Hi Sonny
Did you create a cookbook that’s available only in electronic form? I rec’d an email from you today regarding it but noticed that the title was “Thardudecancook”..
spelling error 😮
Please let me know. Hope I wasn’t hacked
Hey Sonny I love your recipe's. I made the chicken pot pie using corn instead of peas and man was it good
no tarragon in my chicken salad, I don't like the licorice taste...yuck
As a proud 30 year Costco employee, let me say a BIG Thank You for the shout-out on these insanely tasty rotisserie beauties!
Thank you for your service!
Hot damn! What does 30 years looks like benefits-wise?
@@iseabeck9488 It has worked out wonderfully! Gotta love those stocks and bonuses!
@@iseabeck9488probably makes less than the new hires
Congratulations on 30 years! That was the point I decided I needed a break in 2017-- still on break 😆
I read somewhere that at a Costco board meeting one of the execs recommended raising the price of the rotisserie chickens and the $1.50 hotdog/soda deal. The CEO responded, “Over my dead body.” 😂 Love Costco
they already did raise it. it was five dollars when i worked there now it’s 6 dollars. not much of a raise but still a raise.
@@jaslynkinsey5216at my Costco it’s still $5. Hope it stays that way.
@@jaslynkinsey5216Thats weird, I bought one last week for $5.
I wonder if that executive was an outsider who was hired by Costco. He may have an advanced accounting degree. A typical bean counter from college.
@@jaslynkinsey5216 I don't know where you live but here in South Carolina the Chickens are only 4.99.
Seriously, those $5 chickens saved me through college. What a deal.
What’s saving you now?
@@ryanabitter $5 bottles of wine
Saved me my first several years after college. Working 80 hour weeks, 2 jobs and making crappy early 90s money.

I make a "chicken soup kit" with these birdies, 'cause winter is coming, with colds and flu, and it comes in REALLY handy. Simmer the seasoned carcass, strain the stock, cut up the meat, freeze the stock and meat separately, and when we're all sick, I'm not up to cooking, and we NEED chicken soup, you can have home-made, with potatoes/noodles/dumplings, vegetables, whatever you're feelin'. (Or you could just drink cups of the steaming, delicious broth that you made.)
The vibes from these two are the best thing. Pure bromance
As a fellow mexican i feel really proud that u included chicken tinga as a recipe. We have tinga at my house at least 3 times a month.
Literally just got a Costco Rotisserie chicken. To be honest, I'm just gonna eat it.
Over the sink, I hope
My family calls them snacking chickens! Just grab a handful & go😂
I hope you learned a valuable lesson: next time, get 2.
@@CyberSERTthe only mistake you can make buying these, is only buying 1 😂
The curry chicken salad, you can substitute the mayo for sour cream, add a bit more curry and you have a good curry sauce for some nice rice or even oven crisped potatoes! Delicious!
Made the chicken pie for the missus today, had to venture out in the rain to get some carrots but it looks immense & smells so good! Didn't use rotisserie chicken just roasted some chicken thighs. She's having a shitty day at work so hopefully this will cheer her up!
Good for you, Man. Doing something nice for your wife, is one of the best feelings in the world. Sorry that she's having a Bad Day. I know how it is. Windows Updates messed up my computer, and my damned keyboard wasn't sending right keystrokes. Tried everything, but after a reboot, all is back to normal. Thought my GMMK KB failed. Sad day if that happened.
@@golightly5121 she asked for a divorce and there was a murder-suicide. It was in the news.
You definitely have a very clear edge for your entertainment value alone. As if your chef qualities alone weren't enough. Super hilarious video Sonny and so so relevant in the Costco demographic.
One of the few channels that has great intro music, outtro music, interstitial music and humor that's always fresh and fun. Keep bringing out Marcus more, the back and forth between you two is amazing.
I have watched forwarded so many of these recipes to my wife over the last 2 yrs, they are insane! She likes that most of his recipes are not overly complicated and I like they taste incredible! I can honestly say once you try a few of his recipes it makes going back to ordinary dishes difficult. Best cooking channel there is hands down!!!
Haha I love your channel. Not only are you a great chef, but your camera guy, you guys have the best chemistry and it's absolutely hilarious.
I watch a lot of cooking shows, and have picked up some fair chops over the years, but I love this channel the most. The videos are lean but very nutritious, and I really dig the vibe. Thanks, dude.
P.S. My mom pronounces it "chi-pole-tee"
How is a video nutritious?
moron@@Kingfisher1215
My mom says it like that too lol mom whyyyyy?! 😂
So do I- why, is it pronounced differently? 🤷🏻♀️🤣
My auntie calls is "Chip-OT-el"
Costco rotisserie chickens are just the best. My cat can tell the difference between Costco and other supermarket chickens. If I buy a precooked from another supermarket she doesn’t bother herself. As soon as I turn up with a Costco chicken, she is right there ready for her chicken.
Marcus dubbing the jumps was definitely the best part haha. Will be trying a couple of these for sure!
Really liked when the doog started peeking up the table to find the source of the delicious chicken 😄
Adding the frozen peas to chill down, the mixture is genius.
One of the cool ways I've seen that leftover chicken skin used (especially since it's seasoned from the store) is to dry/crisp it up and either pulse in the food processor or chop up, then use them like bacon bits.
Glad you showed the stock making, I'm always shocked at how many people throw away that flavor they already payed for because they have no idea what to do with the bones/scraps.
Yeah. We buy a rotisserie chicken specifically for making stock. The meat is just a value add.
@@mhicaoidh1 I can see why.
Quality stock is what? $4-6 a quart (cheap stuff is 2-3)? So getting 6 quarts of stock from a $5 rotisserie and $2 in veggies/spices is a hell of a deal for so little work.
@@PaperScarecrow totally. The funny thing is we do it because it just results in better stock. I never really thought about it in terms of cost until just now!! 😎
Pan fry the skins crisp in "schmaltz" (chicken fat) and you get "gribbens!" Aka jewish bacon! Yummy
Thank you for the entertainment and the teaching in the kitchen. You are absolutely amazing and funny. Love the book. Really beautiful and true to your persona with a funny and silly twist.
Love it!
Rani, from the Faroe Islands
Thanks for the kind words Rani! The Faroe islands look incredible!
@@thatdudecancook it truly is paradise on earth ❤️
Come and cook some fermented lamb here sometimes. It’s a faroese delicacy called “ræst kjøt”.
Here is a link to wikipedia that shows some of our Faroese cuisine:
en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faroese_cuisine
Cold weather is coming. Using these chickens for stock and making soup is the way to go
Sonny you are a life saver I was literally asking myself what to do with my leftover Costco chicken last night lol. About to make that pot pie. Thanks bro
DUDE! First time I've considered buying a cookbook!
Thank you for releasing it as an ebook btw, much more accessible for a casual like myself 😊
Pupper letting you know, that chicken salad is absolutely 🔥.
I love to use it in salads, tacos or just eating it as it as is. Once Im down to mostly the bone I boil it, pick out all the bones and make chicken soup/ chicken noodle soup. Love the price on this because I get so many meals out of the same chicken. That pot pie looked delicious!
Personal tip, soak raisins in white wine, in italy we usually soak stuff in wine and if the wine is good, an incredible flavour came out
Pls pls pls do more multi-recipe videos like this! Next- your three favorite recipes that feature celery
I add mango chutney to my curry chicken salad - delicious!
Man you are the best! The entertainment value alone is worth every video but you definitely raise my cooking game!
I kinda wish you printed your cookbook. I’m not an E book guy and would love to buy a hard cover version like some of the other cooking channels I watch. I hope one day you’ll decide to print it! Great vid though
That trick with the pan roasted onions for the broth- genius! I’ll be using that one - thank you.
This is exactly the video designed for me, no algorithm necessary. Costco is my happy place and watching your cooking videos are also one of my not-so-guilty pleasures. Nailed it.
I’ve made the chicken salad, the curried chicken salad and the chicken pie and they have all been absolutely delicious!!! Thank you so much for sharing these recipes.
Finally Sonny has a book out!
One of the best chicken salads I ever had had green apple in it, and it was just so good
Perfect mix of humor and culinary teaching. Thanks for making me laugh while I learn a thing or two in the kitchen.
I made a simple meal out if leftover Costco chicken the other night..cooked some mushrooms and deseeded summer squash with some shallots in a little oil..added some diced heirloom tomatoes..oregano.. threw in my shredded chicken to warm and finally stirred in some premade couscous. A glug or two of EVOO and served with lemon wedges
Love everything you do, Sonny. Just got your ebook and can’t wait to get crackin’ on those recipes!
Finally! I’ve needed this for a minute. I usually use it for salads and tacos.
LOVE this channel! Thanks Sonny!
These look great. Can't wait to try them. Thanks.
I love this! My go to is 1. Eat chicken as is or on Caesar salad 2. Make chicken salad 3. Make the broth and chicken soup 4. If there's any left make the chicken pot pie!
Great Fast Meals! Now I need to make your other recipes! Julia
Loved your humor in the Costco "trip". Loved how you got distracted with the popcorn popper. So real life experience. Before you know it you forget what the heck you even went there for.
Austin, Texas.... helllll yeahhhh!! Cheers!! 🍻 Looking forward for more salad recipies.
Fellow dudes who're just learning to cook: *do not* use a glass baking dish for the first recipe, or if you do, don't refrigerate or freeze it before putting it in the hot oven. Most glass dishes will explode into a jagged powder of ruin and danger if you do.
Controlling temps is 70% of cooking. For instance, Cast Iron. It spans the entire temperature range. For steak, surface of the sun. For cornbread, heat it for at 450 until the fat just starts to smoke and add the cornmeal. For most other meat, hot but not too hot, cook the middle. And for eggs, extremely hot side walk temp. You could walk on it barefoot if you had to, as long as you moved your feet real fast
if it’s tempered glass you have nothing to worry about. Pyrex especially.
@@Quiteclueless incorrect and dangerous advice. Tempered glass still shatters when quickly going from extreme cold (as in a freezer) to hot (as in an oven). The difference is that tempered glass fragments aren't as sharp. (PS: I'm a sous chef. I've learned these things by direct experience.)
First of all I never intended for it to be “advice” I simply made an observation. I never said I was an “expert” in tempered glass. so nobody should have thought thusly. not my fault if they did. “chef”.
@@Quiteclueless so do you make it a habit to make "observations" that could affect personal safety that you haven't researched? It would have taken you 30 seconds.
I made the chicken tinga and chicken salads and both were so good! Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🥹
The best chef, easy way and the most delicious
This is wonderful, thank you!
Bravo Sonny! Love your cooking and always look forward to your Faulty-Towers-Like brilliant humor
Making this pot pie tonight, thanks for the inspiration!
I'm always looking for great recipes for Costco chickens. Love yours, and another favorite of mine is Nacho soup. I'm definitely going to try your Chicken Tinga next time.
I can’t wait to get the book!
What a great and useful video. Thank you!
I grab one of these almost every time I go to the grocery store. They're extremely versatile. I usually eat the drumsticks immediately. I use them for a lot of chicken dishes when I'm in a hurry. Soup, dumplings, salads, pasta, essentially any place you would normally use chicken.
Luv the easy recipes! gracias
Ok this the kind of content I need! Thank you!
Seriously, brother?! WowThat's awesome.. You are the only person I would buy a cookbook from🎉❤
I will be making all of these recipes in the near future. Thanks.
Your channel rocks
Got your eBook cook book. Wow. Fantastic recipes.
Im loving the chicken pot pie idea….your method links easier than what we do….gunna try it soon!
Congratulations man! I have been a subscriber for a while now and really enjoy your content! Keep it up and job well done.
Never had curry chicken salad. Sounds delicious though. Good idea and great video!
Definitely give it a try! I’m starting to see it more and more at various restaurants so it’s starting to pick up in popularity. It’s tasty for sure!
This was an awesome cooking video, thanks Sonny haha. I would love to try that pot pie recipe one day.
❤ Love this guy, thought I wish he would do some winter soups, like mulligatawny soup
Commenting for the algorithm. Love this channel! Marcus was a great addition!!
dude this video is soooo practical because of the rotisserie chicken i am making all 3!!!
I'm definitely trying that chicken tinga recipe!
Marcus has the best job ever. Love your stuff dude
Yes, grapes cut in half to the chicken salad! And some type of nut: slivered almonds, chopped pecans, chopped walnuts, or chopped cashews!
Love this channel, please never leave ❤
LOVE THIS.
Awesome recipes!
I got about 42 taquitos out of one, 1 cup of cheese mixed with the shredded chicken well seasoned. Snacked on the skin😋
Awesome work..I love this channel
Love this guy!
Thank you chef
Thank you for this video.
If you can make that E-Book a regular cookbook, I would buy it!
Awesome stuff. I sometimes buy the rotisserie chicken and make a chicken curry pie, sounds strange so some people but I swear by it. Family love it too.
Love and peace from Australia as always Dude & Marcus 🦘😘😘
Really enjoy your channel. The comedy skits are over the top.😅
WORD!! These all 4 truly look SCRUMPTOUS!! I esp LOVE me some Chicken Pop Pie!! the salads are crunchy & flavorful, And, I really DIG lots of veggies and fruit. And, there is that in the other recipes.
Sonny,
Definitely gonna try these recipes! They look yummy! Our family's go-to with rotisserie chicken is a sandwich. We use sourdough bread, mayo, lettuce, tomato, and avocado. This is money on night's whhen you don't feel like cooking. Another favorite is chicken enchilada. Thanks for all of the great recipes and entertainment!

7:58 "We did it!!!!" Dora-Marcus sounds so happy. 😂😂
Love the video!
I love the harsh and spicy onion taste😊
I’m eating it as you uploaded it🤣🤣🤣
I made the pot pie last night. Other than using dried thyme and, yes, adding a stalk of celery I followed the instructions closely. It was delicious. Before baking make sure to taste the filling for seasoning. Mine was great but could have used a little more salt. Thanks, dude!
I usually get two of them and meal prep a bunch of microwavable burritos for the freezer. Best deal around.
2:56 - chicken stock
3:49 - chicken pot pie
8:48 - chicken salad
9:44 - curry chicken salad
11:01 - chicken tinga
Thank you man
How do you not include morpho in those ?

The best chef's treat from these chickens is the tail! It is without a doubt the best part of the chicken.
Yes everytime I roast chicken I always sneak the tail for myself before it cools down enough to handle.
Such great memories... My beloved Grandpa always grabbed the tail... Called it either "south end of a chicken going North" or "the Pope's Nose". (This from a staunch Norwegian Lutheran.)
I’m a Sam’s member and I made chicken burritos the other day with theirs. I really want to try the pot pie, and also some chicken soup. Thanks for the recipe.
I use costco rotisserie chicken for chicken enchiladas and it's fantastic
I love to make chicken noodle soup out of em and some veg. Delicious and easy as hell to prepare
Your videos are cute! And recipes delicious- made that Sho Yu recipe like that you have options to substitute some of the ingredients. Cordova chickens have delicious seasoning too 😋 Did have to order Fennugreek for the shawarma inspired chicken though will make it next yay
I liked the mandolin references in your videos, convinced me to buy one in a local shop last week. Watching this video I had a hunch and had to check - it is indeed almost identical, which feels quite random unless this Japanese company has a worldwide monopoly! I suspect yours is no95, I now have the narrower (and cheaper) no64. It's dominated what I've cooked in the last 10 days - thinly sliced potatoes, cabbage, zucchini and indeed onions. I did slice off a bit of flesh from one thumb. Thanks nonetheless for the warnings!
YOU HAVE TO USE THE FINGER GUARD! It’s also a good idea to not slice things as fast as Sonny did in this video... at least until you have some experience. Mandolins are not toys! Ask me how I know!
Use the guard please 🙏🫣
Dude EVERY recipe you make is class and fun. Can’t wait to download to help support this f7n cooking channel. Thanks!
Thanks!
Thank you!
You make the content so relevant man thx for this meals idea gonna be at Costco every weekend loool
