I got to admit, I envied Indians because they fill in lots of jobs and professions that others ever crave to have; but now, I understand that all the lessons, lectures, and important notes & tips on TH-cam comes from tutors, especially Professor Srinivasan, whom have given me the needed enlightenment. Without them all, I would never know where I would stand; can't imagine my life without their educational powers which keep feeding our minds with magnificent knowledge each time. Thank you Professor for giving me hope, especially in this class.
you are the GOD of teaching ..... Unfortunately we cant study the whole subjects from you ...if You will the teacher of anyone .....He/She will be the most lucky person on this earth .....Awesome teaching ...hats off mind blowing

Respected Shrinivasan Sir, I am a post-graduate student studying in USA. I have exams tomorrow and the books I am using here are really a mess, and really confusing. I thought I had taken a wrong decision, opting for the optimization course. Its just an amount of one hour virtually spent with you which has made me realise that indeed I have taken a really easy and interesting subject. You are really a great teacher Sir. Thanks a lot.
Ufff....finally we reached to the answer...so lengthy these solutions are. Need lot of practice but without your teaching I wouldn't have understood the concept. Hat's off to your energy & dedication Srinivas Sir. I Thanks a lot.
I got stuck when you were explaining the thetas in MODI method. But ur presentations are SOOO good, one pause, is ALL it took for me to understand it again. You're one heck of a prof sir! Cause with a book, once I'm stuck, I'm stuck, done, and defeated. But u sir, have my respect. Thank you!
great teaching sir. with help of urs I understand this whole in less than 1 hr while to understand by own I took around 4-5 hrs but still not understand the same amount u taught me... Thank you sir for putting video....
Really Helpful & very very easy approach to complex problems. Thanks alot and Keep posting lecture of IIT online for other subjects as well. IIT online also helped me alot in Supply Chain Management.
Very nice video: best online teaching videos I've seen and great preparation for my exam :) (even though couple of minor mistakes e.g. the starting feasible solution was obtained from the minimum cost method, not VAM and at 16:47, 8-6+7-6=3 not 2) but these don't matter the quality of teaching at all! Thank you.
Thank u Sir. Let me take this opportunity to congratulate you and I do agree to all these complements given to you on this page, sir. I too being a MCA student pursuing through correspondence, was so helpless to solve these problems. All ur classes are been very helpful for me. Thank u once again SIR have no words to express my sincere thanks to u.
its awesome.... thank you sir for such a nice and lucid lectures.... really helpful for exam point of view.... i am MCA student and it is very good for preparation......
Very nice ! Thank you so much , Sir ! These videos are very much helpful for me ! Your teaching is just amazing ! Thanks a tonnes ! -Miss Varada Cholkar
Sir. In stepping stone method, what if I have to put a dummy row? How will I start on it? A very big thanks to you Sir ! Hats off ! I had been watching your lectures on operations research since the start of our semester. THANKS A LOT ! Greetings from Philippines :)
@antniemi it was obtained through VAM. by VAM there were two solutions due to arbitrary selection of blocks. 920 and 960. and 960 was also given by minimum cost method :P
Sir, in 29:35 , the formula you used to allocate the NBV locations you wrote like this Cij - ( Ui + Vj ) = Xij , But my book says, the formula for allocation NBV locations is like this Ui + Vj - Cij = Xij For example: If; U1 =0 , V3 = 6 , C13= 8 , then applying your formula it gives,8 - ( 0+6) = 2 but in book it gives, 0 + 6 - 8 = -2 so we have a difference . your formula gives +2 , while book gives - 2 , which formula is correct ? Yours or the book ? also my book says if all new numbers you got in the empty squares were Negatives then you found the optimal solution , everything is opposite , you say if the numbers are alll positive then its optimal while book says opoosite .... Please help me, this is a serious issue , i don't know which formula to use now, yours or the book :( .. this is a really serious issue , either the book is wrong or your wrong,or maybe both ways are correct but i know im not wrong , you can check the book by your self ( Operations Research , An introduction , Eighth Edition, By HAMDY A. TAHA , Page 213 ) , www.math.epn.edu.ec/~sandra/TDE_2011_2/taha2007.pdf
It doesn't matter. It's one and the same thing. Only difference is, when you take the net cost for unoccupied cells using the formula in the video, you search for a -ve value, which means, the result is neither optimal nor unique. Using the formula in your book, you search for a +ve value, which means, the result is neither optimal nor unique.
Thanks a million Mr. Srinivasan. I passed my exams with good scores thanks to your lectures. Greetings from Turkey!

Amazing Mr. Srinivasan. Thanks a lot for sharing this invaluable piece of knowledge to the mass.

comprehensive solution of a problem keep on going good job.
Sir you're a genius and also a great teacher. God bless you.
Your lecture is very helpful for me to prepare for the NET exam. Thanking You Sirji.
Dear Dr. Srinivas,
calculation error
15:11 - cost calculation - it is (20 times 6) -120 not 100 so the cost would be 940 instead of 920
he did one more error ... as he calculated 100+80=200. but answer is 920.
Good presentation. It has help me understand the topic better
Sir. In stepping stone method, what if I have to put a dummy row? How will I start on it?

Thank you so much sir. The way you are teaching is awesome.
thanks sir it helped a lot ,keep up the gud work
GOD BLESS HIS PEOPLE
You speared me time and a dozens of cigaret for my exam.
Thank you Prof.G.Srinivasan!
IIT needs this kind of teacher nowadays
Fantastic lecture! Much respect prof.
respected sir thank you very much for such a wonderful explanation.
Sir, in 29:35 , the formula you used to allocate the NBV locations
you wrote like this Cij - ( Ui + Vj ) = Xij ,
But my book says, the formula for allocation NBV locations is like this Ui + Vj - Cij = Xij
For example:
If; U1 =0 , V3 = 6 , C13= 8 , then applying your formula it gives,8 - ( 0+6) = 2
but in book it gives, 0 + 6 - 8 = -2
so we have a difference . your formula gives +2 , while book gives - 2 , which formula is correct ? Yours or the book ? also my book says if all new numbers you got in the empty squares were Negatives then you found the optimal solution , everything is opposite , you say if the numbers are alll positive then its optimal while book says opoosite ....
Please help me, this is a serious issue , i don't know which formula to use now, yours or the book :( .. this is a really serious issue , either the book is wrong or your wrong,or maybe both ways are correct but i know im not wrong , you can check the book by your self

sir. i m not understanding how do u make a loop. how do u identify a loop? please explain. thanx sir.
+saralseth9 look at lecture 13. Towards the second half he explains the loop.
Shardul juyal no I m also unable to understand how loop forms
In stepping stone method. The (-1) is in X(33) not X(32)
Great video! Thanks!
thank you sir and uploaders! this will help me a lot in my exams!!!
you are da best teacher of or.:)
thank u sir .... it was really helpful really sir u r great.......

Very good lecture. Thanks from the heart...
Really helpful and well explained, than you
very good explanation .. thank you very much
very good video. sir you are brilliant
Thanks alot Sir. You are genius
question... can a closed path or loop in steping stone method intersect lines?
yeah, but when that happens you will probably have another better loop
sir you are great, thanks a lot.....
Thanks a ton , But a small correction at time 15.26 , its not 100 , its 120 (6*20), so the Total cost should be 940 and not 920 .
Talaiva you are great:)
gr8 work, thanks a lot sir.
hello sir why u have taken +1 or. it must anything with value in transportation optimal solution
