It's just the wave of SJW's joining OSRS, everyone seems outraged over nothing. I didn't give him my money so i'm not upset about what he's doing with it. There's actual shit to be outraged about like Churches taking donations and then buying Resort homes with it and letting the poor people who donated die due to their illnesses. I wish A Friend the best.
This is a really good video man. Really made me see it from his perspective and made me grow a spark of hope for him actually gaining something greater than a TH-cam career in his life. After all, he has entertained most of the Runescape community for so many years, with such dedication, it must have been inevitable in the end. Cheers to a flourishing future for Dovydaddy
joe carroll “well researched” but I’m pretty sure on a friends twitter which is publicly viewable that he gave a reason as to why he hasn’t uploaded in a month (he is moving). Feel like that would have been pretty easy to find and mention in this video
joe carroll it’s the conclusion of the video which makes an assumption when there are facts that say otherwise. Facts that aren’t exactly hard to come across
He's more likely to become a hobo or submissive probably, since living in Netherlands is expensive, and he probably has no proper education besides the one in high school.
@@mindaugassolys1963 the Netherlands also have really good social economic system. A bit too good actually. They love giving away money to foreign people who can't do shit and don't have any kind of degree. So he will be Just fine...
Was really into cheating/exploiting games, dodged the draft, played an unhealthy amount of RS, money was his main focus, was toxic in comments, phished accounts etc. I used to like him too, but damn, you can't really defend him at this point. I wish him the best though.
The real world caught up with him and decided like me milk all the money I can and enjoy my life. In real life whats more important P mod on runescape or half a million.
HaterRADE pmod and knowing you meant something to the world tbhhhhh. It will be different for everyone but i grew up in a kinda rich family but have a handicap and got thrown out by my family. I dont have alot of money right now. But the money i have i would instantly throw away to help a stranger. Depends on personality i guess. But for me pmod would be the pro and mil the con.
Can't blame him, when you live in countries like Lithuania, you can only think about making as much money as you can since there's not much to go around. At least he got out to the Netherlands before his channel died.
If it is then he would be smarter staying in Lithuania instead of moving to the Netherlands. He could live there for a few years with that money, but after that what is he going to do if his TH-cam career is indeed coming to an end?
I ran into a friend in runescape 3 several times.. even back in the old days, I could tell how stressed and strained he was to make new video content. Towards the end of his RS3 videos he wouldn't even talk to anyone in a passing glance anymore. He just gave in to the rush. It was a shame. He was always such a pinnacle of the community. Seeing the way he acted in game from start to finish, I might have just checked in on him from time to time, but.. what he loved really did end up almost destroying him.
He deserves a break. All the hours he's put in. He's a good content creator. If he's started to drop in content quality, then maybe it's a sign that a break is absolutely needed.
After everything he has gone through during the years, he will always be a friend in our hearts. Let’s hope he’s doing what he can to improve himself as a person.
Just an FYI - I was on the "influencer" trip mentioned at 07:00 - The visit was either to test/give feedback on Legacy Mode. However, not everyone was given pmod during that trip, it's focus was on the feedback/testing of that content and if I recall nobody was given pmod during that trip - Several of us already had it at that time and some people who were there (such as Gizzy Gazza) who doesn't actively play runescape.
Whoa. This video had me thinking this dude's entire career was doneso but i just checked and he's uploading often with lots of views and likes. I guess it's never too late for a redemption story.
I agree. I’m a veretan viewer of his as well and care more about him than his content. He did what he felt right, even though most of those things turned out to be a mistake. Hope he regains people’s trust and can comfortably make videos again.
I think having to go to the draft could have been the BEST thing for him. taking time out from the game would have been really good for him, whether he wanted it or not.
Once thing I enjoy about a friend is his honesty. He’s been honest to the viewers from The start. Sure, he made really bad wrong turns, but honestly he doesn’t deserve that. Despite all the negatives, he did genuinely work hard to release videos even if there was no content available. Worked 16 hours a day, sacrificed the rest of his time to make sure he was financially stable. Literally nothing wrong with that. The whole RS community is already cancerous, it’s going to be hard to get out of this one but I’m behind him
lawlestest lol it has nothing to do with being a sheep. This dude literally put his life on hold for years just so he can make an income and provide any kind of content to his viewers. He doesn’t deserve the punishment he’s getting from the community and from Jagex’s shitty team. Sure he deserves some kind of discipline, but not this.
When you just do something over and over again, it begins to strain on your mental health (and physical if you don't really move around much). I love gaming, but having a job gives me balance in my life, as well as having a relationship with another. From what I've seen from A Friend, it just seems like he's starting to fall flat and begin his downward spiral until he finally realizes his mistakes. I do hope he does make up for all the things that he did/has done, because even sometimes a bad person can be redeemed.
He said he needed the money for himself and his girlfriend, but not that he was sorry that the money he was getting was in exchange for a website scamming all his viewers and taking their money. Sure Jagex cared about the rwt implications, but the website itself was basically designed to scam people for thousands of dollars, like most gambling sites, and it was fishy as hell. A Friend clearly doesn't care about his subscribers beyond his ability to profit off them.
well maybe he should've kept that money instead of spending 10k's here and there on RS3 accounts that he's never going to play on after getting all 99s ... Frivolous spending.
I watched A Friend for many years when I was disenchanted with RS3 updates. I wanted to play osrs but didn’t have the time to start a new account, so I got content updates and played vicariously through his Ironman account. Sad what happened. I’m back on osrs with a new account and I’m really enjoying it. Such a great game.
i have to say, after watching this, it just make me appreciate how much jagex cares and is involved with their community. they are so supportive of their content creators, and are willing to work with them even if they dont deserve it. Kudos to you.
sources in description, mad respect. Halpy for A Friend. Gets payed to sellout and rewelcomed back. He has worked hard to stay to stay in the community
"So let's go back to late 2004, where Dovydas was introduced to Runescape. 3 years later on May 13th 2009 the Eraser Gaming TH-cam channel was created." I know some stuff was said between those 2 statements but without mentioning any other dates in there, it's kind of confusing.
Why? He played runescape for a while and started making videos about it a few years later, which is the first moment you're getting information about him.
@@kneli107 Why does he say that Dovydas created his channel "3 years later" if there is no mention of anything that took place 3 years before that? He mentions that he started playing in 2004 and then doesn't mention any other dates until he says that 3 years later the Eraser Gaming channel was created. Him saying it would make sense to me if either he said that he created his channel 5 years later or if he mentioned something that happened in 2006.
Let's be generous and say late 2004 means December of 2004. One month after that it would have been 2005. Then there's still 4 years to get to 2009 and May is the 5th month so that's 4 and a half years at minimum.
Ive been friends with Dovydas and his siblings for several years, not in real life, but online. I can personally tell you guys that I know Dovydas well enough that he would never become a scammer or anything decieving of the sort. I never met his girlfriend to say anything about her or them being together, however if I needed money to see the potential love of my life and I was offered $40K or more to make a single video advertising something that I didnt agree with in order to be with that person, I may take that opportunity as well. Its easy to say that its selfish and bullshit, but when brought with the opportunity, it could be tempting. I dont judge him or hold anything against him for it because I cant blame him. Any other situations, like him giving money to scammers, I dont know enough about to say anything so Im going to defend my friends while speaking the truth.

You got a few things wrong. First of all, A Friend didn’t get banned after his first stake.com video. He made one about a month earlier that received a ton of backlash. After taking the video down and apologizing that he will never do it again, he did it again. Along with that, he then took that huge ad revenue from the stake.com site rumored to be around $60k USD. That’s where he got banned for RWT. And before the whole RWT incident, you never mentioned the situation with his girlfriend. She kicked all of his longtime friends out of his in-game clan chat and demodded all of them. His reaction? “Fuck you guys I do what I want.” Then when the clan chat caught wind of this, he closed the chat down indefinitely. He did all of this because his girlfriend was jealous that he had another girl modded in his clan chat.
everyone forgets about his dark bow scandal that he did. he bought 1,000s of dark bows hoping to merch them but they just went down in value massivesly, he then made a video stating his was merching dark bows which made the price rise due to his influence in the community. During this time there was also a wishing well in the game that players could give gold up and a Jagex would donate money to a charity based on the amount given. A friend then stated that he was accepting donations to put into the wishing well but what he eneded up doing was keeping all the donations given to him and instead putting his failed merched dark bows inside the wishing well. essiantally scamming his viewerbase because he failed a merch. players thought there were donating there money to chairty but what they really did was indirectly buy incorrectly overpriced dark bows. I made a commentating saying he should lose his P-mod status for this and low and behold he lost it a few weeks later.
I mean he had it all. And had great content and literally just went slowly down hill. As much as I feel bad for him (because I wish no one the hope to losing there job) but in a way he still knew what content he was creating and the risks. All in all, I feel his sponsors got full control of him and did what he had to do for the money.
“Luckily, him serving his country was averted by simply committing a crime.” Phew, dodged a bullet there
I was thinking the same thing

Idk, some people can handle the NEET lifestyle but most cannot.
Flame I disagree, I think it depends on what someone is like as a person. I always saw a negative side to him
bullshit he was always like that with abuser mentality and asshole and people liked him for that and ofc for his bye's karambwans videos and memes just for some reason lately they got triggered over that even if he did this for years
It's just the wave of SJW's joining OSRS, everyone seems outraged over nothing.
8:45 I buy food, so I don't die. Classic A Friend! God bless him, he's a good guy who made a few mistakes as he let greed get to him.
>does a video on the history of A Friend
>doesn't title it "A Friend to A Foe"
cmon man
Maybe they’re still fuckin
A Friend to a faux
(the concept, not the other content creator)
Dude lives in my town
What you doing here??
Lumbridge?
nice to see a well researched documentary. good stuff.
joe carroll “well researched” but I’m pretty sure on a friends twitter which is publicly viewable that he gave a reason as to why he hasn’t uploaded in a month (he is moving). Feel like that would have been pretty easy to find and mention in this video
..ok? that is one very small portion of the entire video.
joe carroll it’s the conclusion of the video which makes an assumption when there are facts that say otherwise. Facts that aren’t exactly hard to come across
never said the facts were hard to come by, I said it was a well researched documentary. it was entertaining.
35000 hours playing the game is about 4 years.
This video was put together nicely, good job!
mfw a friend gets murdered for his money by his gf
87Fox this 😂😂😂😂☝️
He's more likely to become a hobo or submissive probably, since living in Netherlands is expensive, and he probably has no proper education besides the one in high school.
@@mindaugassolys1963 he could move to Lithuania and live fine if not wasting money.
@@mindaugassolys1963 the Netherlands also have really good social economic system. A bit too good actually. They love giving away money to foreign people who can't do shit and don't have any kind of degree. So he will be Just fine...

Teat of the taxpayer is unqienchable.
Was really into cheating/exploiting games, dodged the draft, played an unhealthy amount of RS, money was his main focus, was toxic in comments, phished accounts etc. I used to like him too, but damn, you can't really defend him at this point. I wish him the best though.
he might have even been better off in the long run taking that 9 month break.
Thank you so much for using my music in this one! It's always awesome to be surprised by your music while watching s TH-cam video. You're awesome! 😘
Thank you for making great music ^.^

Еоп твою мат блать yeah the Netherlands is a happy place to live...
people that aren't from east europe will never understand value of such amounts of money. For lithuania 100k is like a 1 million in Us
But Russia's not Communist.
If it is then he would be smarter staying in Lithuania instead of moving to the Netherlands. He could live there for a few years with that money, but after that what is he going to do if his TH-cam career is indeed coming to an end?
kneli107 40k will give you about a year in The Netherlands.
Lol you met him at the GE bro
He deserves a break. All the hours he's put in. He's a good content creator. If he's started to drop in content quality, then maybe it's a sign that a break is absolutely needed.
Thumbnail sums it up perfectly.. From hero to zero, because he sold out.
RIP, F, Won't be missed.
"and i go to buy food, so i dont die." 8:52. wholesome explanation

Happy I found you’re channel! Very informative and creative content.
man that frost dragons clip is nostalgic as hell. I wish we could play that version of pre-EOC.
After everything he has gone through during the years, he will always be a friend in our hearts. Let’s hope he’s doing what he can to improve himself as a person.
“I need a friend.”
“Okay, I got you covered.”
“That’s not whaT I MEANT-“
Just an FYI - I was on the "influencer" trip mentioned at 07:00 - The visit was either to test/give feedback on Legacy Mode. However, not everyone was given pmod during that trip, it's focus was on the feedback/testing of that content and if I recall nobody was given pmod during that trip - Several of us already had it at that time and some people who were there (such as Gizzy Gazza) who doesn't actively play runescape.
Well Hot Damn... Shit needs an update
This dude gets almost a million views on these videos yet he only has 46k subs? THIS DUDE DESERVES A BIGGER AUDIENCE
Time to wave A Friend goodbye!
Scotty A he should’ve chosen for war.... then he wouldve gotten a great salute!
Who is your friend?
Whoa. This video had me thinking this dude's entire career was doneso but i just checked and he's uploading often with lots of views and likes. I guess it's never too late for a redemption story.
"I play RuneScape all day, and I buy food at grocery store so I don't die"
I agree. I’m a veretan viewer of his as well and care more about him than his content. He did what he felt right, even though most of those things turned out to be a mistake. Hope he regains people’s trust and can comfortably make videos again.
I feel like he could've gotten prison time for the latvia thing, surely that's fraud
Its called draft dodging
Aww the ending! I always believe people who care about people naturally go far in life! Great vid
I think having to go to the draft could have been the BEST thing for him. taking time out from the game would have been really good for him, whether he wanted it or not.
Great video bro! Very well edited and your voice is perfect. I assume those 4.3k subs will soon sky rocket!
He made and uploaded a video describing how he dodged the draft? Smart
At least you admitted you're biased. I respect that, liking your video.
Dude....Your channel is booming......I think I subbed like pre 1k subs. Super impressed. Keep it up.
i am subscribed to this channel for a while now and realized a lithuanian creator (from my country) is on here, this shall be interesting
Once thing I enjoy about a friend is his honesty. He’s been honest to the viewers from
The start. The whole RS community is already cancerous, it’s going to be hard to get out of this one but I’m behind him
sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep
lawlestest lol it has nothing to do with being a sheep.
This video gotta be remade now lmao
*"Never going back to Lithuania"* now eh? ;)
oh, a video about a fellow lithuanian, don't see that very often.
5:55 he was always in it for the moneyyyy
I just started playing osrs again after a year or so break, Im glad to start watching more interesting videos like this as I continue to play
This is a very well edited and detailed video.
This did not age well A Friend lives on
Legends never die
great video man. I really am rooting for him to have a comeback
9:06 hmm, “peaking”, this statement didn’t age well.
6:14 did his apartment come with a stripper?
i have to say, after watching this, it just make me appreciate how much jagex cares and is involved with their community. they are so supportive of their content creators, and are willing to work with them even if they dont deserve it. Kudos to you.
do a video on what happened to runeshark
They killed themselves when eoc came out
sources in description, mad respect.
Oh wow I didn't even notice the discrepancy of the dates (3 years after 2004 is not 2009). Missed that part I guess! So nvm.
late 2004 played RS, May of 2009 (early 2009 basically it is 3 years and some months)
Let's be generous and say late 2004 means December of 2004. One month after that it would have been 2005. Then there's still 4 years to get to 2009 and May is the 5th month so that's 4 and a half years at minimum.
This is still relevant thank you for posting
Interesting video
ok
@@achxd okay
Watched him from the very start.. even though I dont play the game anymore I still watched his videos, they really did start turning bad.
Any other situations, like him giving money to scammers, I dont know enough about to say anything so Im going to defend my friends while speaking the truth.
i agree with this tbh, man just wanted to get the fuck out of lithuania.
@@Abublaa ive never been there, but i havmt heard almost any good things about it to say the least... So yeah for sure lol
nice vid man.. can see you put alot of work into this
Playing 16 hours a day is not even human. That is honestly not even 'cool' or 'dedication'. That's just sad...
sad part is there's a huge amount of players who do so, half of the streamers look like zombies
I would imagine there's not really anything better to do in Lithuania
BC Joshiee sad part is I do this and reallt wanna stream but don’t even have the gp to buy a decent pc so i play 16 hours a day with 3fps and thats not even runelite imagine lmao. Where is my 100 grand 😅 lets be real tho. I would never accept it
I just came from 15 hours day of work, imo I would rather do the 16 hour playing :P
I think you'd change your mind very soon about that. Also 15 hours of work isn't normal.
glad to say, he's back
You got a few things wrong.
Very well done video! I look forward to his return.
everyone forgets about his dark bow scandal that he did. he bought 1,000s of dark bows hoping to merch them but they just went down in value massivesly, he then made a video stating his was merching dark bows which made the price rise due to his influence in the community. I made a commentating saying he should lose his P-mod status for this and low and behold he lost it a few weeks later.
i really miss watching a friends videos sad times i hope he finds a way back to runescape.
Thanks joon
I mean he had it all. And had great content and literally just went slowly down hill. As much as I feel bad for him (because I wish no one the hope to losing there job) but in a way he still knew what content he was creating and the risks. All in all, I feel his sponsors got full control of him and did what he had to do for the money.
How come that I never saw ur vids before? Anyways, nice content. I subbed.
This videos is fucking amazing,Spot-on research and well put.
Apparently he moved back to Lithuania, guess it didn't work out.
