Quantum Leap reference, the nerd is body hopping through time, we can see him, but Superman still sees the old lady.
And the nerd is a recurring character in the series. His sketches always involve him wishing his life was like some pop culture franchise, then either he dreams about his life like that franchise or something happens that does make his life like that franchise.

Sorta. The set up is that he’s watching some crappy Christmas specials, when he ask why people don’t make more T.V. Specials for other holidays. He then goes to sleep only to dream that he is quantum leaping through other holiday scenarios. With him nearly being killed in all of them.
