I think I need to look into solar power and/or save to have a whole house generac hooked up to the house. If I was in Texas I’d be suffering when I run out of gas! My generators have saved me SO many times but that’s because the power always comes back on after 3 days at the most. I’ve never been tested for a week with my plans. I even fill my freezer with ice for the food so I don’t have to hook it up to the generator too long.

Excuses, excuses, excuses... all we keep hearing from Patrick. I'm not even blaming him because I 'm sure he's actually working. But Abbott has certainly not done crap during this whole thing. I lived in FL for 26 years and this happened back in 2005 with Charley to some areas of Tampa but not the entire city! After that we would have thousands of trucks ready to go the day after the hurricane passes.

To me that should’ve been in their plans before they started the business. Now they have to restock when they get power! That will cause them to lose even more money depending on their food suppliers. Some small businesses don’t factor in a business expense that large.

Just like the owners of CenterPoint could’ve had back up plans ready for a disaster at anytime?…🙄 who has more resources for preparedness? A multibillion dollar company with federal subsidies, or a small family opened business in a local neighborhood??…

The people of texas have known their power grid was outdated for years... yet have given private companies sole power to determine if they want to spend profit margin to fix it. Deregulation at its finest am i right?

Lol. The same hurricane hit several other states and they aren’t seeing millions of people without power. Maybe your politicians sold you out to corporate interests while they took away your ability to replace them.
