Because it is, essentially, meant for musicians.
And not just any musicians, but ones who appreciate the kind of polished jazz-funk that Cory & Co. play. If you aren't interested in music as a craft, and in instrumental skill as central to that, it'll have very limited appeal for you. Even then, if you're, say, a country guitarist or classical oboist or heavy metal drummer, it may not float your boat. Personally, I'm not too crazy about it - the music strikes me as conceptually easy, although requiring great ability to perform well; and Cory is a much better musician than comedian.

I get that and I don't just mean these wongnotes shows I mean across the whole range of what he uploads. When you have other quirky music channels like Davey etc doing so insanely well it's just a bit weird Cory has only 160k subs.

When Nate was talking about dynamics in jazz and how drummers help other musicians build their solo, the first thing that came to mind was Cory Henry's Solo in Lingus, how Larnell Lewis really builds it with dynamicly going harder over time.

      Good point.
And Cory H. is so fantastic on that track, I'll admit that I'd never though of how well Larnell meshes with him.
Or, how Michael keeps the bottom solid - Michael may not win too many "best bass player" polls, but he can hold it together in the company of guys that do win polls, his note choice is first-rate, his musicality is up there with theirs, and he grins so hard his head almost falls off.

Pro drummer here....I have never seen such love and such deeeep understanding for drums by a guy like Cory. I'm absolutely floored by the talent this man has. He is so unbelievably creative and multi-talented. Could he be a film maker? My guess is YES. Is he a monster on guitar? Yes. Bass? Yes. Is he a master bandleader? Yes. Producer? Yes. Engineer? Yes. Song writer? Yes. Comedian? Yes. Philosopher? Yes. Yes yes yes...This guy is so freaking talented. I honestly don't know what he will do next but whatever the next level to his career is, he is ready. I want him to have massive success. I want him to have whatever his dreams are, to be realized. I am just so grateful that he is alive and healthy and will be around for a while. It seems like these guys who are this super talented always have some demons that end up cutting their careers and sometimes lives short and I feel truly blessed that he will be here making music for a long time!!

This is literally my favorite show. Amazing music, funny, educational, it's a complete package. I think it's just a matter of time before this blows up. I might be right, I might be Wong :)

That live band sounded so good. Whoever recorded and mixed this is a legend.

As an adult I don't remember ever having such a positive experience as this one: at the same time educational, tasteful and above all, fun. Kudos for Cory and all those amazing musicians. Greetings from Brazil!

Cory Wong: amazing musician, in a band with more amazing musicians, releasing original and wonderfully arranged music. Views ranging up to 100-200k views (still good).
Jake Paul: It's Everyday Bro, 290m views.
The world is broken. But I am sure glad it's broken with absolute legends like Cory, Vulfpeck, Wooten, and all the other many amazing musicians out there trying to keep us all afloat above the garbage! :)

Inspiring thanks ! Everybody talks about pocket-Nate nowadays. But I always had a special admiration for Nate with Dave Holland, what a cool style in a jazz setting, very original.
