What was the average speed for towing. What speed does it get a little squirly? What speed on freeway highway do you drive and feel is the sweet spot for towing.
Here in the UK the motorway / highway speed when towing is 60 MPH, so do that where possible, then back roads are 30 - 40 MPH typically.
If you pack right you shouldn't have any squirmy behaviour, if this happens you have too much weight in the back.
Hi Dale I think everything above 1.5 miles per kw is very good . Have you thought of going to a public Weighbridge the next time you go out ? It would be very interesting to no your total weight i.e. Car / car & hero / hero there are some not very far from you . ( i.e. Evesham Redditch Malvern ) I bet you are close to 3.5 tones total which makes 1.5 miles to the kw even more impressive
Ps I am sorry I did not reply to your June solar stats there was a bereavement in my family but I did like the format especially the in and out of the powerwall it just helps to no comparing it to a few others myself and John Tisbury
Hey Glyn, thanks for commenting and sorry to read about your loss.
Regarding the weigh bridge, I have agreed to be able to do this at the local recycling center, but its really a time issue. Its not really something I can do on a family trip, but have considered just the base spec weight (ie not all the stuff in it), but will wait until I finally get the roof tent ... IF they every deliver the sodding thing.
I just got back from another trip, 1.838 miles per kWh ... AWESOME.
Awesome I think that is absolutely outstanding just one last thing how do you know the weight on the toe hitch does the car tell you if so very impressive
No … that would be awesome. I use a calibrated tow hitch scale.
