For anyone who has ever wondered why pretty much any type of Spyder service starts at $300 ( & up ), this video shows why. Removing all that plastic is a pain in the buttinsky 😳😵😵💫 And even after you remove the plastic, you still almost need an engineering degree to find and replace the parts your working on. All that spaghetti wiring, limited working space, and yeah the spark plugs are in there somewhere 🤨🤪🤣. And then more fun... putting it all back together, and wondering where the heck did the whole weekend go !!! This video was fun watching, everything seem to go great for the install... but hmmm I wonder, did there happen to be any "ouch" or "what the heck" moments that accidently got edited out of the video ? 🙈🙉🙊
Well, Wayne, that is the absolute truth on the plastic removal and you have it even worse!! Yes, the mods where the plastic has been removed...suspension, led lights, led fog lights, end up taking the good part of a day. At least we don't have screws or pins left over like we do when we take apart the washing machine, lol! (Good news! This last time we only had two screws left over as opposed to the three that were left over the last time! 😅😅😅) Well, um, not going to lie, there was significant editing of the garage scenes... 😂😂😂💜💜💜😅😅😅

I remember you telling me that you were less then impressed after the shock swap and I'm glad it was just out of tune. 26,500 on the new shocks is amazing and there's no one more qualified to speak on their effectiveness. Great job as always on this video and keep up the great work Jody.

@Purple On Three I haven't put the LED headlights in yet. I just watched the LaMonster Garage video and saw all the panels that need to be taken off to get to the headlights. @@PurpleOnThree My friend Dave is going to do it for me and I'm going to watch. Not that i'll ever attempt to do it LOL, but at least I can say I know how it's done LOL.
I might want to argue that the stock suspension is adjustable. I just checked my 2023 F3-S, and it does seem they have preload adjustability. I would also question that Elka, although technically rebuildable, would cost almost as much as a new shock. Has anyone ever sent a shock back to be rebult outside of warranty and can post how much the cost was?
That could be on your model but not adjustable on my 2018... Which was an F3T basically made in to a limited. The Elkas are adjustable and certainly would cost considerably more if paying for the installation. Luckily I've got some handy dandy fellas in my life. Also, I test rode a 2023 F3 Limited special edition series last year and noticed that the suspension was considerably smoother on that model. I have thought of trading up but nobody wants a spyder with 72,000 mi on it for trade-in 😂🤷♀️

Thank you, Larry! 💜🤗 Hope you are feeling better! 🙏🙏🙏
Shocks, seats and handlebars are the three mods to make your ride your own. Congrats to Tommy for not losing anything. Cheers Dave
Now if we could just say the same about our washing machine repair skills, lol!! 😁😂💜
Love, love, love! This. Now that I have the baharon rod installed we're looking into changing out the factory shocks. My husband will definitely be watching your video Lady 😉
How long did it take for you to notice a difference with that Sway bar, sis? I have like no fear with that thing installed, lol! Looking forward to some twisties next week!! Woo hoo! Now what is this about a sprocket...I need to head over and watch that video. Man it's hard to watch, ride, and make content at the same time...no wonder I had a brain bleed...sheesh. I'm thankful to be riding again!! 🤗💜🙏🏼
Nice Job my friends 👍🏻
Thank you! Cheers! Hope you have a great week!💜
Seems a lot of people talk about suspension upgrades being the best upgrade they’ve ever done. I think one day I’ll find out.
I think you will too! Start saving your pennies...I don't think any of them are inexpensive....
Congratulations on the video.
Have a perfect day friend. 💚65
Thank you! You too!💜💜💜🙏🤗
So cool awesome upgrades love it so I brought all these thumbs ups for ya algorithms fam 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍💫💚
Much appreciated 💜💜💜
another great video
this should do well over time as people want to know about mods and upgrades
thank you so much, John...I sure do appreciate your input! It's nice when fellow content creators help each other out!!
nice 💜
Thanks 😄 and happy new year!
Sounds good
thanks, Edd! I liked it, but did add the S pipe from LaMonster and after a few rides, decided the baffle needed to be added as well...highway speeds made my head vibrate! Happy New Year!
If their history is based on off road stuff, then they know what they’re doing! ✌️
Absolutely!!🤗
Anything that improves stability and handling is always worth it. I know that I have to change the rear mono shock on my cruiser soon and can’t believe they want $900 for the part 🙄
Yikes! Is that something you can do yourself? I don't know what it would have cost if we had to pay for the installation as well...it took a good amount of time!
@@PurpleOnThree yep, I can do it myself. I just can’t believe the cost of the shock 😳
Crazy! But I'm glad you are able to do the install yourself.
hello, Anything that improves stability and handling is always worth it. thanks
Absolutely! Do you ride?
Rock on, should make the ride a lot smoother. I just purchased some Progressive Springs for my Goldwing... I just have to put them in now..
Tony, is that something you will do yourself? Once the rear one was adjusted properly, my ride improved greatly! Tommy is getting new shocks this year too...
@@PurpleOnThree My friend Dave is going to do it for me and I'm going to watch. Not that i'll ever attempt to do it LOL, but at least I can say I know how it's done LOL.
Job well done👍🏼
I'm glad I have family to help with installs...and save a little money!
I have thought of trading up but nobody wants a spyder with 72,000 mi on it for trade-in 😂🤷♀️
Wow, Elka Shocks looks great Jody, I'm happy for you🙏🏻
Ride safe always
From Jhoe Motovlog🇵🇭
Thank you! Be safe! Are you riding now?
OOOOOO....... Shiny and pretty - us girls love shiny pretty things..... LOL Loved the video Jody. Very informative.
🤩 oh yes we do, Leanne!! Thank you...I hope I can help others if they are trying to decide about a shock upgrade...
Makeover madness Yes from Canada !!!! Well done video was informative and interesting. Dipstick LOL.Sounds like a snowmobile with a bad muffler. When you started it with the muffler lose
Makeover madness, lol! Oh, the editing I must do when the brothers get together, lol...I loved how it sounded, but alas, now have an S pipe AND a baffle...no baffle made my teeth rattle, lol!
Great review looking to buy a set for the front this week, thanks!! We just met you up at the Three Wheeler Rally.
You're welcome! And thank you so much! Was great meeting so many nice folks! Will you be attending the Spyder Rally in Nixa Missouri? The shocks helped me navigate the rough Alcan Highway in the Yukon and in Alaska! 😅
@@PurpleOnThree yes we are attending the event. I took the pictures in the park for last year’s event. Plus a friend and I met you at the Walmart when you and your husband were getting ready to head home. Anyway thanks again
First!
🐙🦑😃🍾🎂🍰🍨👍👍👍
Woo hoo!! 💥💪🔥 You have just won yourself a free bike wash by TommyG...you can cash in your coupon the next time we are driving by Casa De Redneck...😂💜🤗 I'll let him know so he can schedule your bike wash...well maybe since you've been first before...it will be Three bike washes??? 🤷♀️🤷♀️🤷♀️😁

This video " Shocked " ⚡ me more than I thought it would. That might be a good thing, I haven't decided Yet. 🤪. NicelY Done. Thanks for sharing. StaY Alert. rYde Safe in a fun waY. Keep on SpYdering. 🇺🇲😎💜💜💜💙💙.
Lots of shocking going on here, lol!! Hope you are doing well!! 💜💜💙💙🤗🤗
Good time to wipe everything down while the plastic is off.
Stock shocks are never comfortable.
😎👍
That is a wonderful idea! Back in the day when I had two wheels, I never rode my motorcycles enough to care about upgraded suspension. But after miles and miles of riding, I can definitely understand why shock upgrades are on everyone's Christmas list! 🤗💜
Did the shocks make a difference for when you have to haul Tommy G back from the Hardley dealership? 🤪
Bah hah hah hah!!! Well, he definitely felt the bumps on the backseat as the pillion because I had not had the rear shock adjusted yet!! What a lovely reminder for him...he loves those rides!! 😂🤗💜
Cushy Tushy I always say!!
My bike needs nothing. Except suspension would be cool. I could spend 10k on parts.
Ray, you are not wrong about parts!! Holy smokes!! I'm glad your bike is good to go!! I think Tommy has to get upgraded suspension before we travel this year...hope you have a great rest of your Sunday! 💜🤗
Unfortunately those elka sucked had them on my bike for a week. Ended up going with Fox shocks love them no Issues.
Oh no, Dave! I wonder if they weren't adjusted properly ...like the issue I had with my rear one??? Anyways, I'm glad you like the Fox shocks!! 💜🤗
@@PurpleOnThree No they were. Sent them back to the rebuilt end up having the same problem after They were Fixed
@@the-d-man1013 they had to be rebuilt after a week's use? That sounds odd!
Being Canadian must be good eh ?
Eh? Yes, for sure! John just happened to be staying at the same hotel we were so we visited with him one evening!💜
I think after 26000 miles you are more than qualified to give your opinion.
it's just my humble opinion!🤗💜...thank you, Matt!
Firs..... well, Second!
Well, dang close, Xavier!! TommyG can wash your Ryker...that is the 2nd place prize!! Next time we are in Alabama you can cash in your prize! I'll be sure and let him know! 🤗😁💜
@@PurpleOnThree 😂😂😂
It would probably take him all of five minutes... Carnage is not as big as your Spyder!
@@BlakICE well... It may take a little longer just because he's pretty particular and would want to do an awesome job!! 🤗💜
Like my bike …. It takes a long time to remove all the Tupperware
Tupperware, foreverware....all the same!! I didn't realize you had a lot of plastic to remove to work on your bike, Eddie!
Lol, you done a great job, supervising, in your comfy chair 💺
Why, thank you, Jamie!! I was just following doctor's orders with elevating my foot, lol! Hope you have a great rest of your Sunday!! 💜🤗😅
