I followed your lead and made one of those compound-to-drill adapters to help when making a ER-32 collet chuck for my lathe, basically copying the one you made way back in the Get a Grip series. My Moore and Wright (dad's from the dockyard) case also rotted on the outside. I just hit it with scotchbrite and coated with a clear lacquer. Came out nicely.

Some of my drills have a screw on the trigger that you can limit the speed. That would be very useful for using the drill to drive the compound at a steady speed.
