Thank you for sharing facts of the tragic event. It is still hard to believe this happened in America.

I remember seeing, with my own eyeballs, flames shoot out of the tank, igniting the compound on fire and it being consumed in flames within mere minutes because of the force and direction of the wind.

This reminds me that i have photos somewhere from the year after. I found it so odd that everything was bulldozed into piles wrapped in razor wire

Dr. Tabor, thanks for sharing this. Im not religious but am a religious scholar (ex orthodox Rabbi) and beleive in the 1st amendment. I remember this story as a child & was then easily swayed to beleive David Koresh was evil incarnate (& the Davidians).
As an adult, to revisit this case, I understand the atrocities& 1st amendment/human rights violations committed by the US government on that day..& it's astounding!
It honestly seems like a situation that couldve ended peacefully; VS how the FBI wanted it to end. It ended in tragedy and discrimination and this needs to be spoken about! (& the fact no Biblical scholars were involved in negotiations is absurd and astounding)

Dr Tabor i have a question.. is it even remotely possible that the first 3 gospels' weren't written by 3 separate people but One person revising and updating his own work? Ie being different drafts..
I'm sure textual criticism will answer the question but i don't have your expertise.. is this just an outlandish idea or remotely possible?
