I have not read a lot of Stephen King but I really enjoyed On Writing. The Stand was good but I agree with you about the ending. 11/22/63 is also really good. I want to start The Gunslinger soon. I recommend his book The Eyes of the Dragon. It feels like fantasy written by someone who hadn't read fantasy for the two decades prior to writing it. It isn't that it feels dated or anything. It just lacks all the tropes and generally accepted ideas that fantasy was pushing at the time it was written.
I have heard that the Eyes of the Dragon is relevant to the Dark Tower universe with Randall Flagg being a character so I think I may check that out eventually.
It's all the same text but some of the British Hodder editions have larger fonts so my edition is about 1350-1400 pages. I have something similar with my "The Stand" edition. To name another example, my copy of "The Shining" has a very large font so it has far more pages than the standard edition.
I should pick up 'Misery' soon.
Good choice! Especially for a fellow writer!
Great job👍

@@TheAvidReaderBookReviews there is a "man in black" in the book.
It is a pretty good book.
Great content! Interested to know who are your first and second favourite authors, if King is your third?
First is Harry Turtledove, second is Michael Crichton.
@@TheAvidReaderBookReviews Thanks for sharing, I'm not familiar with Harry Turtledove
@@lew.parker No problem. Harry Turtledove writes alternate history, which is a subgenre of science fiction.
I recently bought 'IT' it's only around 1180 pages song not around 1400. Are there different editions?
