What he is saying about getting rid of the desires (after enjoying them to extreme) is quite resembling with what Osho used to say. Although Osho emphasized it for sexual desires (finally attaining complete celibacy) but it extrapolates to many things in life. When I didn't feel like studying before, I would intentionally stop studying for one day and the next day I could jump over the lessons and gobble them up right away. And his first statement 'what is hidden automatically generates infatuation for itself' quite well explains the sexual assaults against the women in conservative societies, where women are forced to hide themselves under thick outfits so that a man doesn't get turned on seeing her. Osho said that in the era of Christian extremism in Europe, when the women were forced to veil them up, a man just even seeing her toe would feel sexually turned on. Which is incredible as well as a quest for thinking. No doubt why rich people eat less, married people don't suggest others to get married and so on.
