Yay, I'm about to get a whole new generation of runners I'll have to teach to not hover immediately after the clipout. I do agree that that's what beginners should be doing though because extra height at the end only loses time, not your run.
Ngl, I completely forgot to mention that you can just drop for a few seconds before going to the end. I did it when showcasing the route (after camera turn is when I prefer to do it no clue why) but oops. Yeah I think in any case best for beginners to just have extra height when learning anyway but at least if they read the comments they'll find the extra few seconds they can save by dropping early lol
I loved how you managed to explain so much in so little time! The small bits explaining why some of the more obscure things work elevate this tutorial to another level! Most only teach how to perform the tricks, not why they work, this is awesome to see! One extra detail about how getting inside the boxes work is that touching the wall is another thing that makes it possible, because otherwise you will lose all your speed when touching the middle box's hitbox before it gets destroyed, and most of the time people touch it for at least a frame when jumping and shooting. By touching the wall during the jump, the game's collision detection doesn't stop you once you touch the box (I don't think anybody ever looked into the code to figure out why it works like this). I never messed with bofa properly until I TASed the stage, and ended up learning this about the skip, so I thought it was worth sharing since I don't think I ever saw anyone explaining why touching the wall is important to nail the clipout.
Oh yeah I remember the footage that I first saw explaining how interacting with one collision will allow for a different collision to behave differently. That's a great point and I never thought about it working in that situation as well! Always great to get compliments from you Brian hahaha. Thank you I am glad you enjoyed the tutorial and thank you for explaining the extra detail I love it! At the end of the day the tutorials are a way for me to rant about what I've learned about each stage (Though you'd be surprised how much always has to be cut so they don't become tediously long) I try my best to pick and choose what is important info and what people can go without knowing, which I'm not always sure I choose the best but nobody has started a riot about my decisions so I think I'm choosing well, so far at least hahaha
@@Traitor1 lol I see what you mean about the creation process, and yeah, in my opinion you're definitely doing an amazing job at choosing what and what not to include. Now that you mentioned it, I totally forgot about the inclusion of the old EE skip. I'm very happy you included that as well, I sometimes forget that not everyone is going to either not use any skips or they're gonna use the fastest one. And mate, we have tutorials for many things in the game, but very few are as good as yours, lots of knowledge, great visuals to aid in understanding the information, and no wasted time. So I'm only stating facts when I compliment you and your work. I also really like to watch your stage tutorials because there's quite a few things about NG gameplay that I don't know as far as tricks and stuff since I never ran it nor tried to learn most of the NG exclusive stuff, so I love when I can learn something new about the game, and you're giving me that opportunity.
@skycoolhehe by regular version of SA2 do you mean Dreamcast? If so then I do not own that version of the game so I’m not certain but I believe the answer is no. However it has its own unique method of clipping out later in the level! Otherwise this works for every other version of the game (pc, gc, Xbox)
Can’t wait to try one of these skips not for speedrunning but just for my pure hate for Eternal Engine

@@brianpso Thank you, I appreciate it so much! Makes me feel more confident about the tutorials as a whole!
Fantastic! I've been trying to get Bofa more consistently and this helped out a TON. Thank you my friend!
Wow, I'm glad it's helped a lot!
GOD I always hated this stage due to how tedious it felt. This'll no doubt be a godsend
Best of luck, hope it helps!

@Traitor1 not the Dreamcast version just the base game of SA2 on steam
