idk how people ignore his early Cleveland stuff. game 5 of the 07 pistons series is one of the greatest performances of all time. 29 of his teams last 30 points in a ROAD playoff game. never gonna happen again. He lost his first two game 7s and he scored half his teams points in both of them. Hasn't lost a game 7 since. his '09 playoff run is absolutely phenomenal and no other player in NBA history would have gotten that cavs squad out of the first round. no one has ever dragged more nobodies to more playoff series wins than Lebron and no one ever will again.
People that say lebron couldn't play in the 90's didn't watch these series against the wizards and pistons. Wizards were rough on bron..lots of hard fouls same with sheed and big ben, i still remember sheed busting open z's head.
LeBron’s first playoff run I remember this was the first time I sat and watched entire games of the Cavs; and LeBron reminded me a lot of Grant Hill. So gracious. Moves quick and slow. The fast break is poetry. The dribbles are to the point. Wow. Nostalgia squared. Watching 2006 LeBron and being Nostalgic about 1999 Grant Hill haha.
Everyone's talking about the travel at the end but can we just take the time to appreciate the unbelievable pass at 6:01? And the fact that lebron at such a young age scored 41 freakin points in his FIRST playoff game. Seriously haters are just trying to find the smallest things to hate on
As much as I love bron the east at this time was weak. Wizards had 42 wins and made the playoffs . Wouldn't have even been top 12 much less top 8 in the west with that record. The teams Kobe faced were ridiculous defensively blazers kings spurs twolves those mfs were nasty defensively . Another fact is that lebron was the lone man here. Kobe was splitting possessions with prime shaq in his first 5 playoff years.
@@joshromero-burgan9860 Yeah but Bron averaged 35+ against the Warriors (67 wins), Raptors (51 wins) and Magic (59 wins). Kobe still got to play mediocre teams in the 1st round sometimes, like 2004 Rockets, 2011 Hornets, 2012 Nuggets.
@@mani-wj6uklol the way they be talking you think Kobe was playing juggernauts every round plus some of his teams was stacked. Just having Shaq should of helped the scoring those early years. Also some of those west teams was not great defensive teams. Then the last part Bron got busy on defensive teams regardless.
Remember this game like yesterday. i remember the wizards down 3, And Eddie Jordan drawing a play. I was so scared, that i decided not to watch the play. when I came back the Wizards were inbounding the ball. All I remember is Arenas getting the ball and draining a long shot bomb. I felt so confident that I decided to leave game AGAIN. When I came back, Lebron and his teamamates were humped over Damon Jones! WTF
he was in the air and tied for 2 secs and went down.. block is you still dont have the ball in ur hand.. even the commentator said tied him up because the ball was still in his hand after the "block"
It wasn't a travel because the ball came out of LeBron's hands and then he regathered it. However, the layup at the end was absolutely a travel. He took 4 steps.
I cant believe how good gilbert arenas was and now hes nowhere he was my favorite player and his career when straight downhill after the knee injury it really sucks cause he was one of the best players in the league, his range is ridiculous!
notice how none of the wizard players were complaining for a travel....because it just didn't look like one at full speed. refs miss travels all the time because some of them are just hard to see at full speed... however it was a travel.
It was tbh. His left was planted on the pump fake, took a step with the right and moved his pivot left foot. If it was a hop step as he was gathering I wouldn't call it, but it was a missed call. Regardless great game, not a lot of guys are getting bumped like that to still make the shot, I saw a potential A-1, so both calls missed on both sides.
10:04 This is for anyone who thinks this series wasn't fixed for Lebron and the Cavs. Forget the travel at the end, if the refs are making that call in the last 2 minutes you know the NBA wanted Lebron to win. ESPN having that "most points in their first road playoff game" graphic ready to go, is more proof the NBA wanted to help young Lebron's playoff legacy. Lebron is a bigger ratings draw than the Wizards. More ratings equals more money for the NBA. The more money the NBA makes on TV revenue, the more it can pay its employees. The NBA employs the refs. Its a win for everyone except the wizards.
Yep. This is what the NBA has always done with their superstars and their favorite superteams since forever... especially Michael Jordan and the Chicago Bulls Dynasty in the 1990s...
Gilbert Arenas had an amazing series with 34/5/5/2 a game but now he's just another player who lost to Lebron in the playoffs. This was probably the Wizards best chance to beat young Lebron's Cavs, too, since 3 of these 6 games were decided by 1 point.
It's hard being a consistent point-guard gilbert arenas looked like a prodigy and got injured. Derrick Rose went balls out in 2011 season and couldn't last the following season. :/
I'm a Lebron fan but dude got so many phantom calls in this game..... He doesn't get them as much any more but it's pretty obvious that the refs were trying to keep this game close whenever it looked like the wizards were gonna blow them out.
This was the playoff series that made me a Wizards fan. Even to this day, with the Wizards being one of the worst teams in the league, I will stand and root for them no matter what. Its also kind of weird to see Lebron James become more of a clutch player in the 4th quarter when he was in Cleveland unlike now when he is in Miami.
Yeah your right!!! But the game winner was maybe ``the biggest travel of all time`` he took a dribble, then a step, after that he landed on both of his feet. travel 3 steps. Not enough, in this position he faked his defender and changed his pivot foot. in my opinion he took 5 steps on his game winning shot. watch closely:-) p.s. I am not a hater, Im just bored and waiting for the start of the nba
ikr. in one of his most famous clips (you know the one where he faked two defenders and dunked on EWING *i think*) he faked, PALMED the ball, pushed off one of them, like he did all the time. that's the human element of the game, which is why baseball fans are calling out refs to use replay cuz they miss so many calls. its not their fault...
come on guys, stop hating on lebron so much for travelling, the ref's should have caught that. he's a great player, no need to degrade him with little things like travels and stuff.
man,,,i like lebron, but this was travel or the refs give him the foul,,,and 2 freethrows,,,,thats what i think......but the game was great and gilbert had a chance for the win,,,,,,
I always thought that when you grab the ball with both hands and jump-stop, you can't move anywhere... Clearly he did that and then took two more steps to the bucket...
I still cant believe Lebron made that pass to Ilgauskas and that was 10 years ago.......
honestly one of the best passes i have ever seen in my entire life
17 years now
@Ryandupont0896 Neither can Hayward, to this day he still hasn't seen that pass.

6:01 is what you are here for
good man
thanks
Impossible pass
Thankyou sir
6:39 that LeBron pass looks SO SICK when slowed down a lil and from this angle
