I love how the majority of all them were absolutely huge hits, yet they get up from them almost instantly
i completely agree, but if you haven't noticed nearly every big nfl hit is a shoulder charge and a high tackle, just like nearly every hit in this video.
I always see big hits video's online titled something like "Greatest Rugby League Hits Of All Time" and after watching them I think to myself
'I see better hits than that every year!'.
You have made a video that puts most of the other big hits video's on TH-cam to shame, using only a single year.

As a curious Union fan I have a couple of questions, as the IRB have been cracking down on shoulder charges and lifting in the tackle in the interests of 'safety'.
1) How often do hits like these in the NRL result in injuries?
2) How many of these would be penalised during a game?
From a Union perspective I don't think a single one of these tackles would get away without at least a penalty, if not a yellow or red card and a ban.

The players are CHOOSING to play the game knowing full and well what can happen.
IF a player is hit in the head, the culprit is facing a lengthy suspension anyway, plus if they miss it will create a line break and the Coach will tear them a new one.
Players know this when they are out there; they are only ever going to do it if they are sure it is going to be safe, and effective.
Yeah sometimes there are mistakes.. and they are punished accordingly.
But removing it?

mate I watched all the games this year and only about 4 of these hits were put on report
I think you will find that in 99% of these shoulder charges the person on the receiving end gets back up and plays the ball. The NRL are just covering their asses! I do agree that we need to protect the players but I think you have as much of a chance of copping a head knock if you're a defending player and you go into a tackle with your head in the wrong place.

there were a couple of horrific knockouts from the shoulder charge this year and that was because they connected with the head. only those ones would have been penalised. its really a joke they banned them.

How can this be taken out of the game. It is a contact sport and these guys are conditioned for the heavy collisions. I know there only trying to protect the players but in my opinion they have made a mistake in removing the shoulder charge. I think most of the players would also agree with this.

there is nothing wrong with the shoulder charge, dallas johnson has been hit with so many a game i've lost count..... sure he doesnt remember much now but at least he is still showing up for training and playing the games.
