YES DUDE! I’ve been thinking about this for a while and there seems to be one company actually doing this already but I love seeing you build one yourself! Such a unique concept
Excellent work. Keep at it. If they dont sound perfect on their own they might still work well in conjunction with standard magnetic pick ups. Also, I wonder if as a test, you might try putting some white paint on the strings.
@@comarius100Can you not line each sensor up individually with the bridge, and place a P-Bass cover over that? That way you can have the pickup mounted on the underside of the plate, with everything dark? Paint everything underside Vanta black with a focal dome (an elipse is a good start) over the top of the LED's so that the string reflection is focused there? Still could see it being used for other applications.
Sounds like it would work pretty well with bass. Probably has to do with the string diameter reflecting more light.

crazy stuff bro
Only the old innovate. Only they have the experience to know what has been and what has not.
thats so weird man.. awesome!!!
rlly cool stuff dude! maybe try to figure out some kinda ring system like a humbucker mount to get it to keep steady !!
Working on it
@@comarius100 keep up the great work man your stuff is so cool and inspiring thanks for sharing!!
nice idea, but I see *_tons_* of problems for this to work reliably. Thank you for sharing! 😊
Yes they are. Still improving it
No they are very sensitive to light bulbs, LED lights, Hard to align, Project dropped.

@@CapnGuitars Thank you for the hint. I might get back to this project in the future.
Does this work by detecting the reflection of the led on the string and amplifying the resulting signal? Seems pretty cool
Yes it does. Stil improving
