Selecting multiple or single entry Schengen visa would depend on your itinerary. However if they issue you a long term visa then they would anyway give it for multiple entry which was our case. We didn't explicitly ask for multiple entry in our Schengen visa application.

Yes, you both will have to have your own cover letter for Schengen visa. We also had to do the same. In case you both are attaching your own bank statements, it's not required to mention who will fund the trip. But in case if you are using any one of your statements then the other one needs to mention in their cover letter and add a sponsorship letter as well.

I received 2 successful Schengen Visas from Switzerland and then from Sweden, when I applied third time from Germany they refused Visa, I then reapplied to Poland, they too refused Visa. Now I have no clue what to do next.
That's unfortunate. Any sense why would they have rejected your Schengen application? Most common reason being you not showing enough proof of you coming back to India (employment proof) or financial support.
Assuming you already have kid's passport, you wouldn't need anything else other than birth certificate in the application form and mention of your travel in the cover letter!

It would be difficult in such case. Had happened with me once when I applied while between jobs and got rejection. Then I again applied with next job's offer showing that I'll come back and join the next company. This time they granted me a Schengen visa!

Iceland, Switzerland, Greece etc are good countries to apply for Schengen visa as they have low rejection rate. However, if you have all the documents & itinerary planned, it doesn't matter, you can apply to any embassy for your Schengen visa!

Usually you would be able to apply for renewal earlier than expiry date is when you've exhausted all the pages or your passport is damaged or there is change in your passport details (name, spouse etc). Else better to wait and renew it closer to expiry.

For Schengen visa, bank balance would depend on number of days spent in Europe. A general calculation is to have minimum of €100/night given hotels etc are prepaid. In general around 5L for 15days trip should be good enough.

One of the conditions for long term Schengen visa is that Passport should be valid for that duration. Since yours is expiring next year, seems difficult for a longer one. 😞

exactly he is just talking crap in a neat way .No rules charge , i am a travel agent. All my customers who were applied for their 2nd schengen visa got 2 years visa . This happened in 2022 and 2023.
In that case it would be a bit tricky. As you will have to show that you would come back to India. For e.g. if your parents/siblings are sponsoring your trip, you need to include sponsorship letter etc

Ek type ke documents staple kar sakte hai. No folder is needed. VFS guys will use their own folder to keep your documents!

You need to just buy Travel insurance for the duration of your planned itinerary! Minimum coverage of €50k is required!

Retired person applying for schengen visa, needs to submit the Retirement document along with financial proof (bank statement)! Rest of the documents remain the same!

For us, Schengen visa has 90 days in 2 years. So maximum we can stay is 90 days. Not sure about the blick period though.

You can have your itinerary in such a way that it shows you're staying more days in France and then you apply for Schengen visa from France embassy. Once you get the Schengen visa, you're free to go anywhere in Schengen area including Italy!
Im having a 5 year MULTI Visa issued in Jan 24. Type C, duration of stay 90 days. I'm not sure about the rules regarding the duration of stay. Can I go to Europe only for total of 90 days in the entire 5 years?? A five-year multiple-entry Schengen visa allows you to stay in the Schengen area for up to 90 days within a 180-day period, totaling 900 days over five years! However, you cannot stay for more than 90 days within a period of 180 days, and you must wait at least 90 days before entering the Schengen area again after spending 90 consecutive days in a Schengen country.

Usually you would be able to apply for renewal earlier than expiry date is when you've exhausted all the pages or your passport is damaged or there is change in your passport details (name, spouse etc). Else better to wait and renew it closer to expiry.

For Schengen visa, each person should have their own application. Hence different cover letter for you and your spouse. Format will be same, just the information would change as per the person.

In this case, you are eligible to get long term Schengen visa! You would have to get insurance only for the travel duration you're planning next.

Schengen Visa ka duration aapke trip pe depend karta hai. For e.g. agar aapne itinerary me 2 weeks ka plan dikhaya toh minimum 2 weeks ka visa milta hai.

If you have multiple entry Schengen visa then you can travel as many times however, you shouldn't exceed the total number of days allowed (90/180 days).

It doesn't matter from where you apply the Schengen visa! They would have your record of your previous travels and accordingly they would issue you long term Schengen visa! Just mention in your cover letter that you wish to get long term Schengen visa!

For Schengen visa, bank balance would depend on number of days spent in Europe. A general calculation is to have minimum of €100/night given hotels etc are prepaid. In general around 5L for 15days trip should be good enough.

Usually Schengen visa can be applied 6 months in advance from the travel date. Sonce you plan to visit in July25, apply for visa in Feb 25!

One of the conditions for long term Schengen visa is that Passport should be valid for that duration. Since yours is expiring next year, seems difficult for a longer one. 😞

As long as you can provide documentation that states that you are working out of India and will continue to do so, they will be fine! If you already have an assignment, add the documentary evidence of it. Rest process remains the same for Schengen visa!
