Who is Ron Spomer
For 44 years I’ve had the good fortune to photograph and write about my passion - the outdoor life. Wild creatures and wild places have always stirred me - from the first flushing pheasant that frightened me out of my socks in grandpa’s cornfield to the last whitetail that dismissed me with a wag of its tail. In my attempts to connect with this natural wonder, to become an integral part of our ecosystem and capture a bit of its mystery, I’ve photographed, hiked, hunted, birded, and fished across much of this planet. I've seen the beauty that everyone should see, survived adventures that everyone should experience. I may not have climbed the highest mountains, canoed the wildest rivers, caught the largest fish or shot the biggest bucks, but I’ve tried. Perhaps you have, too. And that’s the essential thing. Being out there, an active participant in our outdoor world.

I'm with Ron, I had never heard of Mossberg until the mid to late '90s when my grandad bought me a Howa made Mossberg .308. Even then I didn't know what a Mossberg was. Everyone I hunted with carried either a Remington, Winchester or Browning.

Ron, you always have the Best guests! You definitely need to have Linda back on the show. Even if it's just to tell stories.
I don't know if this can happen, but, could she give us or set up a factory tour so we could see how the Mossberg rifles are made and the quality that goes into them....what do you think Ron?

Yes 90÷% of Michigan whitetails are shot under 100, maybe 150 yards. BUT.. I know several friends/hunters that have the area to shoot 300,400 or even 500 yards in some areas. Yes, a small percentage, but even I have a couple of stands I can reach 400. Yes, I have the equipment to effectively and ethically take game at that range, and yes, I practice at 350 often. I do agree that there is a point/distance it becomes unethical but that's to each hunters ability. Oh by the way Ron I have a few spots open along with a private room for you & your wife if you would like to join me on a northern Michigan whitetails this November! no charge and no promises other than a good time hunting safe & shooting straight, lol
