- Join us this week @ABOARDMERMAIDMONSTER as we set off from the giant mooring ball in St Francis Bay, St John in the USVI and cruise to the island of Culebra, which is just off of Puerto Rico. Sometimes weather forecasts are right and sometimes (more often than not) they are wrong. What do you think we will encounter on todays cruise? It was forecasted for 7 foot following seas with a 6 second period. Hopefully that is not accurate. Watch as we ride the waves to Culebra, anchor in a squall and head in to town to explore this interesting little island. You will never guess what we found on the beach. Thank you for being here. This was very cool: my dad is from Puerto Rico and built a house on Zoni Beach in Culebra (sold it about 10 years ago). I’ve had many meals at the Dinghy Dock and climbed the tank on Flamenco when I was a kid! Hope you enjoyed your time there - thanks for the memories.

This video brought back memories of My time in the Canadian Navy, and we did Naval Bombardment exercises on Culebra in the 70's. At one of the exercises' we were partnered with a US Battle Ship like the Missouri, and seen her fire a broad side, what a sight. Fare Winds and Following Seas.

While on my third ship in the Navy, I discovered the wonders of Dramamine. All those years of headaches underway, were mild sea sickness. Dramamine and a nap are good for you.🤣

Watching you anchor in the wind next to the sailboats, I realized how much freeboard your nordhavn has! about the same as having your mainsail up on a sailboat. I am considering both avenues and it is something to consider but looks like great fun.
Wow beautiful family, the boat isn’t too shabby either. There are always compromises with a boat lifestyle, turning one of three a/c units off isn’t so bad. Thanks for sharing.

Yes we love it. Great boat for a family. We experience about 5-6 gallon an hr burn at 7.5-8kts

I am from Australia and understand the awful weather reports and their accuracy, i didn't think we would survive a few times as weather would say was around 15-20 knots and would be that for few days.
We would go out 70 miles off the coast fishing and get gaught in 30-45 knot winds as the weather report was awful.
Fun in a 28 foot fishing boat in seas 30-40 foot high.
Can babies get seasick and how can you tell?
9:11 describing TDS as salt to fresh is a little weird.😂 Fresh water out of the tap at home will not test at 0ppm.

Put in some lithium batteries an get a couple excercise bikes an wire up some alternators to them n put those kids to peddling an recharging those batteries make em work for that good fresh water don’t let them take it for granted world class cyclist in the makin
