I am not a Filipino, but have been involved with the Filipino Community in Victoria, Australia for over 30 years. My favourite song is "Bayan Ko", and I just find this version in English so wonderful, in its interpretation of the emotional loving and longing for the freedom and respect of the Filipino nation. Maricar-Regalado Punzal does the interpretation proud. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
Adrien Prophet I didn't know there was a Filipino community in Victoria that's awesome they're such wonderful people I've always loved the Philippines it's a very beautiful country it's so cool that you hang out with them send them my love.
mabuhay ka ! Freddie Aguilar made his own version of Bayan Ko since September 1979 and became a hit during those dark years of Martial Law. It was only after the assassination of the opposition leader Sen. Ninoy Aquino that this was used during his day -long funeral march , countless protest rallies till the world famous EDSA People Power that toppled a dictator Marcos. BUT a few months after the EDSA people Power I became apart of the movement called BAKASNAMIN for BAYAN KO As a SECOND NATIONAL ANTHEM .we were a handful but were trying to have it a second national anthem as this song was used and stirred the hearts of the nation after the murder of Sen. Benigno AQUINO IN AUGUST 21 1983 TO THE 3 DAY PEOPLE FEB 22-15 1986. we made a signature campaign and conducted symposiums. We were on TV and radio and an article at Manila Time Magazine October 1986 for some months but I don't know why some major members suddenly stopped . the brains behind it were fork singer and song writers Coritha Avelino and Erick Macabeo, others were young college instructors me but teaching at University of Santo Tomas, Josephine Aguilar, Flavio Maria "Bingo" Guerrero , the late Noel Pinto and three others
Napapa iyak ako.. 😢😢😢 Bat naging boom ang english version.. Ganda2 pa naman ng pag kakanta nya.. Pa ulit2 ko tong pinapanood.. Still watching 06/16/2018
I really love this song. I have the Filipino & English version shared in my facebook profile ro enable people to understand the lyrics. I'm far from my country Philippines as im residing now in Adelaide, South Australia. Playing this video takes away my being homesick & keeps me loving my beloved country, the PHILIPPINES!.
That was amazing your a wonderful singer you have the voice of an Angel and your very beautiful such a beautiful song and a beautiful country I love the Philippines.🇵🇭
It's the English translation from Filipino translation of nuestra patria. If it's translated directly from the original Spanish version, I am for sure it would mention the anti American sentiments.
can i have the soft copy of the lyrics? i can just find the lyrics of this version in google. please. i badly need it. for school purposes. thank you! :)

Sa tuwing nahaharap ang Pilipinas sa matinding pagsubok lagi ko itong pinakikinggan dahil ramdam ko na kaya nating lampasan ang lahat ng mga ito.

Sublime and magnificent. Great job at minting the lyrics
May be born in America but still proud to be Filipino
Nice Video. I was there to visit. I loved it. The only reason I returned home was lack of jobs there for foreigners.
Splendid rendition. Could not have done it better myself.

La traducción es incorrecta: omite citar la opresión estadounidense: "... y es por eso que el anglosajón, con vil traición la subyuga...".
:)
