    Man I love Telecasters, and it was a dream of mine to build a bass using a Tele body, now, I’ve found the kit, and I’m even more impressed as I’m a lefty. Pitbull Guitars in Australia do them, and holy crap this looks super cool!

    From listening to the samples I would think that the tone knob would be essential on this bass as it seems to be very treble centric.

    • @LowEndLobster
      @LowEndLobster  4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Yup! And I'm glad it actually does something on this bass too. It's not the best, don't get me wrong... but the electronics were definitely the highlight of this instrument at this price point.

      Thanks Chris! This was early on but I'm glad I reviewed this. It's nice to see a well equipped (both in terms of accessories and instrument features) unconventional but classic-ish styled instrument. AIO made something really solid here for the price. It's not perfect, but it's different and solid enough to keep a player happy

  • @DVGTS1
    @DVGTS1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I bit the bullet and bought one. But with the mindset that I'll be upgrading it little by little over time. To counter the neck dive, I'm inclined to install lightweight tuners but the holes seem staggered. So I think Gotoh Res-O-lites wouldn't fit. Maybe a high-mass bridge to add some weight on the body. I'll eventually stick a Lindy Fralin single coil along with an EMG 35 and see what happens.

    • @LowEndLobster
      @LowEndLobster  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awesome! Let me know what you think!

    • @DVGTS1
      @DVGTS1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @bflo1000 Had to drill some holes for another bridge, didn't do anything else except put some flatwounds on it. Terrible neck dive, but the pickups are really decent. The neck pup sounds good with flats, especially since it's very treble oriented.

      Great question. I haven't tried a Hutchins, but from what I can tell those have a mudbucker and more classic style bridge pickup. I think the AIO will have a bit more tonal definition, but the Hutchins would sound more "old school" from what I can tell.

    That ugly tele bass sounded real nice. I'm glad my fellow Californians took pride in customer service, but as expected, charge a bit to much for being a new comer. Have you tried a Marcus Miller Sire bass? Those guys came out swinging with their "entry level" basses. I got a Sire V7 and it's the cats balls. Used 399. And the Squire 70 reissue is also real nice for the price, they didn't hold back, in my opinion. Anyway. Thank you for sharing. Cheers

    • @LowEndLobster

      LowEndLobster thank you for all the awesome content. Yeh you had that look in your eye when you brought up squire. If you get a chance to check out a Sire, they are real nice for the price range. I got mine not to long ago, they feel pretty good. I picked one up at a GC it was used and just came in and I spent a long time playing it. It was on hold for a couple weeks so I didn't pick it up right away. But when I went to my favorite used guitar store they told me that just "bought one a couple hrs earlier" I played that one for about an hour and they said it be for sale in 30 days so I was going to go with that one but I got impatient and started looking online and found one even cheaper at another GC in another state so I ordered it right away. Anyway, when I got it It played as well as the other 2 so, from my experience, they are a consistent build company. Anyway sorry for such a long story, got carried away. Cheers Lob.
