Wow John, accepting rematches vs a player that targets your weakness so you can learn from it and improve really showcases your strength of character! Great video!

The stalemate ideas at the end was hilarious . That dude had perfect technique those were amazing games

Stalemate ideas on both sides of the board in that last one, yes! :)

There are some content creators that don't post really tough sessions. It is great to see how you process this kind of game set, as we all see it and wonder how to handle it.... Thanks, John!

Agreed, I really identified with the "struggling to even come up with ideas" vibes that I got in some of the games, and it's strangely comforting to hear the thought process in those moments.

Second! John, you are an inspiration to me! I've watched most of your videos, and lately, I've started playing 1 15/10 game a day while taking my time and just crossed 700 Rapid for the first time. Fins you are THE MAN thank you so much for your relaxing and instructive content.

Thanks for posting the learning experience for us!

Sorry you're still having issues with your voice, John. It goes without saying that all your viewers understand if you have to take an occasional break. Taking care of your health naturally should be your #1 priority. As for the games, I really enjoyed the action. It's amazing how well players at your level can play 3 + 0 games! You had a very worthy opponent in that 2800 plus IM - very fast and good. I guess that's an often recommended way to improve: try to play people who are a bit stronger (perhaps about 100 points higher rated, ideally). That way you get a real training effect from the games, but still feel you have a fighting chance.

Lol I like "facing the clock as a weapon". After like 10 vids of you using the clock and being down every time this feels more authentic

was lucky enough to catch these games live and was expecting a "using the clock as a weapon" video. Guess I was wrong though haha! ggs john and good technique demonstrated not letting yourself tilt into playing more games--always impressed by that

Did they play in IM not a GM? I remember Roberto Molina did very well in that. Or maybe that was a year that John didn't play it.

0:16 playing when theres other things on your mid is usually a recipe for a poor session. This is the like reverse of your previous video where you said playing in a good mood leads to wins

John, you need to trust your instinct more. You have a GM-tier bullet rating. Many IMs would struggle if you actually trust your instinct and use the clock AS YOUR WEAPON!

John, did you ever find yourself feeling burnt out and taking a break from chess for a time?
Usually I find myself so passionate about the game, learning and practicing with every moment I find, but recently I was so deprived of energy I couldn't get excited about the game, my last game was two weeks ago and I'm feeling kind of sad about it
