My dad was the same way! Growing up, setting the table for any meal even breakfast Daddy had to have a jar of Tabasco sauce and a jar of peppers. He loved hot stuff so when I married I bought a jar for my husband…nope he’s not a hot & spicy food eater, mild salsa is bout it. Thanks for the memories of my daddy.
It's amazing how many tobasco peppers you can get from one plant! I'm the only one in my family that likes hot sauce so I might grow one tobasco pepper plant this year to make a small batch of hot sauce! Thank you for the idea ☺️
My grandma used to can into whatever she could find. Never had issues with shelf life. However, before consuming anything we'd always do the smell and taste test. With hot sauce there's very little risk due to spicy, high acidic food
Michigan Marcia here. My husband loves tabasco sauce. I planted & harvested tabasco peppers last summer & waterbathed canned jars of sauce for him. I too had an allergic reaction to cooking it. Next time I will do outside with a fan running, lol. Thanks for the simple recipe. Love the bottles!!
😅thanks for sharing your recipe Nicole! I'm growing one bush for me and hubby. he likes it on everything including hah browns and eggs in the morning! keep the videos coming!
I'm 8 months late but glad I found this video. I love hiot sauces and tabasco and recently started gardening. I'm in the Tampa area so great growing weather. Awesome video ty!
Clearing of sinus’….. definitely! We dehydrated some habaneros, cayenne and jalapeños and we were all crying. That’s when we figured out to dehydrate outside! Ha ha Excited to try this one. What cute labels!
I absolutely love tobacco sauce and never (until now) considered making it and canning it before! What a great idea! I am going to try to grow this pepper and make (and can) my own sauce! Thank you for demonstrating how!
This was very interesting. I never thought of using peppers for anything other than old southern pepper sauce. Whole peppers in used coke bottles with heated vinegar and water poured in. Thank you!
We use a lot of hot pepper sauce here too! Looks amazing! I forget how much I put up last year, but it was an assorment of hot peppers, and pepper sauces!
I made cayenne hot sauce last year for the first time. I followed the recipe in the ball canning book. It was some powerful flavor and we loved it. I'm sure I will be making it again.
I am growing more hot peppers in the garden this year for the express purpose of fermenting hot sauce and making my own chili powder. I have never thought to can the hot sauce in those hot sauce bottles. Thanks for the idea.
My first time seeing your videos thank you for sharing your knowledge with me I appreciate your time plus it’s even better when I learn something thank you so very much many blessings from California💜😉
You made this look so easy! My husband loves hot sauce, we grow a lot of peppers each year. We may need to try this recipe. I love the labels you put on the jars ❤️❤️

One of my earliest dehydrating mistakes. Learned the hard way to put the dehydrator on the back porch for peppers, onions, and such.
