segways into my final gripe:
The plastic.
The air box has a huge piece of plastic on it which is terrible to look at and the rest of the bike is very low quality and plasticy. This was not a well execution from Harley and they need to revisit this bike because it’s a blast to ride but it doesn’t have the DNA of Harley.
The whole idea of the “under seat” fuel tank is the lower the centre of gravity (the same as on my 2006 Street Rod). The setup really suits the bike and makes it super agile ….
The left side of this bike is hideous. And it sounds like and old Honda SOHC 450. They ruined the Sportster
