Awesome to see the game in action … knew you’d be the first to get a bat rep up! 🤣 The terrain looks bigger than I thought it would be. Great video and amazing job getting it all ready so fast 👊
We acquired some of those junk piles from the Mekboy Workshop terrain set a couple of years ago, but I'm liking the Octarius shanty buildings as well. Could be dual-purposed for post-apocalyptic games outside the 40k universe. Even better, put the buildings on an ocean mat for a Waterworld scenario.
This made me SO HYPE about the new Kill Team. Like this feels very granular and tactical, very distinct from the strategy game of 40k. You are making so many decisions for each model each turn (hidden or engaged, attacking or parrying, how to spend the limited action points, etc.). It rules
50:10 we played it like this too, but the rulebook says that moving up walls is done in increments of 2 inches. So even if climbing up is 3 inches, it costs you 4. So I guess that charge you did there was just barely doable (3 + climb 3 + 1 would have cost 3 + 4 + 1) (some charges in our first game were illegal then I guess).
They get so many rules wrong it's as if they were playing a different game altogether, to be honest. It seems to be the same with other games too - I guess they play too many of them to get them right.
Some very new, for GW, ideas in this one. I do like that a lot. Hard to say how this will end up but clearly a change up ruleswise. very nice to see GW leave that old formula here.
It’s great to see a battle report for this already and it looks like you enjoyed it. Given the rules aren’t out it would be useful for you to explain the rules while you play. Understanding how the rules work would make it easier to decide whether the new rules are worth bothering with or not.
There have been articles on Warhammer community that explain bits and pieces (how shooting works, etc). Glass Half Dead on TH-cam does some really good “how to Killteam” imo too.
The only part I’m not crazy about is the conceal/engage rules. At the very least I don’t plan on using the tokens for *both* like if a unit is concealed put a token next to it, if it’s engaged just *remove* the concealed token…
The side of the token is also a reminder of miniatures activations. Orange : can activate this turning point, gray : already activated. Removing the token for engage order will not help keeping track of which mini can still be activated.
@@Akhreysh it’s not like it’s that hard to keep track of which of your units you’ve moved and which you haven’t, i mean it’s not any different than moving full squads in full 40K and nobody uses tokens for that…

That pre-game set-up phase seemed a bit convoluted gotta say. Models look great, and I like how combat and shooting always feels like your model is doing something now. But yeah, seems like the set-up takes a lot of time for a quick pick-up game. Still, cool to watch.

I agree, this has been my biggest complaint about the game from what I’ve seen so far. I love a lot of the new rules, especially when it comes to the combat, but god is that board cluttered with tokens, when you have each model with upwards of 4 or 5 tokens around it (1 for conceal/engage, 1 for wounds, another for “injured” if it’s below half health, another if that unit has gained/lost an AP, another if they’re carrying an objective etc.) that’s just too much, especially when multiple models are engaged in melee.
So, you can cut down on about 50% of tokens at the start by assuming everything without a token is Engaged and Unactivated. Then you can probably number each model and place the tokens elsewhere, on the cards or otherwise.
It seems like the guard almost needed a spotter for this matchup, to counteract the concealed kommandos. Specifically for this mission, a demolition trooper seems like it would be good at guarding the deployment rooftop with the landmine. Grot hookshots over and almost immediately gets blown up.

The setup seems a bit wonky, but I don't agree. I've tried getting into Infinity so many times, and every time I can't do it. That game is so complicated.
I am considering getting back into the hobby but kill team might not be the best move for me. Looks super complicated and considering i'd be playing pick up games with people who don't game....
Nice although you guys made a ton of mistakes with how movement works. First a dash with boy over the Terrain. It's traversal so you need to subtract a circle so you're left with 1 inch and if you can't move, you don't. Then the climb up with krieg. You counted the way up as 3 inches. It does not work.like that. If it's 3 inches then you count in increments rounded up so climbing 3 inches is 2 circle so 4" then you're left with last circle for movement, so 2 inches. And that dash with the boy from around the corner is anything but 3 inches.
The madlad himself getting all this hobby done. Great job!

Blaster was here... & feels like after Movement shapes, GW was all 'Shapes, wutz dat?'
This looks really complicated but I love it
Hi I just picked this box up myself and am learning the hobby! I am going mad trying to find out, you selected augury as equipment for alot of your guardsmen but I can't find any info on an augury in either book. What is it xD
Great video. How did you do the faded paint style on the terrain? Spray, dry brush? Looks very cool.
GasLands' Legacy master blaster edition and New MCR & Legion fallout wasteland warfare when?
Regular people walk or talk in their sleep....Ash paints and plays games
Hey Ash - did you ever do a "how to paint" Guide for this terrain? I swear I watched it but can't find it.
Hey Ash, where’s the Sunday how you painted the KT terrain video?
top notch, as ever
I'm getting initial vibes that Infinity is actually easier to get into that this new version of Kill Team. Might be wrong but it seems clunky af?
The setup seems a bit wonky, but I don't agree. I've tried getting into Infinity so many times, and every time I can't do it. That game is so complicated.
Was looking at getting one of these sets to start out. But can't find them anywhere, only separately . Did they discontinue?
I am considering getting back into the hobby but kill team might not be the best move for me. Looks super complicated and considering i'd be playing pick up games with people who don't game....
Great content, thanks for the in-depth game! How did you paint the combat gauge? I love the look.
I used a Rustoleum brass spray then antiqued it with nikolihde oxide and drybrushed it griffon gold!
@@GuerrillaMiniatureGames Thank you!
seems real busy, but man it is built for herohammer and forging the narrative
Wow! Simply WOW!
Such a sick batrep really shows off the rules very well
I liked the video (and gave it a like), but not the game. Hopefully enough people will just keep playing the previous edition.
Clicks on link. How the hell did he get all of that built and painted for this?!
44:15 his special rule is that if he charged he gets brutal even without having rolled a crit. Correct?
the platforms looks like a bit like those of Warcry
I Dont like the new game play for KT.2.0, but models are nice
Basically GW games in a nutshell unfortunately
At 15:00 you changed the order of a trooper, from hiding into action mode. Is it correct, is it legal? Thanks for a clarification
On the first turn you can select a scout move that allows you to change the order of a single model. It’s part of the bid for priority!
Owen's dice strike again
Cut that into in half. You'll boost your first 30 second click away rate.
Hey is the terrain glued or suppose to be modular like warcry?
You actually could use only one tactical asset per turning point. Just reading the rules right now, sorry for being picky.
Where did you guys get the large orange / red dice for counting the command points ?
Amazon!
Do you have the brand or link? Thanks !
It was so long ago mate I don’t… just search large dice!
30:15 did the Nob take 4 damage from the first airstrike?
