Loving the series! I haven’t played this in years it’s exciting to see what has changed. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, mate. A lot has changed, but it's still a fun game.
Wonderful to see how you improved! It's quite the step-up in level! But don't worry about showing your ships getting sunk in your videos. Every single NA player looses at least a ship a day, and I'd be a liar if I didn't admit that I sometimes lose more than 1 ship. It's part of the game, and you would be far from the first TH-camr to show your defeats.
The "issue" is that most people on YT show their finest fights and their most glorious Port Battles, while these are usually uncommon. But if you look at even the best players, like Captain Reverse, he typically gets sunk at least once during his streams. I know it doesn't make for a good showing, but it's how the game really is. I guess most of us here watching your channel are here for "real Naval Action" gameplay. In any case, I don't mind it because I know it's how things really are!
On another note, I think it would be great if you had a Discord server so that we could set up duels and sail around with you during Patrol Zones! Even viewers that are not in the same nation as you can join in your battles and help during the PZ. Plus, this community is far more relaxed and less toxic than the mainstream NA communities, I'm sure we'd have lots of fun! It could be a little Libertalia!
I've been practicing to produce better content, I'm glad you feel it's starting to show. I've not heard of Captain Reverse, but will keep a weather eye out for him, and I'll also try to keep the series as real as possible and show a good mix of triumphs and tragedies. As for the Discord server, I've been thinking about it, but it takes a lot of time to run one properly. I may create one at some point, but will just concentrate on getting into a habit of uploading regularly for now.
loving the content. and great hearing some master and commander soundtrack in the background, my favourite age of sail movie
a tip for aiming bow and stern guns, if you aim at a ships hull they will typically shoot at a very steep angle downwards, to prevent this i always aim at the horizon, and that makes the guns aim straight, parallel to the water
Thanks, I give that a try
Glad that I manage to watch this vid before going to work :)
Haha nice, glad I posted early then o7
your rakes are getting alot better, we should have a duel Kairo, id love to test your skill and help you improve your pvp if it's somthing your inerested in :)
Thanks, man. I've been practising rakes and leak sinking to improve the channel content. And I'm always up for a duel: I don't have an official Discord, but you should be able to find me if you look me up on the NA servers.
What the George... Lol
Sounds like a good game plan but i like the series so I’m in anywazzz. 😂
Just a question for you. You said you realised mid battle you weren't in a patrol zone. I couldn't see how you were able to work that out. What indicator is there during battle to see if you are in a patrol zone or not?
There's a circle around you can see on the horizon, if you sail beyond that you lose the PZ match. I could see there was no circle
Guys, I have a question. I am new to this game and tried a patrol zone, attacked an AI-Brig, an an enemy player intervended. Bigger ship, more cannons, more men... so I bailed. He did not hit me really, just a scratch, which was repaired in no time. I managed to run and after a while he quit to chase me and turned back. But after crossing that white line my ship (which was in best condition) suddenly sunk an I got the message that he sunk me. What happened? Can't you disengage in a patrol Zone?
It's been a while since I did any pvp, but if I remember right, you do indeed auto lose if you leave a battle in the patrol zone. It's basically a deathmatch area, so only enter it with ships you're happy to lose.
@@kairos4486 Thanks, that's good to know!
I have to disagree with your notion of building a workshop. I built mine only to find that the ingredients needed for the good upgrades are only available as drops now and that the upgrades themselves drop far more often. Build the forge, you'll always need cannons!
That's fair. Personally, I don't see why you shouldn't have both. After all, you've gotta do something with all those doubloons, but prioritising the forge is valid.
what happened to the series?
Unfortunately I had to move to another town, so I don't have a gaming PC any more. I hope to return to youtube one day though.
@@kairos4486 No gaming PC? what has the world come to! Best of Luck Kairos
Might be a little dumb but the only thing preventing me from buying this game right now are the combat visuals. Mainly the cartoonishly large and slow cannonballs, the chunks of wood flying off the ships when they get hit, and the smoke effects that all just looks a little too much like Sid Meier Pirates. If they ever do a revamp of combat visuals with a focus on realism I'd jump in.
I was hesitant to buy it aswell, but I saw today that the game is free. Still didn't try it myself, but if you want to try it, you don't need to spend money on it.
I like the smoke and cannon effects, myself. I think if you don't care for cartoonish effects, you're kind of out of luck. NA for all it's defects is still the only serious Georgian Era ship game; everything else is Pirate fantasy.
@@fragwagon The effects aren't necessarily bad, I think with just a few tweaks they could be vastly more realistic. Its like the devs think that someone is not going to realize they are taking fire unless giant cartoon wood pieces fly off their ship, or they won't be able to tell where they are shooting unless they see a big cannonball fly from their ship to the enemy.
@HH-dd2xq I'll agree with that
ITS FREE ON STEAM RIGHT NOW GUYS. I LOVE YALL
