To me this is the type of video you do. Though I am a Disney History Buff myself and was a Disney Imagineer, life is more than Disney. The way you document your adventures is a real view of the countries and places you go. It's not a high budget History Channel show. Though that is fine and I watch the History Channel too, you tend to bring it to a personal level. Thank you very much. Keep up the good work and safe travels. Hopefully, I can meet up with you in Disneyland as I go very often since I live close by. Thanks again Chris. Oh, and thanks Amanda and Miles for allowing us to share time with your husband/dad. Oh, another idea.....lol...I have lots....it would be cool to have Miles do a short review of his favorite ride or adventure. Thanks again....Phil
I know your focus is on theme parks, and specifically Disney, but I wouldn't mind seeing more videos like this. I enjoyed it. Give Rick Steves some competition. :)
Chris you might think not many people are watching these videos, but your explanation and narration are stellar. I got to know PPP from my love of all things Disney, but you are truly gifted and talented at what you do….maybe producing documentaries are in your future??? Thank you for making the world a better place and making me smile every day. Hugs to you, Amanda, and Miles. ❤❤❤
I am enjoying this series so much, and Strasbourg is absolutely beautiful! Love the architecture! I think it`s so wonderful that you travel like this, and what an amazing education for Miles. It`s so good for kids to learn different cultures; as you said one isn`t better than the other; just different. If more people had that attitude the world would be a better place! Love from Canada.
"There's no wrong culture, just different", so true Chris!!!
I had a very dear friend who was an enormous Francophile and spent a lot of time in France. One of his favorite comparisons was, “France is a country of one religion and a thousand cheeses. America is a country of a thousand religions and one cheese.”
That Church is absolutely stunning!
Chris, although this may not be the usual type of video you post, it shows you as a renaissance man, of sorts. Always polite, respectful, and observant of others and their culture. Safe travels to all 3 of you. I'm enjoying the trip :)
Wow!!! That was AWESOME!!!!! If "this" isn't the "kind of videos" you do, then PLEASE DO MORE!!!! We LOVE these adventures of yours, and let's be honest --> MANY of us are "living vicariously" through you/your family/these videos! Many of us will never get to where you go, for ALL of the reasons you mentioned and more! This was truly a blessing to see. And I loved the literal "manpower pulley" you showed us, along with the view! 100% agree with you about travel: we always feel safe, partly because we keep personal belongings belt UNDER our clothes! And yes, when somewhere else, TRY new things and recognize it's not "our" way of doing things so best not to impose OUR way! Love to you all, and may you continue to have safe travels and journeys! Look forward to the rest of your 2024 European Theme park tour!
I lived in Strasbourg for 2 months. I loved the people, the food, and the history. I'm glad you got to see that beautiful city!
I really enjoyed seeing this! Thank you for sharing!
well this is awesome,wonderful,amazing, interesting,wow,epic.
My Family loves all of the videos that you do, they are always appreciated and
it lifts our spirits up thank you.
I love your varied videos! We also watch Walking Alice who just walks through places around the world with no talking and it is fun to be on the walk.
Nice to see you traveling through Europe in this series!
You are also amazing!!
I am Dutch living in France, first you go to my home park Efteling, and now you go to Strasbourg which is 25 minutes away from where I live.
Stop following me LOL Great videos of your trip, I love it!
Captain Jack! 14:12 😃 What an amazing place. Thank you for this video. Love it 😀
Chris, you’re a natural Rick Steves. 🙂
I really appreciate you sharing your travels. Im so impressed with what a great traveler Miles is! He is a real trooper!! Hats off to great parents raising a great little boy!
I love seeing new places. Thank you for sharing these beautiful places with us.
I absolutely love all of your videos like this! It feels like we're all walking around with you and it is so calming and fun! I feel like I learn something new from every video!
I ALWAYS appreciate seeing a little bit of your day no matter what it is you're doing. Thank you for sharing so much of this trip with us :) Safe travels!
Totally my kind of vibe. Quiet, and the only business comes from people going on a relaxing stroll.
I so loved walking around Strasbourg with you. This is a city I would probably never visit, but to see it has opened my eyes to another opportunity to visit when I eventually make it to France. Thank you, Chris! Strasbourg is beautiful!!!
Strasbourg is so picturesque!!! Especially at Christmas time when they have the Christmas markets. Definitely recommend!
I like the city tour videos too. It’s cool to see in fact would have liked to see you on the train and in the beautiful cathedral
The architecture on that cathedral is mind-blowing. It is so unbelievably beautiful. I wish we had more architecture like that in the states.
What a cool town. Thank you for sharing it with us
We need a positivity and affirmation supercut. Some people out there are going through a lot, and thirty minutes to an hour of hearing those words could be a big help.
Went to Christmas market in Strasbourg in Dec 2022. Beautiful city.
Great video. Love the architecture. Miles is one lucky son to have you and Amanda for parents. He will be so worldly when he grows up. 😊
Your travel videos are great! Just as good as your Disney videos, and makes me want to travel! Thank you Chris, Amanda and Miles for sharing your journeys with us.
Hi Chris. I love when you do videos like this. Everything comes across so natural, it feels we are there with you, just talking with friends (PPP Fam). That is one of many reasons why you are amazing. Hopefully you, Amanda and Miles are enjoying the trip. Stay Safe and keep having Fun on your Adventures. 👋🏻
Have been there too! Nice atmosphere and the Cathedral is amazing from the outside. And of course the Clocks shops near by
The many adventures of Provost Park Pass, Thanks for sharing
You’re basically doing the same content of education and walking us through places we yearn to travel to! So keep making all the types of videos, we will constantly eat these up! Thanks TH-cam dad! We appreciate you and your adorable family!!!☺️🥳☁️
Enjoying sharing your adventures so much, thank you for taking us along! 🤗
As a certified person living in a place. Doing "authentic" things that locals do consist of getting groceries, going to the handful of restaurants I like, going to the movies or a park, or just stay in and watch a tv show or movie.
Wow, that was high! Nice view, thanks for sharing.
They close 4-6 to have dinner times with their own families👍Very common in European culture❤️
These have been the BEST videos. Many thanks. You are taking me to new AND familiar places.
Loving these videos! So educational and mesmerizing. I don't think I'll ever make these types of trips. Thank you for sharing your adventures. Please keep sharing! Any content you share is wonderful 🤗
As someone who has only ever left the country for the first time very recently I’m loving these videos. It helps me as I look into other potential places to travel internationally. There’s a good chance I’ll be able to go to Disneyland Paris sometime soon!
I also have very bad travel anxiety and seeing these places ahead of time in videos helps me a ton! Thank you!! 😊
Wow! The cathedral is majestic 😃
I love walking through foreign cities. I watch a lot of "walking" TH-camrs that do just that! So yes, I loved this video and enjoyed hearing your thoughts too! 😀
I love your summer touring. People here, should be honored and believe we too place a big part of these adventures. The patron people and subscribers make this content possible. So everyone gets a chance to see the world through your lenses. It’s simply wonderful. Thank you so much. I’ve traveled through Europe myself. But haven’t seen places you’re sharing with us. I’m so happy. 👍❤️ I wonder if you’re going to Tivoli Gardens. I’ve been. It’s in Copenhagen. I’m serious, it’s the amusement park Walt Disney got the spark ( the dream) to invent Disneyland. Again thank you. I can’t wait to see if “grown up” miles continues to hold travel enthusiast as his parents set the mark in these early years.❤️
Don't forget to shut the door in the tower.
Great video! Good to see the sorts of environments that the parks are in.
I went to Strasbourg in 2019 right before the pandemic. I loved it so much!!! It is so beautiful!!! It was fun to watch your video and have all those memories!!! Thank you!!
CHRIS, the buildings are just amazing. I love the architecture. Thanks for sharing. Good luck and climbing all those stairs by the end of this trip you’re gonna be physically fit 😄. As usual CHRIS thanks for the encouraging words. You don’t know what that means to me and others.❤️
You got me with the pep talk, i really needed that. Thank you.
Enjoy these a lot! Thank you for doing them and including us on these trips.
Thank you for this video Chris. Great video. People need to not worry about what is non touristy vs touristy. Both can be amazing. You do you ❤
Chris I love your Disney/amusement park videos, but I also love your travel videos. I could not agree more with your travel philosophy ❤ and I love that you learn some facts and history to tell us, which I think shows a deep respect of the place and culture you are visiting. The other reason is your demeanour is just so personable, and you are so natural in your presentation. Just excellent all round. ❤❤ it!!
So nice that you had the opportunity to visit Strassbourg with Amanda and Miles. Actually, the Disney animators used that region for inspiration for movies like Beauty & the Beast (the towns of Eguisheim and Colmar south from Strassbourg are direct inspirations).
To give you a heads up about Parc Astérix:
This theme park is based on the highly popular comic-strips of Astérix by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo. The comic is about a tiny village in Gaul (the name of France in ancient times) that successfully resists against the Roman occupation under Julius Caesar. The heroes of the series are warrior Astérix and his friend Obélix (who sells huge stones called menhirs). The village can resist thanks to the magic potion by its druid Panoramix that gives them invincible powers.
Many of the books deal with the Romans' new plans to conquer the village. Or how Astérix and Obélix help other tribes (in various countries) against the Romans. Usually, the comic has lots of references to current-day affairs, but is also in many ways accurate in depicting the Roman times. Part of the comic is the many puns, for instance in the names of the Gauls (all ending with -ix) or the Romans (ending with -us).
Parc Astérix opened its doors in 1989, three years before Disneyland Paris.
The Parc these days revolves about two themes: laughter (for the humor of the comic-strips) and heroism (show strength and courage like the Gauls). That’s why you’ll find many thrill rides in the park and lots of humorous details. The park now has clear zones that refer to specific adventures of Astérix, like the Roman area, the Gaulish village, Egypt, Greece and the Vikings.
An absolute must is to book the Gaulish Banquet (Banquet Gaulois). Every Astérix adventure in the comic-books ends up with a festive meal in the village. At Parc Astérix they close down the village in the evening for a special meal in the open air, with freshly prepared dishes and all typically French. It’s a lot of fun and a full experience with characters. Miles will love it.
Have wonderful time in Parc Astérix!
Loved this! Always do the stairs! So worth it❤❤❤❤.
This was awesome! Thank You! That Cathedral was HUGE and very beautiful. The architecture was just...wow! Look how the steps are worn down at 17:55 from all the people going up and down over the years. Amazing! And that dark house on the corner to the left at 6:33 reminded me of the Leaky Cauldron from Harry Potter.
I love these videos. I'm glad you are able to travel to Europe and bring us along with you. Thank you
When you signed off the first time I literally said WAIT i want to see the top of the cathedral ( obviously didn't read tag line) I enjoy that Amanda & Miles are always ready for whatever adventure - you bring such positivity and joy - even on bad travel days - anywhere you go we want to go too
Wow that place is magical. Loved the video thank you for sharing it with us. The cathedral is amazing ❤
I love the video!! Thank you for taking us along!
It was refreshing to see this video. Something a little different from theme parks is nice to see. I was in France last November and didn’t get to visit Strasbourg. It’s on my list for my next visit, I hope sooner than later. I totally agree with having the “when in Rome” mentality when traveling. Not only do you get to experience new things, but it shows you have respect for the local culture and people.
I have always wanted to visit Strasbourg. Thanks for sharring.
Thank you so much for doing these videos- we love them- exploring places with you through your eyes, is a lot of fun! Keep safe and have fun!
I love it!! I traveled all over the world in my early and mid 20's and my dad had always taught me to eat things the way they are supposed to be eaten first. So you know how it tastes and then you can adjust it after. And I took that advice into traveling and it changed my life. I tried the craziest stuff. And I don't regret it. Miss traveling internationally so much. Hope to do it again one day
Traveled around French countryside last year and found most villages have a carousel in the center of town. cute. I loved your description of the two different types of architecture there.
I am very much enjoying your videos from Europe and I love that you are sharing the non theme park parts of your trip. It is lovely to see you exploring different places. Please do more videos like this when you travel?
Chris, that Cathedral was designed and built in 1270’s by Erwin Von Steinbach. The most incredible of my families ancestors.
I am so glad you got here! It is such a beautiful city!! That Architecture style is called French Mansard. One of my favorite styles! Its also in a lot of buildings in Paris. I am happy you are there and sharing this city for us! ❤ Been loving your videos!
i love when you do travel videos. i may never get to travel to these places so i love to see them! Thank you so much! Hi to amanda and Miles too! 😊
I loved this video. Thank you for taking us along with you ❤. I couldn’t do all those stairs lol.
its got the point that video like this is all I have to make it one more week
Hello Chris! Thank you for your encouragement today. I am having major neck surgery on 7/3. So if I make it through this, I will not be able to travel anymore. Thank you and your family for what ya'll do. It makes things like this a little easier.
Strassbourg is such an amazing city. You should visit in Christmas. They have Christmas markets in all of their squares. It is sensory overload.
I look forward to traveling with you….thank you for sharing this with me.
How amazing. I love it!
Oh wow, that is one place I want to go to SO SO BAD, the Hunchback of Notre Dame had a huge influence on me and I hope one day, I get to go there. So many stairs but WORTH IT. I remember doing something like that in Tokyo, at Mount Fuji, took me a while to get up there but at the top was amazing view and worth it. Hope one day I will get to go there. I want to see the Notre Dame with my owe eyes.
It’s a breath of fresh air seeing other types of adventures. Maybe this is another avenue PPP can branch into.
I loved history, history video's would be cool to watch
😊 some times you get lost and there are people that will help you get back to the place you are looking for. Just have to know their direction like words left ,right.and straight. I had to find the train station to get back to post and it was easy.
Chris, this is one of your best!
Safe travels 🐾
"Do the touristy things!" a lot of the time, there's a good reason they're the things tourists travel to do! Sure there's people out there trying to take advantage of gullible tourists but if you go to Paris for the first time, go up the Eiffel Tower! I'm quite a fan of the hop-on hop-off tourist buses in a new city, they give you a good overview and help you get your bearings. Yes they're only giving you the shallowest of tours but it makes a good starting point. Also IDK so much about other cities, but in London on a nice summer day you see the parks packed with people - just as many locals as tourists. A lot of those "touristy things" are fun things locals do too!
I finally took a non-Disneyland/Theme Park train in November. I was worried I'd get lost, but it was good. Have fun!
THIS looks like a place I would love to visit. Or... relocate to.
This city is also quite beautiful in Winter. They have wonderful Christmas markets! I hope you can do the European Christmas markets one year. You might really love it.
Hi Chris! I love the walk around and sight see videos! I am only partially through this but love it. My great grandmother lived outside of Paris in the 1930s and I like to think she visited here. Thanks for sharing your trip! Michelle from Omaha.
This was a great video! It seemed very familiar as it is still showing us where you are just like you do with Disney videos! I so enjoyed the history, it made me google and find out more! The Cathedral broke ground in 1015 and completed in 1439!!! The ending walk up the Cathedral was perfect!!😍🤩🥰
I probably will not be able to visit those places, so it's fun to watch you go through these places.
Chris, my friend. You keep thanking us for joining you. But i keep telling you, that you three are the ones allowing us to join you. Whether be it a Disney park, or other theme park, or the castles you showed us last year, or today, showing us parts of Strasbourg. Crippled lonely old men like me will never have the opportunity to see all this without your taking the time to show us, and tell us about what you are showing us. For instance, i have found out that if i lived back then, i would have starved, because i would not fit between those poles to get into the market square.
Its also fun to join you on your travel days.
Thankyou,
Love,
Uncle Martin
Great vlog! You should see the youtube vlogs when it's Christmas market time....the most beautiful and the buildings are amazing in the snow....I hope one day you, Amanda and Myles can visit during the Christmas market and show us!
Thanks have a safe trip.
Love ALL of the travel vlogs! ❤
Pretty neat architecture. A little too much stone for me, but it still looks neat!
I’ve been loving your travel videos!
Thank you for sharing.
I plan to do a Rhine river cruise and this is one of the stops. They also have these great canals, plus the German and French food fusion is supposed to be amazing in that area.
Thank you enjoyed it a lot.
I will be in Strasbourg in October. Can’t wait.
I loved this type of video for your channel! ❤
I’ve been to Strasbourg, it’s very nice. We stopped there, or near there, on a Viking cruise. We had lunch. It’s very pretty.
I was wondering if this is a stop on the Viking River cruise. I was lightly researching river cruises a couple months ago and this area looked familiar.
Park Asterix is based on the conflict between gauls and Roman empire. the Gauls always win because of the magic potion their druid cooks up. there are a lot of comics. The "french looking building " had the label "musee de ville stassbourgh" meaning "museum of the city of Strassburg". The EU parliament stays 6 months of the year in Brussels Belgium and then 6 months in Strassburg. that means that everyone ( politicians, support staff, cabinet workers of said politicians) move from Brussels to Strassburg. Usually when they are in town the prices for rooms skyrocket like it isnt even funny.
Great videos! Everyone should broaden their perspective. Like grandpa said "they can take everything from you expect what you accomplished and visited". Memories, places you visited in the past, the people you were with and so on, they can't take that away from you. Just... be careful you hear. Especially Paris is having an explosion of violence lately.
Yes I like this type video of yours.
