As one of the many who unfortunately "gets it" from past experience, _that_ scene hit me full on in the guts. It was hard to watch, but that young actor really poured the emotions out for it. The realizing fear in her eyes and screams when he says he "likes the fighters." Suddenly death is not the worst thing that's about to happen. The sheer desperation and terror combined with that last burst of strength. Then the absolute, all consuming berserker rage that just took control when she minced his azz was perfect. When Joel catches her and she just makes noises and looks so scared and lost I teared up. But I managed to hold it together until the "Baby girl, " comment. The personal growth, love, respect and protective instinct in just that sentence.... it broke me. I cried so hard. They better pull out all the stops if there is only one more episode. ❤️ 🙏 👏 ❤️ 💙
It's none of my business, but I can't imagine what you and many others have been through. No one should go through that, ever. I'm a cis-het man, and I realize that there are many experiences I will just never understand. I'm very sorry you went through that trauma.
Thank you for sharing your some of you perspective as a survivor. I’m sorry you have went through something like that but I wish a safe and happy future❤
Bella tells the story of her filming the 'baby girl" scene with Pedro, and he is shocked when he hears it. He assumed that she had just done the scene where she is attacked by David and kills him which prepares her for the emotional aftermath, but Bella tells him that she did that scene after the one with Pedro, not before. She did that with no prior scene to work from. When she did her scene with Pedro and the director said action, she just found that place inside herself that resulted in a totally believable portrayal of absolute trauma and the way that even with the comfort of Joel holding her and calling her baby girl that trauma is there and will be with her for a long time. Ellie has been changed in ways even she is unaware of yet and you can feel it. Bella did this cold, without anything other than her talent to work from.
weldone to the editor(s) for 1 getting this out so quickly, 2 for doing a good job with the editing and 3 for also getting the last episode back up. appreciate you and all that you do
18:28 for Joel to say that to Ellie it really cemented that he really thinks of Ellie as Sarah. The man lost his daughter and has never said that name to anyone ever since. The growth in his character and how much Ellie has become important to him shows. More so the chemistry between Pedro and Bella shines here. Pedro makes Joel so vulnerable here like he’s reliving that moment with Sarah and Ellie suffering the most traumatic experience she could have at this point next to losing Riley, Bella makes her feel so real to those who went through something like that. This scene alone is Oscar worthy.
Just loving the reactions to this series, not only are the reacts very real and go through a range of emotions, but really breaks ground as a variety team. Can't wait for the finale!
One thing that my girlfriend and I noted in this episode was when David and his flock were having their feast. The fact that he had a plate full of food and that his followers (even James his most trusted lieutenant) had small bowls of stew. Like this guy has a major ego trip.
On top of everything else I loved about this reaction and discussion, I also have to commend you two on your flawless use of "EW, DAVID" in this context. 😂
One thing I noticed, everyone in that group may "follow" David, but no one "loves" David. The fact that he enters the dining hall with stolen Elk and no one cheers or claps or even thanks him for providing food shows how he just irradiates discomfort. I wouldn't be surprised if a few of them wishes for David to be taken apart by a hibernating clicker.
Oh! I actually get to to comment, I mean I so rarely do comment. I was wondering if Mrs. Bells would figure out that was Troy Baker. My favorite part about this in the game and the show is that as horrific as the situation is for Ellie, she fucking saves herself. Joel fights his way to her but Ellie already freed herself. She is our hero. Bella Ramsey kicked it out of the park in this one. So much emotion, so well done. I am tearing up typing this just thinking of her scenes. Joel going beast mode... felt right. The ending, Calling her, "Baby girl" something you know he only said to his daughter (more tears sorry) so great and you see the broken watch his daughter gave him in the foreground and Ellie inthe middle of the shot... she is as important to him as his daughter. A+ reactions. I bought a new box of tissues for next week. Keep these coming!
I think that's the most distraught I've ever seen you girls. That stuff is hard to watch. In times of desperation we see the best and the worst parts of humanity. This episode represents the worst. I hope that none of us ever have to face anything this dire.
Absolutely amazing reaction ladies! I am on BOARD with the channel moving towards reactions to tv shows, Might I suggest doing a reaction to the PRIME Show called THE BOYS!!
yo idk how u2 get half of the shi as someone who played the game im like nahh these girls are smart ash I wouldn't catch half of the things like eating the dad / hella entertaining n love the humor
Omg you guys are amazing y’all reaction was the best because how you guys actually get it some men and women I’ve watched their reaction was like omg Ellie chill. But if they were in Ellie’s position I’m sure they would’ve done the same if even more…. At that moment you want to make sure this guy is dead

devastating scene to be sure. that scene does seem more powerful in this series. Bella Ramsey's ability to convey that pure rage is amazing.
This episode was incredible through and through. Everything about this was so powerful
Bella should get awards for that performance
No

This was a really hard episode. Terrifying and beautiful. Thank you, ladies, and editors, we appreciate all your hard work. Here for the finale.
Editor, you have my appreciation for showing these side by sides of the game and the show.
And next week Ashley Johnson (voice of Ellie) will be in the finale as a character too.

Pastor Dave's Church and Steak House, Soylent Green the specialty
It’s so true, Ellie’s rage was so justified, it broke my heart to see her overcome by it.

The actor playing David did SUCH a great job. I mean for a one episode villain, that actor went HARD for us! I felt dirty watching him on screen.
Im excited for this one the season finally
love the comparison shots between the show and game
Yours are the most spicey (and enjoyable) reactions of this series!
Your discussion of THE assault is spot on; thank you.
One more episode for a clean sweep of tears flowing for you two. Get ready for Sunday
So glad I was able to catch this one. Incredibly moving.

Bells: I've been looking for Troy Baker everywhere (as she watches Troy Baker as James walk away...)
The baby girl moment solidifies for me that he would never ever let anything happen to her
This is so awesome for everybody ❤

I think that's the most distraught I've ever seen you girls. That stuff is hard to watch. In times of desperation we see the best and the worst parts of humanity. This episode represents the worst. I hope that none of us ever have to face anything this dire.
You girls are so hilarious 😂 you remind me of me and my bff💕
Joel used to call Sarah baby girl so him saying it to Ellie adds a lot of feelings
