I live in the Detroit area and a native Michigander, so this really hit home for me. By the way, the primary airport is commonly known as Detroit Metro Airport, but that's just a minor gripe. Good job with this, keep up the good work!
This was probably the most important video you've ever made. In North America we've lived in relative peace for so long that we can't fathom our nearly identical countries going to war - but I'm sure many Russians and Ukrainians believed the same ten years ago. Having studied the rise of fascism in Germany, I feel American democracy is hanging on by a thread. If it does hit the fan, you're free to crash at my place! In any case, excellent work as always!
You've outdone yourself once again! This is an interesting take on the idea of a second Civil War. Plus it's nice to see a scenario take place in Detroit/Windsor
Your scenarios are always entertaining, but they also pack a certain emotional punch that a lot of modern media really can't replicate. It's that gripping story combined with the shrill tones I've been obsessed with since childhood. Keep up the awesome work!
This was an EAS scenario that was shockingly well done and extremely poignant in the time that we are living in! It's nice to see an EAS scenario that is realistic in its scope and executed in a way that really brings you into the situation. Scenarios like these are what got me into this genre, and to see a hypothetical situation brought to life really makes you wonder what you would do in that type of situation. I think the situation you bring attention to is more cautionary than judgemental, and warns people of what a spillover conflict could look like! Excellent job! Keep up the good work! :)
Great Scenario! I've been a fan since 2017 and I have to say I love watching your videos! The story and visuals never cease to amaze me, and I'm excited to see how this continues into Flashpoint! I hope to see more scenarios from you in the near future! Keep up the Good Work Jay! 👍
This goes almost seamlessly with the american civil war episodes from Ambience Escapade. Like an expanded universe thing. Loved this video, subbing up!
Interesting concept of plot here! While I don't think that we'll ever have an inner conflict as big as The Civil War (I hope not atleast), I always appreciated videos that delved into this idea.
So like a few other people here have said, this scenario feels very timely as many of us in the States are concerned about the ethnofascist turn we've made in the past five+ years. This hits home to me more in the deep south than it does to anyone in Canada probably, because this feels like our future. Nobody's gonna pull the lever on this trolley. Thank you for sharing this.
That was the point. This is less of a scenario and more a cry for help and for someone to do something. This was just the most effective way I knew how.
as a trans person living in the US, this resonates with me, too - it feels like nobody is willing to help us get out of the situation we’re in, pulling the proverbial lever and protecting our rights, and it keeps getting worse (I live in CT, one of the safest states in the US for trans people, and I still don’t feel safe anywhere in this country).
The Second American Civil War happened in 2025, but the July Insurrection happened in 2026 when Alabama chooses to secede from the Union. I'm not nitpicking, but it means that maybe this could be one of the alternating paths in Flashover, maybe... Unless I could be wrong.
Excellent, excellent video. I have believed for a while now that the United States is heading toward another civil war but never gave much thought to what that would look like. This could very well be how it goes down. As someone who has lived on the West Coast all my life, I am 100% okay with WA, OR, and CA breaking off from the union. Sorry that Canada got dragged into it though.

@@jayfeather31 Nice work Jay feather! I would like to ask you a question. I have long thought that a outright Civil War was unlikely in the United States because it would likely end really quickly with either the cities getting quickly taken due to the fact that they were more likely to go against the type of American government in this scenario or the countryside would be quickly overrun by the military but would you consider it likely that instead of the kind of war depicted in this scenario a more likely outcome might be an American version of the civil conflict in Northern Ireland from 1968 to 1998?
@@lucasquintanilla1673 I agree with that, and in fact, within the context of this scenario, the fighting started out like that in 2023. It only reached this stage because of intensification and escalations, along with the military being torn in two. Additionally, the bit about conflicts occurring in every state along with regular fighting alludes to a The Troubles like scenario occurring simultaneously with active confrontations. The entire thing is a messy affair.
How long it would last would be dependent on the number of factors, the most important of which being how the military splits. The scenario presented here is merely one possibility out of many.
@@jayfeather31 true. however the scenario is also of a separate, yet fictional timeline. however, in more realistic and most likely terms, what would happen is our military would split with 2/3rd on the right wing, and a 3rd on the left wing, canada would eventually be the 51st to 55th states of the union. on top of it, you have many law enforcement that would be right wing as well, and on top of it, as many as 80 million armed civilians, with about 14 million of them being former military, 80-90% of em being right wing. the left wing would just not survive, nor would they even have a collective force. geopolitically, canada wouldn't be able to help with much outside of scraping dead carasses and wiping dust off our tanks and jet fighters. either way, jayfeather, good video, and good scenario that adds to the timeline, sounds like i got some catching up to do on your timelines. i personally liked the tornado ones you posted some years back and the red velvet saga, just classics.
@@Zeakthecat I personally think that it’s more likely that instead of a normal Civil War a situation closer to the troubles in northern Ireland is more likely since it would be more of an explosion of domestic violence both between right and left wing extremists against each other and the military as well as normal civilians. The biggest difference is that there are much more guns in the United States than Northern Ireland so although inevitably there probably would be bombings of a lot of places there would be more incidence of shootings in America than what happened in Northern Ireland where it usually was isolated more to hits on loyalist and IRA para military leaders, it should be mentioned however that while there are a lot of people on the right wing who have guns guns can be easy to make and there are a lot of them floating around America which means that if the conflict was not over quickly a lot of people on the left wing would eventually get them as well meaning that such a era of bloodletting may last for quite a while before some kind of settlement is reached since I doubt in a troubles like scenario anyone would fully win over the other
The fact of the matter is, the US is very Conservative and while its stratas of conservatives, they are easier to whip than progressive movements. They would be steamrolled, and the European world would drop sanctions, progressives states will secede and the EU/NATO would move to protect them (if not outright form a EU-like collective), any stay behinds in the US Military will go to NATO, and European and Asian nations would be in a race to poach all the educated Americans that want out. It would absolutely be the end of the USA and its constitution.
I know I’ve already watched this weeks ago, but coming back to it now and what I realize. I feel this is the most important and very good scenario I’ve ever watched. Especially with the fact that in this country, as of now. With the rapid growth of far right extremism, may have grown to a point of where it has the potential to topple over the status of American Democracy and its institutions entirely… Though I do hope we do not fall into that direction, I’m probably gonna say that we’re still on the path towards it sadly. I mean from what we’ve seen throughout this decade, many things have caught us by surprise. If there’s one thing I can learn so far, it’s that we will not always be able to avoid the worse case scenario… and if shit really does hit the fan, like when previous generations of humans saw the establishment of a dictatorship in Germany almost a century ago… I wouldn’t be surprised if I were to see it happen in my very eyes. In the country I call home, and being met with the realization that all of the progress that the states have made since it’s independence would be wiped out by a single flick of a switch.. But in any case tho, Fantastic scenario Jay! ❤
