The problem with a decision based on any criteria which was not part of the rules set out before the competition began is obvious: No matter what criteria you choose, it is unfair to the one who is not selected. I have my preference for which should have won, but you can't set new rules after a contest is begun (or completed). They both win, this time. Set more comprehensive rules before any future contests.
