That opening should be a real movie, Critic having sympathy for the abuse kids made me happy, and I forgot how awkwardly nasty this film was, thanks for ripping it apart.
Something Original plot does sound interesting, it just needs some tweaks. Ok the two characters backgrounds we can keep, someone who gives people the gift of strength and someone who can give people the curse of sickness and death, and the plot of them battling each other sounds good, just don't make it something like Zod and Superman, make it more like Jessica Jones, like its several hours of darkness and serious situations and an evil cruel villain with a deadly superpower. Also get more detail on that man who told them to fight, he can be considered the real big top villain, someone wanting chaos and destruction. Maybe u could end up having the two characters work together to stop him but it should go back to them hating each other. Also we need special names, sure we can simply just make normal names but we could get away with awesome names, like the woman can be called Brawn, and the man can be called Pestilence. as for the third guy, idk tbh he seems like a Kingpin sort of guy, so maybe The Master Planner or something. Finally we need a new title cuz it cant be Something Original, if u want it an actual movie then u gotta give it a proper title, like Life and Death or Brawn
I was a kid when I saw this and I got the RCA dog visual gag. And the back and forth jabs between West and Loveless were fantastic. I love this movie :P

ChestRockwell24 Guilty as charged. I watched first minutes, opening statement as you may, and was confused. I liked it as a kid. Rewatched it 10 times at least, total.

He finally got his spider@@randallbesch2424
That opening should be a real movie, Critic having sympathy for the abuse kids made me happy, and I forgot how awkwardly nasty this film was, thanks for ripping it apart.
+Josh Korte a good meal :P
Sounds like a bad Shyamalan movie. Well, a regular Shyamalan movie.
+RexVergstrong TBH a Shyamalan movie is better
Favorite part: “Yo mama's so fat *YOU’RE IN A WHEEL CHAIR!”*
MECHANICAL SPIDAHS!!! A GIANT LEGION OF MECHANICAL SPIDAHS!!!
Do you know who could defeat a mechanical spiders? CHUCK NORRIS!!!
Well he can drown a fish underwater
Uwe Boll!?!?!?!?!?!
PISS OFF DR SMITH!
IT'S NOT WORTH IT
Will Smith in green dress is just practice for Aladdin.
Its rewind time!
Tony Goldmark discussed that in his _One Movie Later_ on the _Aladdin_ remake.
Honestly, I love this movie. It's great fun. One of my favorites as a kid.
Aaron Meyer me too
The steam punk stuff in it was pretty cool imho
Maverick with Mel Gibson was a better attempt at revisiting an 60s Wild West TV show!
I was a kid when I saw this and I got the RCA dog visual gag. And the back and forth jabs between West and Loveless were fantastic. I love this movie :P
yeah i was young when i saw it I liked it
This movie is booboo
This movie is also the second movie where Kevin Kline plays both the President and an impersonator. The first was Dave.
Well shit... I really like this movie though. Anyone else?
Yeah, damn Burger King promos
Whenever this movie is in tv I no longer need my remote.
REALLY dont get all the hate, its harmless.
Jay Dowg
It is. It's a fun little adventure movie.
I laughed at all of the terrible jokes, but that doesn't mean it's good ~
This movie holds a special place in my heart because my mother got us tickets to the recently constructed Cineplex in my city that had a special event the day before the grand opening to the public and this was the movie they were playing. There was free food/popcorn and the arcade games were set up so you didn't need to place quarters in to play, it was a great day. 😁
Just remember people, Will Smith turned down The Matrix to be in this movie
Will Smith was doing Keanu a favor. Thanks to Keanu we have John Wick.
Am I the only one who really liked Wild wild west?
ZMBY Minds Nope. It used to be one of my favorite movies.
Still a good movie for me. lm actually amused at the "touch my breast" part.😅
It's a guilty pleasure of mine.
I enjoyed it... quote it all the time lol
I liked it
I know it is a little late but.... I just got to say, this intro is one of my Top 5 Best Nostalgia Critic's Intro (the list include Batman & Robin as well as the Matrix)
Thanks! Something Original is what we all need!
Hahaha! No problem, Hi! to the actors and the production team as well, being a fan for a long time now, no regrets at all ;)
Hmm... Lets take this statement with a grain of salt.
We need this as a movie it would be amazing! Get to it Doug.
Yes people, so go and watch them. Plenty of orignal movies in the teatre not being watched becuse they are´t based on something popular.
9:20. "An armed Negro cowboy costume in a room full of white Southern slave owners..." and thus Django Unchained was born. Hmm maybe that's why Quentin wanted Will Smith for the part.
Honestly, I didn't mind this movie, it still has its moments.
aznpikachu215 if it wasn't named wild Wild West would it be as bad?
sofullofpiss That's really strange
aznpikachu215 no no it didn't
Same here
KENNETH BRAUNAUGH IS A MECHA SPIDER!
I saw this in theaters while I was on vacation as a kid, we had Burger King..... there was a promo going on at the time for the movie, I enjoy this movie to this day
Wait, WWW is a BAD movie? I liked it as a child, and I still like it. Let's see what them critic has to say.
were you watching it in a space station or something? everybody knows www is meh xD
Hold on did you come and comment on the video before you even watched it?
I didn't take it seriously. Heck, it was the first thing I ever saw as a kid that came close to showing both alternate history and steampunk.
It might be bad (man, his rapping seems so dated now), but it's still good. Just don't think of it as a "true" western.
ChestRockwell24 Guilty as charged. I watched first minutes, opening statement as you may, and was confused. I liked it as a kid. Rewatched it 10 times at least, total.
We all have the movies we loved as a child and still love because we've still got our nostalgia glasses on. Hell, I still love James Cameron's Avatar.
The fake trailer "Something Original" actually looks like an amazing movie.
But the Hollywood would probably still screw it up.
Agreed
Came back 4 years later to leave the exact same comic. When will Something Original be in theatres
I feel like I'm the only person who actually liked this movie as was always confused as to why people thought it was so bad. I'm also a weird person who completely got the dog looking into the horn joke as a child...
Don't worry, you're not the only one who likes it.
I also liked the movie :)
It was a dumb, fun, summer movie. It ticked all the boxes, it had cool themes and I really loved that big ass spider. Yeah some of the jokes sucked, but I love cheesy movies, that dont take themselves too seriously.
If you loved Wild Wild West, you guys will love Sharknado, The Room and Movie 43.
Lmao 🤣
remember: Will Smith turned down the role of Neo in The Matrix to do this movie
Hindsight am I right
Good. Smith can be a tremendous actor but I don't see him as Neo at all.
I always wonder what Keanu’s career would have been if Smith was Neo?
Wait, is he kidding? Are there actually people who didn't like this movie? That's not possible, right?
I actually liked the movie.
Me too!!! My whole family liked it
MCVivi Yeah, but he should at least be able to tell a great movie like this one from a bad one.
Kid: I don't wanna see Wild Wild West!
Mom: Well what else is there to watch?
Kid: South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut
Mom: Fair enough.
Wtf he was playing both roles?? I legit never knew that and I've loved this movie since it came out. Got me to go to burger king as a kid over happy meals at McDonald's
Wild Wild West was pretty bad. But .. the music video was dope af. Kool Moe Dee, Stevie Wonder, and The Fresh Prince
"Something Original" is clearly based off of Holly Black's _The Curse Workers_ series. You liars.
Really? I've never read the series, but I know of it... Is it good?
I've never heard of that so it's likely they haven't
A thing for OP to also consider is the message Nostalgia Critic gave in Osmosis Jones ^u^
Connor Tyler
Or Unbreakable.
close, but no cigar, while the characters in that one do have similar powers, none of them could give a man superhuman strength or invincibility, nor could any of them kill with a touch. plus the plots of the two are completely different.
Like if you actually want to see the "something original" movie.
Unbreakable 3
That's to scary for me
I wanna see it! But then it wouldn't be original!
People cry, not because they are weak. It is because they've been strong for too long. - Johnny Depp
Vegeta Solo that's a miss quote, it was obviously said by Johnny Deep not Johnny Depp.
This isn't based on Wild Wild West the TV show it's based on the Music Video Wild Wild West by Kool Moe Dee.
The only relationship that has with this is a black cowboy
"Mind if I ask you a question?"
"I do actually."
Right up there with "Shut that door!" in being the best last line in a piece of media lol
The reason she says he's her father and not her husband is she thinks they wouldn't help her if they didn't have a chance with her? I think?
That is exactly so.
Help her do what? What was her purpose in the movie? I mean, besides to be Selma Hayek.
The One and Only Michael McCormick One of the scientists that went missing was her husband so she was trying to do her own investigation in finding out what happened to him. She lied to Gordon and West about the scientist being her father because she thought they would be more interested in helping her track him down if they thought they could get into her skirts.
+Corrine Thrasher Wait...but wasn't it their job anyway to track down the scientists?
+The One and Only Michael McCormick Yes but she didn't know that at first. And when she did, she wanted to come along rather than be left behind. They did try to leave her behind once.
Imagine Wild Wild West remake with Jayden Smith and Adam Sandler, and this movie doesn't seems so bad all of a sudden
Who? Rob Schneider? ( ͡º ͜ʖ͡º)
I'll try to imagine it more clearly after I stop screaming in horror.
They already made it. It's called Ridiculous Six & instead of Jayden Smith it's Taylor Lautner. Netflix right now. Go ahead and look. It's... TERRIBLE.
Taylor Lautner, Adam Sandler and Rob Schneider in one movie. I bet this movie was financed by North Korea as a retaliation for "The Interview"
The only way to remake this is to make the entire film about the giant robot spider destroying stuff!
Salma Hayek sounded more invested when she played a lesbian taco =/
+TheAlexagius Stop encouraging him.
I just came back from the theater seeing that movie! I agree 😂
Wat
The Framemaster(Ben_ToaofFire) Sausage Party =3
Sausage Party?
Loveless was originally played by a dwarf. They just cheated a dwarf out of a part.
Yes a fantastic actor named Micheal Dunn.
@@radioflyer68911 The dwarf in question is better off not being in this movie.
That guy laughing maniacally at 1:57 always cracks me up!
To be fair, I did enjoy Lovelace as a character mainly because everything else was so bland compared to his performance.
That's the magic of Kenneth Branagh, best part of this movie is knowing him and Will Smith got paid to be there.
I love this movie beyond words.
It has a giant mechanical steampunk Spider.
Do I need to say more?
THERE IS A GIANT MECHANICAL SPIDER IN IT!
Stop THINKING about it!
GIANT ROBOTS ARE COOL
Excuse invalid, sorry.
Honestly I think that was the main thing I remembered about this film ever sense I saw it. The Giant Spider Robot.
So you like Transformers? That's fine I guess...
@@tristanhartup4936 I agree though, I'm so sick of the videogame cgi diarrhoea on screen in movies these days, that something that looks mechanical was a breath of fresh air
Giant spider, yes, but... magnets... they don't... they don't work that way. Not even close. It's painful seeing that.
The “I knew it line” during the touch my Brest scene was fucking great. It implies the old engineer all ready thought they were twinks
I CAN NOT be the only one who loved the Wild Wild West.
I don't dislike it, but i agree with some point of NCGuy. For me, it's entertainning but have some awkward moment too.Did you love it from the beginning to the end?
+Lunjei Teohmacl for the most part. there wasnt much that i didnt enjoy.
I liked it. It definitely has some awkward moments and not all of the jokes land, but I find it entertaining nevertheless.
I'll like it if you date me baby!
You're not. I loved this as a kid. Still enjoy it.
Lol. I loved that opening skit. Tamara, Malcolm, you two are awesome, y'know that? Admitted, when the formula of Doug's stuff changed, I wasn't big on it... at first. Now, I give you unneeded welcome... about a year or two late, I think? Eh, oh well. Point is, you all are doing a great job. Keep it up.
Skit kinda started reminding me of Unbreakable, though. :D
LuckyOwl g
This is my guilty pleasure movie. The steampunk elements just add much joy to my heart.
The original show basically started steam punk.
Another weird thing about the belly dance scene is that the band in the room is playing along to the dance. Did Kenneth Branagh tell the band “memorize this Middle Eastern music so that if a strange dancer shows up in the middle of my victory speech you immediately play along so I can have a soundtrack for my public lap dance”?
The nadir for the movie I would kill to refilm since this is Will Smith not James T. West.
"Kentucky fried Jesus" is now my new favorite phrase.
I'm from Kentucky and I approve.
Well glad we're in the clear, we got two experts to sign off on it.
I'm Jesus and I approve
I like "Sweet batter dipped Jesus!" myself.
I'm Protestant and I now shall make this my catch phrase.
Major error in the movie. They show the capitol under construction. The Capitol dome was finished DURING the Civil War in which Grant was a General.
_Wild Wild West_..._After Earth_..._Suicide Squad_...
I think it's safe to say that Will Smith's career is *bulletproof*; no matter how many bad movies he's been in he still gets to be in whatever film he wants! :D
(Edit: Someone mentioned _Shark Tale_, and...they're right; that's another terrible Will Smith movie)
He's never the worst part of any movie he's in
+Rbdn T In fact his Deadshot was more often praised as one of the best parts of suicide squad
Tbh Suicide Squad isn't nearly as bad as After Earth or Wild Wild West. Not particularly good but WWW and AE are horrible movies, SS is just meh imo
I actually really liked suicide squad
Cody Hines Deadshot
I think Will Smith was trying to enjoy the sunset as to why he said "Actually I do Artie."
12:36 -- Dr. Strangelove reference FTW.
I actually didn't mind this film, I thought it was alright.
Also I would so watch Something Original
Andy The Hypster Its called Handcock
If I wanted to see Kenneth Branagh and Kevin Kline acting ridiculous I'd watch The Road to El Dorado instead.
And Shakespeare.
What about Frankenstein?
+Michael Glasgow Haven't seen it.
Alex Aceves
You should just see it once but all I have to say he hams it up directing and acting wise.
I KNEW I RECOGNISED THAT VOICE! Man I heard it and it just flipped something in my brain that told me I knew it.
To be fair, I did like the DVD segment where they showed how sound design can make or break a scene - it’s why I especially love good folly artistry
Something Original, like John Wick or Get Out?
Actually, yeah, I have to agree with you. I was going to say that this review was released a year earlier before "Get Out", but then I remembered that "John Wick" came out two years before this review.
He was more likely referring to how rare they are compared to adaptation.
1TrulyMad Or Kingsmen?
P Ariza I know Im late but Kingsman was a comic.
As someone that works at a movie theater, the projectionist hanging themself with the film strip is fucking hilarious. I can't say I haven't entertained the idea, though usually in regards to dealing with customers.
Though we have digital projectors now so it would be kind of difficult
Don't they have a cable on them to get electricity?
Could always put a magnifying glass in front of the lens and aim it at your head.
Aww... I miss Dr. Smith and his "Spiders!"
7:49 This was an obvious reference to 1993's Dave, where Kevin Kline did pretty much the same thing, only funnier.
That intro was just such a dream..... And our dreams were answered with "Get Out"
I actualy really like this movie.
Same it was awesome
It was a staple of my childhood I'm afraid to rewatch
It was ok, but i found it boring at times
alot of peaple did i havent met anyone that hated intell i came here
Honestly, same. I agree it's not a good movie, and it probably deserves the hate it's getting, but I still find parts of it amusing. And personally, I think the "touch my breasts" bit was pretty funny, just because of the train driver's reaction to what they're saying.
"the amount of dead air between could fill the space between stars!" XDDD my favorite line
@24:37 many an episode in the epilogue, Gordon found himself being dejected as the third wheel and on a handful of episodes, the beauty was the villain and they rode off into the sunset without a lass at either one of their side.
What do we have to do for you to do Fat Albert
+Jae Phalcon Maybe Doug is putting such a review on hold, with the Bill Cosby rape case still very hot.
+Cyrus Jed Binauhan I can understand, plus it's funny dark humor wise to make fun of Bill Cosby
Give him a drink made by Bill Cosby.
Actual video and review start at 2:40... Thank me later
_switch the numbers and you get.................... _*_420_*
aw come on. that intro was great!
And miss the glorious opening? No thanks.
To miss the most epic Nostalgia Critic opening ever!? Hell no.
No thanks that opening is too fucking fun
Actually the trailer for the first movie seemed loosely based on Unbreakable.
I would say derivative, not based.
***** I didn't say "based" I said "loosely based" which is the same as "derived" X'D
+00WhiteBlade njaaaaa...no.
That's what I got too! Makes me wish Doug and co would actually make it!
with a touch of the vampires apprentice
"Something original" looks like it would legit be an interesting and funny movie if they made it
