Very Nice guys!!! I bought the F-15 and it rocks and then went and bought a AS3X receiver and installed it in to the F-105 and it flies just like the F-15 (I flashed the F-15 settings in to the radio for the F-105 and then adjusted for F-105 flight) Awesome.

Assuming it comes with an AR363 Rx? It's possible to set up flaperons but there's some trickery to it if you want to keep safe select. If not, just install the version 1.xx firmware (no SAFE) with the programming dongle and flaperons are literally a straight up option in the spektrum programming software. If you want to keep SAFE (version 2.xx firmware with SAFE) check out the thread on RCgroups for SAFE model builder (need to trick it into thinking it's version 1.xx to set up flaperon surface). These receivers are pricey, but they're the bomb. From the looks of it there's no dramas slowing this bird down anyway. Now look at me, Captain Blaz.

I love the looks of the F16, I ordered a Mini Apprentice to start learning to fly. Would this be a good first EDF Jet to transition to once I feel comfortable with the Mini Apprentice? I got a Christmas bonus this year and I want to pickup a few planes to fly after I learn the Mini I was also looking at this and the F4 Phantom BNF, or the F18 BNF. Luckily I have a Man Cave where I can put them on display, I know the temptation to fly one would be there, but I have no problem leaving them on the shelf until I am ready.

Here’s a link to the jet but while I was there I’d take a look at the 4s Marlin jet from Arrows RC as well. It would be a better first jet. Once you master something like it pop the f16 off the shelf and give it a shot. Using these links in descriptions and through Pilot Ryan Media.com earns commissions for this channel which we greatly appreciate. Thanks www.hobbyzone.com/eflite/EFL7850.html?AFFID=420234

I agree with Mike - go with a Marlin first - I got mine 2 weeks ago and think my 2nd jet will be the F-16. If the only experience you have is the Apprentice - I'm not sure I'd jump from it immediately to a Jet - my suggestion is get some more experience first with faster propeller planes - like a T-28.

I've been watching the videos of this jets and like them a lot, are there too expensive to buy them? Maiden it tomorrow. FYI don't connect your IPAD AS3X programmer cause your curious what it was programmed with. It will wipe out the file inside the receiver. You'll spend the next day getting a File to upload back into the receiver from spektrum. Only use the PC base AS3X programmer not the Ipad on the SAFE receivers.

a question for Mike or anyone with experience with BOTH this F-16 and the Marlin Jet.
I have the Marlin and do sport aerobatics with it.
Can the F-16 do sport aerobatics or will it be too fast and not enough throw in the control surfaces ?
I do loops, rolls, Cuban 8, reverse 8, hammerhead, inverted, vertical etc with the Marlin.
I'm looking at the F-16 as my 2nd Jet now that I'm comfortable with my first jet - the Marlin.

@@PilotRyanMedia follow up - I now have the F-16 and it is performing wonderfully - the landing gear is much better than my previous jets and the screws were hex head and lined up with the holes - I hate (yes hate) the junk phillips that are too shallow and too soft to torque down on the other jets I started with. This is my favorite jet for many reasons.

Random question, but can I make the freewing SU-35 work with a 6 channel receiver/transmitter setup with the thrust vectoring? I figured having Y connectors to connect the elevator/rudder to the thrust vector would work if I set up expo to compensate for the extra deflection.... then when i throw the sticks i get full deflection.. is this a possibility or am I dreaming?

And unfortunately its mostly grass fields that I've seen in my area. I also do paramotoring and we take off right next to an RC park. I see them flying jets all the time I just don't know if they're hand launching or they found a smooth patch of grass to take off from.
