As a musician, the sounds that this Honda makes is rather soothing. Driving this thing will be very relaxing, i can tell. I'm impressed! Great stuff.

@@RaitisRidesIt looks like a jeep and it's got jeep tail lights too. Something is suspicious. Did Honda hire jeep designers to design the prologue! Because it looks just like a jeep. Honda design is failing. The new accord is bland and hideous. The only thing it offers is it's size.
Here’s a fun fact. Car companies are pushing hybrids due to them not being able to produce an EV with profit.
Hybrids are just a transitional period between gas and fully electric. Don’t forget that. And don’t invest a lot into the future of hybrids. They won’t be around much longer.

I hope Honda has tweaked the Prologue enough to differentiate it from the Blazer EV. Personally, I'd never buy a vehicle that GM has designed, but to each their own. Great review!

Disappointed that its range is under 300 miles.would like somewhere in the 350-400 mile range.
Meanwhile a man drove a diesel powered Audi Q7 and achieved 630 miles on a single tank.
If I was looking for an EV, which I’m not, this would probably be at top of the list……..if it feels more Honda than GM . Color matched door handles for me……..black over wheel well not too bad because not too high. Thanks Joe and Lori ! 👍👍 ……and Steven 😃

Looks like Honda has a winner here except for the price. Good luck buying one at MSRP.
You can actually lease one with $11,500 in tax credits and rebates… under MSRP. Just got mine with zero out of pocket and $596 per month.
My dealer is selling Prologue Touring AWD for 45k after tax credit, so way below MSRP already. July 4th they had them for 37k, I just missed that sale.
@@joelarosee8355 Did you get the Elite? Right now on Honda's website I can configure an AWD Touring for $420 a month and no money down other than the first payment and some fees. Really considering trading my CR-V sport since we will still have my wife's CR-V hybrid for trips out of town without having to worry about charging. Did it affect your insurance costs significantly?
You'll want to lease them first and if I have learned anything, EVs depreciate a lot and aren't worth purchasing right off the bat.

Of all of the EVs that are on the market, I like this one the best. It looks sharp yet plain at the same time, and the interior is simple and well-laid out. It would be nice if Honda would make it available as a plug-in hybrid. That way, one could make the most of an electric range locally and not have to worry about the availability of charging stations and wasted time on longer trips. Also, the price of this and most EVs remains quite expensive, out of reach for a great many folks. Finally, unless one has ready access to charge their EV at their residence, it is, for all intents and purposes, impractical.
I saw one on the road. It is surprisingly wide. I didn’t expect it to stand out as much as it did.
It is a midsize which makes it larger than a CR-V
I like the black accents on the body, but The Chevy Blazer EV looks better. However, this vehicle still has Apple CarPlay. That reason alone is enough to make me consider this over the Blazer EV. Just wish it had a more aggressive, sporty look to it.

I like the design and love this color, but the starting price is just too high. There are other EV and hybrid options already on the market that may make this an also-ran.

I'm a long-time Honda guy. I test drove this, and I just didn't get a Honda vibe out of it. Maybe I'm just not used to such large vehicles. The Honda Fit EV was a blast! So glad I was able to lease one of the very few ever made.

My wife and I have reserved a Prologue and we are planning to buy it when it arrives. This review confirms my impression that it will be an excellent car with full electrification to both have a great experience behind the wheel and help save the planet.
Absolutely love everything about this Prologue! Honda design, newest GM tech and modern infotainment, Bose audio, actual leather seats unlike rubber seats in the Lyriq, front wheel drive long range. Give me a federal tax credit and I will get one. The best thing that came out of Honda since 2003 Element.
Love the design. It feels like a Honda inside. I would go with this over the Blazer because they offer Apple car play support. Would love a cheaper HRV size version offered in the future.
The colors of the front and rear wheels are all very cool. It looks like the Honda design team has finally started working.

I dont know Joe, nothing about this vehicle is really doing anything for me. Forget about EV, I would take the Blazer EV( without software issues) or Lyriq if I had the money. The issue I believe with this Prologue even more than the Acura ZDX is the interior just seems like a collection from the GM parts bin, with a Honda badge on the steering wheel. TFL was talking about that at the Chicago Auto Show. Even the column shifter is the same! How will Honda customers receive this? It's up to them. Honda + GM = Reliability reputation diminished 😞
You haven't driven any new Hondas vs new GM to compare? GM parts inside Prologue are better than Honda parts. Most new Hondas have terrible cheap plastic inside. I had 5 new Honda cars over 20 years and Prologue is the best Honda vehicle on the market right now because it is made by GM, especially on the inside. Prologue has sharp handling, but it is also GM comfortable. It drives so smooth, it really reminds me of Cadillac Lyriq. The best of both worlds, but most people will react the same - oh GM, it is not Honda. Well, it is better than Honda.

Test drove this new Prologue AWD Touring today. LOVE IT! Definitely getting one next time they have a big sale. Prologue has enough knee room, unlike other Hondas with extra-wide center consoles. Prologue drives better than CRV, HRV and Pilot - I tested all 4 of them today to figure out which one I like. It is a hidden gem, it has wireless CarPlay. Most people will never even test drive it to find out how amazing it is. Local dealer has Prologue FWD Touring for 42k right now, 45k for AWD - the same price as CRV Sport Touring Hybrid, which is much worse in every way.
The prologue should qualify for the $7500 credit, right? Great review as always Joe!

It’s a much better looking than than the Blazer, and a big plus for offering Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a big mistake for GM for not.

This is just a silly personal reaction, but the wheels make me think I'm looking sideways at a ceiling fan.
I am not sure why the trend is to put white leather/materials in new cars; especially EVs. Here we have a vehicle that you can get self-sealing tires for "extreme" use and then provide a white interior that will look like junk after a few weeks of use in that same "extreme" environment. Just general day-today use, wearing jeans, hauling kids and pets will cause it to look junky quickly.
because: Tesla Bros. It is indeed the most ridiculous trend ever. yeah there's a reason why the Legacy OEM'S never offered it before now (because it was always a bad idea that would only serve to REDUCE the second hand value of the vehicle in the used market).

Loyal Honda customer here. Our family has a Civic and two Fits. Disappointed with how long it has taken for Honda to get into the EV market. Comparing this Prologue with the 2024 ID.4 we've ordered, I feel good about sticking with the ID.4.

No frunk, a high price and questionable range.
Why don't you go into more detail on range? Like, do you charge to 80% or 100%! What is the actual usable range between charges?
My opinion of Honda has been, a good family vehicle with mediocre styling that will last a long time.
Self-sealing tires won't help if you have a blowout. I prefer the Honda badge over having it spelt out.
It also looks messy to me because it's not all caps

The j series in general really was an underrated engine. Made decent and smooth power, sounded awesome and were very reliable.
K24 is where its at. But this Prologue beats any new Honda right now. How do I know? I tested it today vs all other new Honda SUVs.

I really appreciate the body style, especially the room in the cargo space. The number one thing I wish Honda would equip with is the blindsight assist in the side mirrors

It is good to make an EV option, but to think of a great company like Honda going full EV as their goal makes me shudder. There are simply too many tough problems to solve such as recycling, battery fires, and cost. Hopefully, consumers will continue to rebel with their wallets and companies will adjust their goals as a result.
The next 10 years are going to be interesting to watch in the auto industry

If you look at statistics, ICE cars catch way more fires, around 8 times more often. Gas tanks can also explode under right conditions, yet we are sitting on them every day. Batteries can be recycled, just like our regular acid car batteries are recycled today. Cost is getting lower every year, this Prologue is around the same price and size as Honda Passport, while being much more comfortable with much newer infotainment tech.

We are trying to decide between the Honda and the vw ID4. We like the looks of the Honda better-which did you think were better. Our -#1 comfort; electronics; cost of owning.

When you went on throttle from a stop, did it seem like the power lagged a bit from the time your foot stabbed the throttle to the time it got up to speed? Maybe the video looks a bit different from how it is in person.
Can the driving sound be shutoff?
I'm a Honda guy since 91' (civics and Accords) and I love this Prologue but just don't want an EV 😣

Just a suggestion, but if in your travels you are ever in the vicinity of a car museum or classic sales dealership, please do a video of some trailblazing classics and what makes them special. I'll bet there are viewers such as myself who would love a closeup of a George Barris creation, for example. And don't forget the Judge GTO!

Zonk on not having a frunk. I went to the dealership to see it and I was surprised not to see it. Great vehicle overall!
The Prologue's design is very nice. The size. and the interior are user friendly as all Hondas are. The gloss wrap on the door handles , bottom of doors, and around the weeles will scratch and not age well. The price of the Prologue is excessive. It should be at the same price as a CR-V Hybrid. After all, EVs are said to cost less to build since they have considerably fewer parts. The time of the Tesla cult is over. This is when consumers thought EV's were magical cars. Question: Is the throtle noise on at any speed? Or is it similar to the CR-V Hybrid only on when driving at very low speed or backing up. The fact that the Prologue will be able to also use the Tesla charging network is a plus, BUT the charger door on the Prologue is on the left. To use the Tesla charge stations it should be on the right. I am a long time Honda buyer and hope one day the Prologue will be correctly priced. I would buy it in an intant.
I can't front Raiti. I bash most cars in Hondas line up. But this is a legit nice design. A whole step up from the model on the streets. They are definitely going to trade their models in for the upgrade. Nice.
I swear door pockets are getting smaller. I used to be able to lay my small umbrella down sideways in them
The front looks like a VW Tiguan and the back looks like a Range Rover
A FRUNK would be nice and a larger rear under floor storage compared to the limited underfloor rear space on this example. Its nice to have the head up display, Would still go with the Tesla model Y instead.
I saw it in person for the first time in person, but I don't know if I'm ready to buy an electric car, but if do it's going to be a honda for sure because honda pilot when I saw it I know is gas but 2024 tha way it drive and feels does take out tha Cadillac and Lincoln I care about holding it's value and tha pilot for me does look luxurious If you buy tha right packages

Maybe stupid question…………..when you are doing one pedal drive, coming to a red light or stop sign, how does it know when to stop ? Thanks !
It depends on how much pressure you have on the gas pedal, if you’re completely off it does regen braking/actual braking (depending on what kinda car/regen setting you have)
its more about you should know what regen braking is capable of and get use to one pedal driving. You should always use the traditional brakes to prevent accidents. Different cars have different levels for regen braking. The car doesn't know unless its the active collision control kicking in, which will clamp the traditional brakes anyways.
20:35 Lifts cargo floor up. Front right of cover, where it pivots near floor itself, LOTS of water dripping... more than just a few drops from the rain after opening. Where's that water from? (Can also see lots of water on that inside plastic wheel/fender cover... ) A well designed hatch should not allow water egress when opening the hatch, and it's not raining sideways....
Not a fan of EVs but this one does look pretty good, probably one of the best looking EVs on the market right now.
They did get the looks down very nicely.

Black Door Handles are looking ok on the great body color. Honda had done a good job again. Glass roof shouldn't be standart.
Why does the single motor have more range than the dual motor? Is the dual motor AWD?
I feel like not having Heated seats in the 2nd row at 60K is a zonk.

a 1966 Olds Toronado had front wheel drive and a flat floor front and back for more room too... It was much more futuristic looking and actually beautiful
I've test driven an Ioniq 5 & Tucson Hybrid and they were quieter when accelerating from 0-60mph. The Ioniq 5 I barely heard any noise other than low fan noise inside the cabin. I was paying very close attention seeing that our current 2020 sonata is rather noisy inside the cabin. I had a 2013 Honda Accord which was quieter than the prologue it seems. It's a bit disappointing for an EV SUV at $60k.

I really love this model. Sucks that the EX doesn’t have some of the add ons that the ELITE does even tho it wouldn’t cost a lot more to add them in. 59k MSRP may not be a pretty price but I do agree you get a lot more than a tesla model provides. I just wish it got over 300 miles of range. I’d like to see how these pan out over the next 3 years then I’ll consider biting that MSRP lol. Great video thanks for sharing!

I'd much rather have an HR-V hybrid. The rest of the world already has that in the form of the ZR-V, don't know why Honda is so slow to bring it to America

I’m assuming the Prologue doesn’t have memory seats. So convenient in my Accord as the seat moves back for easier access and resumes position for driving. I also wonder about the white patches on the top of the dash producing glare when driving in the bright sun.

Honda did enough to make this a better car than GM's own offerings.
This will be discontinued in 4 years. Just a stop gap before Honda makes their own EV. Or until they lean more into hybrids like the successful companies are doing now. You can get one of these at deep discounts, just wait.
It will be interesting to see how it all pans out.

I liked the Chevy Blazer RS that you reviewed better (IMO the exterior looks sportier) and the black and red interior popped, I'm not ready for a full EV vehicle unless it hits that 400 - 450 mile range area like the Silverado or Sierra EV pickups when they come out some day.
I like a lot of things here, but for the price, I would like better tech larger screen, some other self driving type of tech etc..
I want to love it, but the GM part kind of hurts it to me and when I compare a Tesla to this, since in my opinion, Tesla is the only company to get the infrastructure right, charging network and most importantly the software and tech in the car right.
For 50k I can get a real nice Tesla with some great options.
For 60k even better, heck, I can get a 33kTesla brand new and have the same range and better performance.
I want Honda to succeed with these if they are going to make ev's then, I want them to be great, I think given a generation or two they could do something really cool, but time will tell.

I kind of rather have the motor showing in the front. Maybe they could decorate it with a cool engine cover or something. But at least that gives you an appearance of a normal ice car.
60k for a Honda just doesn’t do it for me. Not an EV buyer but that just doesn’t compute. I wish designers could figure out how to make a nicer cockpit. So much wasted space and then boom, giant screen.
I hate canned noises. It's a deal breaker for me. Both exterior and interior canned sounds should be optional. Colab with GM? Second deal breaker.
Good looking vehicle but most would stay away because it has a general motors attached to it. Honda should have reached out to Rimac or Tesla for battery tech and speed. Tesla would have allow them to redesign their own interior. HondaGM😩. Overall Nice vehicle 🤙🏾.
It looks very good but my thought is that it should have been a hybrid and then an electric version but it looks very good I like the style of the Honda Prologue 👍🏻
