Hi Is it Important to Have class start date on I-20 before your expiry, Like If my visa is expiring in October but the I-20 got a enrollment classes start date in November or January , so can I still file the case from J1 TO F1? or do I need a class start/enrollment date before the October in this case? I hope you got my question.

I have one question in terms of having an Non- immigration status from J1 to F1.
Approval notice cannot be used as a visa although you would like to ask what does one need when they go to their home country to facilitate the same visa classification.
Do you just use the notice of approval and they stamp it in your home country embassy?

It it necessary to have a letter at hand showing that shows you have been waived from the 2year residency bar during the time you apply for a change of status from J1 to F1? Or I can complete the change of status even when the waiver process has not yet been approved?
Status will not change until you have waiver in hand.
