I am from Aurangabad, which was in Hyderabad state. My Grandma used to tell the story of Razakars, like how it was terrifying time for people to live in that situations. Glad all thing work out and we are in Independent India

There's this book called 'The Himalayan Blunder' based on 1962 disaster. In first few pages, there's a letter written by Sardar Patel predicting some of the events years before they actually happened.
Yes, also read the letter of Rajendar Prasad sent after the chinese invasion of Tibet. They were way more farsighted and practical than dillusional Nehru and Indian communists.
I have read the book when I was in school, I am now in my late twenties and I realise now what a visionary book it was ! I would humbly request all reading comments here to atleast read 10 pages of the book and have a clearer view of our history !

Old Hyderabad state used to have places from states of Maharashtra, karnataka and entire telanagana but almost nothing from Andhra pradesh
Andhra pradesh is craved out from madras state and later merged with hyderabad in 1956
We all own due what we have to Patel sir but please also mention how Gandhi Ji used him to persuade naval officers to stop rebels against Britishers and when they agree, all of the officers are thrown into jail. Didn't met the 'Think School' standard in this video in terms of content richness this time.
I was having high bar of expectations about detailed facts which are not taught in school for example: reluctance from nawab of Bhopal & kingdom of Travancore (now in kerala) for the reunification, Patel's tactic like 'saam', 'Daam', 'Dand', 'Bhed', obstacles Patel faced etc.

India after Gandhi - by Ramchandra Guha is also a fantastic book about historical development after the death of Gandhiji. After reading this book, I realised how Complex and cumbersome was to reunify India for our Nation builders. Must for those who are interested to dig deeper in this area

Yea man I heard all the atrocities done by the Razaakars, Komaram Bheem(the Bheem from RRR) was not fighting the British but the Nizam and Razaakars. Thank god for Patel or Telangana would've become another mini Pakistan.

a realist like Sardar Patel was needed during initial years after independence as compared to Nehru - the idealist who lived in an utopia.
They focused on getting nobel prize a global attention, than focusing on the living standards of people.
Nehru was a visionary but he was no perfect. Nehru was the reason for setting up PSUs , IITs, IIMs, constitution etc..
Ultimately, Patel and Nehru served the congress and were close associates.
An armchair elitist flaunting his Socialistic ideals. Everyone voted for Patel, Nehru was cozying up to Gandhi who ultimately put him in the front seat of being the Prime Minister.
