Brilliant stuff, as ever. I've usually run my effects in mono, packing in as much across a 16 track mackie, until it hits channels14, 15, 16, when reverb, delay and flange get their own channels. It's a level of control that has been hard to move from over the last couple of decades and has ultimately guided machine and productiuon choices (as limitations should). It's only recently being away from my base that I got a Rytm and a few other bits, where I could do much more working with single devices, in isolation (on lap with headphones) and gradually bringing parts together when there has been time and/or opportunity. While I've got performance ideas down to a Rytm and an RC-5 looper for ultra minimal "carriage" as opposed to 25Kilos of synth for a live show, I still have channel counts, a desk, effects and other space fillers in the back of miy mind...
Cheers 🖤 Yeah totally, working with individual channels, especially with a Mackie 16 is such a joy. Although the flexibility in the Rytm is pretty crazy, as with many standalone boxes, it’s often more choice and combinations and less this or that. 25kilos sounds epic haha. What’s your looper setup? Interesting.
hey. I noticed other drum machines have a different sound with individuals out vs main outs as well. For example the clap of the MFB tanzmaus has way more release with main out vs individual out
It does seem a common thing across drum machines, main outs and individual outs. Always worth checking. MFB stuff seems to be built in a somewhat raw way. We have the MFB Kraftzwerg and that thing has some odd quirks in the build, sounds dope though
@@ExpectResistance yeah MFB always has some quirks. Miss Manfred tho, he kindly repaired my tanzmaus after I sent him, with a 50bucks euros bill hidden inside the machine 😂 The tanzmaus was not protected for inverted polarity and I used the wrong PSU after rewiring after a gig..
the rytm keeps delivering, bottomless pit for creativity :D awesome video and amazing idea for using mono out from the mains!
Heeey, how’s it going? Yeah the Rytm keeps delivering, even while dusting it 😂
Very sick. Glad to have ya back
Nice one, glad to be back 🖤
“…. the residues of different idea that have failed”
Cheers. I might use that for an album title.
Nice, sounds like it will be a good album. Failed stuff is often the best.
Astonishing content. Thank you so, so much, man.
Cheers, glad you find it valuable. 🖤

I'm extremely jealous of your ability to make everything sound sooooooooooo in place and cool, nice to have your black magic fuckery back brother.
“Black magic fuckery” i love that haha. 🤣Glad it’s enjoyable. Cheers
Nice to see you again
Thanks :)

Oh wow that’s amazing!! Class. Stuff like that makes all the difference.
