#goelectricelf ive always loved your show for conveying a wide range of electric news in a clear and easy to understand way with the context to help viewers know why each topic is important. Ive been a BEV advocate since 2000 and concur that simple and ubiquitous low power overnight charging is critical to maximize wide adoption. It changes the paradigm for refueling cars and if with smart grid managed dispatching could greatly improve grid as we bring on more renewables.
You completely get it. No doubt. You level-headed and pragmatic voice is highly welcomed here in the comments section. We hope you'll join our conversations on X and Instagram/Therads too! -Producer Tim
#goelectricelf I love tuning into Miss GoElectric’s channel because she provides clear, insightful reviews on the latest EV technology and innovations. Her content is engaging, well-researched, and packed with practical information that helps viewers stay informed about the transition to electric vehicles. Plus, her enthusiasm for sustainability and cutting-edge tech makes learning about EVs both fun and inspiring!
During the first couple years of running this channel I tuned into a bunch of the other TH-cam EV news channels and I became super frustrated. So often the hosts were themselves mistaken or underinformed. There was a great deal of emphasis on their "feelings" and sometimes even political or social views. I was frustrated because so many of the programs droned on and on for 30-90 minutes while delivering me about 10 minutes worth of useful information. Hands down one of the most informative and insightful E mobility news outlet. Keep up the great work and more success in the coming year! #goelectricelf
#goelectricelf Reliable news in about 10 minutes without all the drama of some other channels. I have been driving an EV for the last 20 years and I am eager to listen to Miss GoElectric each week 👍.
I love TEN's EV news, but the excessive drama does get tiring. You're a quite impressive early adopter, two decades is a LONG time. I'd be interested in a list of the EV vehicles you've owned and any other info about them you'd care to include, how long you owned them, mileage, opinions of, reason for giving up, etc.
@@RPRosen-ki2fk I tried to buy my first EV as soon as I got a salary (first year of my PhD) probably in 1995, a Citröen AX electric. But the seller convinced me it was a bad idea so I bought the petrol version (AX "image"). Now I can say that there is nothing I did with my petrol AX that I would not have been able to do with an electric one. So I bought my first EV a few years latter, a second hand PSA 106 electric. I had to sell this 106 about 10 years latter since I moved from the French Caribbean to France. And I bought a Tesla model 3 AWD in early 2018 (with FSD 🙄), a car I preordered 2 years before during Elon's first presentation. And I still drive my model 3 with no intention to change. To be complete, when I had the 106 I also had a Renault Scenic for "long" trips, but it was so often not working that the 106 was in fact the only car of the family (3 children). And of course the Tesla is the only car we own now, and we have been all over Europe with it 👍.
We are super happy you've joined us! We literally started this channel to cancel out dramatic, sensational, political, bloviating, and inaccurate TH-cam EV news. Comments like yours make me think we might be on the right track. -Producer Tim
We produce quite a few different kinds of content. What is your favorite? News Factory Tours EV Reviews eBike Reviews Event coverage Motorsport Leadership Interviews Historical Explainers eBike Group Rides -Producer Tim www.MissGoElectric.Com
That is very helpful. When this channel began, it was exclusively electric vehicle related. We started adding eBike reviews about a year into it. We found out that eBike viewers were unsubscribing when they saw a lot of other EV content and we understood that we had to create different channels for different audiences. The electrification of transportation was apparently too broad so now we have three channels. All eBike content is on the Ride Reviews channel. Factory tours, leadership interviews, and detailed explainers go on our Industry channel. We publish content which is closer to mainstream on this channel. Thank you for joining us! -Producer Tim Our first video on this channel: th-cam.com/video/hqDWpWsxL2U/w-d-xo.html
So much great news! The requirement for charging provisions in new construction is huge. It is what is needed to enable widespread EV ownership. The rollout of new charging networks and accelerated expansion of existing networks is another big development. The funding of more and more battery manufacturing in the US is yet another critical building block of the EV transition. Taken together, these things mean that a better future is possible.
California is the 5th largest economy in the world. We hope abundant level2 charging will show the path forward for the other 49 states. The future is indeed bright, David. Thank you for sharing your optimism. Are you connected with Miss GoElectric on any other social media platforms? -Producer Tim

#goelectricelf I am obsessed with ev news and listen to multiple podcasts all week. You still add something new in your great concise format. Plus, I think you provide a different perspective.
Miss GoElectric was a guest on the Inside EVs live EV news podcast several times back in 2022-2023. She was then hired on as a permanent weekly host for the last 30 episodes. I was frustrated by that format because every episode contained some incorrect information and was heavily loaded with opinions or paid promotion. I hope this format cleans up some of that and gives viewers back some time. We are glad you've joined us for this show and we hope you'll subscribe to all three of our TH-cam channels for many longer videos we publish which go into greater detail. -Producer Tim
@missgoelectric, she was the best host on that podcast. They rebooted a few weeks ago. I also enjoyed her guest appearance on Batteries Included a few weeks ago. If I had my way she would be on that show more regularly.

I think the Ram hybrid has potential in the market. I still feel like heavy long haul trucking is one of the only scenarios where EV doesn’t really work quite yet. There is a portion of people who want an EV pickup, but need the range of gas. That thing just might sell like hot cakes. I’m interested to see what happens.
You've got it. The energy density of gasoline allows many pickup trucks to carry 10x capability in a smaller volume of space. Innovation is narrowing the gap. Most drivers who frequently who tow large objects long distances will rely on combustion engines for years. -Producer Tim
Thanks Karl. As for Aptrera, we've interacted with the Gamma prototype and we've had dinner with Chris Anthony. He was friendly and we've always liked the vehicle since they first showed it in 2008. In fact we had a reservation with they went out of business the first time. We avoid Aptera in order to distance ourselves and our viewers from their aggressive fundraising tactics. One of the benefits of driving a Tesla is that owners can charge at 100% of the Superchargers and 100% of the CCS connectors, too. The newcomers with NACS access cannot use V2 stations, which comprise about 20% of the US Supercharger at the moment. Thank you for joining us! Good luck in the contest. -Producer Tim

Easy money does tend to result in malinvestment more often than self-funded efforts. In this case, it is the USA vs China and government dollars are a driving force on both sides of the line. -Producer Tim

#goelectricelf GREAT info as always. We are getting pretty far behind China in the automotive industry. Still prefer living in the States (I think), but our world leadership is lagging. Maybe we need more eccentric thinking/nutballs? Anyway, glad to be alive during the EV revolution. My dad was also very keen on this technology-unfortunately he passed in 2010.
China started ten years ahead of our legacy automakers and they have become Earth's number one producer of automobiles... not just EVs. Tesla is leading their manufacturers by EV volume, but not by much. Their auto industry has earned many technological, scale, and procedural advantages. Thank you for sharing your thoughts! -Producer Tim
@@MissGoElectric I tried to make a couple other comments on this video, too. But, they won't show up. Not sure what is happening there. First time I have ever seen that happen.
I like hearing EV news from the whole industry. While I do like Teslas, most channels are more Tesla centric. This channel is more neutral which I appreciate
We favor all electric transportation. We are not motivated to focus on any particular innovator, policy, infrastructure, or sub-sector. If we recognize news which might affect the adoption of electrification, we try to report it. Miss GoElectric's formal degree in broadcast journalism comes through in the way she writes and presents THE CURRENT. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and for joining us each week! -Producer Tim
It may sell more trucks, but in the end it will be interesting to see how little anyone needs to use a gasoline powered charger in there day to day life.
We suspect certain categories will remain best served by internal combustion vehicles. As battery and EV manufacturing technologies advance, they'll become so much less expensive than ICE that very few will *elect* to drive a gasoline powered automobile. We think that tipping point can be delayed by policy, but we to not think it can be prevented. Thank you for sharing your perspective. -Producer Tim
Almost across the street from my local Myers, which has a dozen level two Tesla chargers at the local truckstop our GM chargers when it gets warmer out, I’ll drive by and take pictures and send it to you guys. Thanks Tim. Thanks gang the Highlander PS kindness is always free.😊
I've never seen more than a few Tesla Level2 Destination chargers....many Meijer locations do have DC Fast Charging Supercharger stations in quantities of 8-20. If they really are Level2 AC dispensers, that would be interesting to see. Happy Holidays! -Producer Tim

Beyond the giveaway, I think it makes a lot of sense for Ram to focus on the Charger now. They will have the only solution like it until Ford, GM and Scout come out with their own EREV and Plugin Hybrid Trucks.
@@MissGoElectric I had a model Y from 2020 to 2022 when I thought an Audi Q4 might be better. It was not. But, my wife now uses the Q4 and I bought another Y in 2024. To me, the Tesla is the absolute best integrated automobile with software and is head and shoulders better than any other EV.
Great insights. Miss GoElectric also had a 2022 Model Y which she recently replaced with a Rivian R1T. She loves the truck but has remarked a few times about certain elements of the Tesla experience which she misses. Software is one major differentiator and Rivian is making good progress. Their vehicles still don't support any kind of voice-to-text which is odd...because even a base level Toyota Corolla can safely handle text message. Anyhow...thank you for sharing your experience. I know hundreds of people read the comments and do not contribute. They certainly appreciate candid opinions, too. -Producer Tim
Thanks for what you do! One point interest... While demand for EV trucks has lags behind production, year to year sales are up significantly according to statistics I've been seeing. I think it's fair to say the demand is increasing, but at a slower rate than the industry had hoped.
The Tesla Cybertruck is outselling its nearest three EV truck competitors. That has been good for the segment. We published a couple of dedicated segments focused on Ford's F150 Lightning factory here in Michigan. It was expanded at a cost of about $1B in order to produce 150,000 electric pickup trucks annually. This year they'll probably sell 35k-40k. The volume is better than last year because they've essentially erased the profit margin by cutting $7k-$14k off the MSRP compared to last year. Right now the F150 is shuttered. The Chevy Silverado, GMC Hummer Pickup, and GMC Sierra Denali are readily available on lots. They've not had a shortage and are not close to the top 3 in sales despite being the newest. There are many factors involved here which go beyond the merit of the product. Sure, there is a cultural component. When we see aggressive anti-EV behavior (charger blocking, coal rolling, comment trolling) it is commonly perpetrated by ICE pickup truck drivers. There is also a dealership component. Franchise dealerships like the profit margin of ICE vehicles and they depend upon that service revenue. EV trucks don't provide much of either for those franchise dealerships. Tesla Cybertruck is probably the only EV pickup truck which is profitable on a per-unit basis. They achieved that within the first year of production. They've delivered somewhere north of 50,000 trucks since the first one rolled off the line a year ago. Rivian has said they expect their pickup truck to be profitable on a per-unit basis by Q1 2025. Big picture, they are losing north of ~$30,000 per truck. As you've pointed out, more EVs will be sold in the USA this year than last year in every category. Profit margins are smaller and the market is split by many, many more products. Those underlying truths do not detract from the size of the pie, but they do speak to comparative incentives to compete. We don't need a crystal ball when we can see profit motives shifting in the data. Its a lot of fun to engage with you here in the comments. We hope you'll join us on social media (X, instagram, Threads, Facebook, LinkedIN) -Producer Tim th-cam.com/video/o5tqlXc2qdo/w-d-xo.html

No doubt.

Miss GoElectric's college degree in broadcast journalism taught her to value triple-checking the research and minimizing bias. She truly cares about "The Current" and is often working until 2-3AM on Sunday morning to finish the edit and schedule publishing.

Keeping up with your news.

I would like to hear more about the *Aptera introduction at CES.*
Yeah, especially any SORB crash test videos!
When they have begun production and deliveries to non-investors, we will definitely cover them.

One of the benefits of driving a Tesla is that owners can charge at 100% of the Superchargers and 100% of the CCS connectors, too. The newcomers with NACS access cannot use V2 stations, which comprise about 20% of the US Supercharger at the moment.

I like hearing EV news from the whole industry. While I do like Teslas, most channels are more Tesla centric. This channel is more neutral which I appreciate
We favor all electric transportation. We are not motivated to focus on any particular innovator, policy, infrastructure, or sub-sector.

We hope you'll join us on social media (X, instagram, Threads, Facebook, LinkedIN)
