    The $160 price is put into a very different context when the "you might be better off with T30 Metroplex" translates into a $500 buy these days. T30 also has zero ankle tilt, which neuters what was otherwise pretty good poseability for its time.

    "Can be manipulated" is what ya tryin to articulate out brother. Also. How about a "condition/health" update on patreon on the poor abused Tigertrax? :D

    When I got mine, he came with a warning from Australian Border Force stating he had to be held in customs because of the batteries not been to Australian manufacturing standards, I just hope the manufacturer has heard the feed back and does not ship the Tripticon and Scorpinok with the batteries. After mulling it over I do like the height when you start putting them in displays with other figures like the Cell Unicron and Cybertron, them been shorter does work when you have all four city bots next to the planets (cause planets are bigger).
    At the end of the day, I am happy that there is plenty of detail and under the right lighting he looks more city bot when you get him in the monster poses and angles and when zoomed out he looks like any other bot, I do want to get the full set before looking at the prospect of repainting.

    I picked this up a while back and love it. The batteries and instillation is a pain, but it looks amazing when all lit up.

    A note, in battlestation mode there's a double hinge in the hips so the "runways" connect down the middle, flush. Looks really good and solid that way. And the lights do make a world of difference, it's a great look all lit up at night, I wish there were even more! There are two types of circuit board included, one that works with the remote and the other with the magnet. They provide enough of both for ALL the lights so it's your choice - DO NOT USE THE REMOTE CONTROL TYPE, because they're on 24 hour standby and die FAST. The magnet triggered ones are great & still running two months later for me. Also he didn't place the tank as the tower which adds some height, plus I recommend turning the left forearm 180 for city sculpt variety. I love Bobby but PLEASE if you're watching this and are interested in the figure, find one of the many other reviews by someone who actually bought it for themselves it and did it more justice. The scale is a bit weird though for really making it compatible with anything, but then so was the G1. For me it's a toon accuracy "good enough" in case I outgrow this before something bigger & better comes out. Not sure the complaints on the feel though, feels fine to me and I have a huge MP collection. It can't be too heavy or it would be hard to hold a pose.

      You said everything that was thinking. Well said! I will be putting him to my titan tripticon. In G1 cartoons, the scale was "whatever no one will notice."

    great review as always. These city bots to me are tough to get scale right. In my brain I’d think metroplex would need to be like 6 feet tall for a legends but i dont think anyone would spring for or have space for that. What Ive always wanted to do is make a custom display case that was metroplex or fort max with some shelf spots for all the little dudes. any event, great review man

      Im shocked there isn’t a post out there about someone who made a 6ft metroplex out of Amazon boxes, old toys and spray paint.

    I'm on the fence about this since it is coming down in price. I would have liked to see how is scales with a legends combiner. As long as this is larger it could work for me. Since space in the collection is always and issue. I do like how this company is making the train bots legends and the car and six shot for this city bot. Will love to know how they scale next to other legends.
    Great video as always keep up the amazing work.

    Slammer was the little tank dude he had but I do not believe he was ever named other than for the G1 toy instructions. Scamper was the car, which have we not gotten him from a 3rd Party, yet? 🤔 I'd mix it up and add Iron Factory's Slammer for this big boy. Thrilling 30 Generations Scamper. Then Siege's Sixgun.
    I never really thought about this, but Metroplex having Ballistic Grade Cartoon Transparent Red Shades in front of his G1 Toy eyes, really makes a lot of sense for all the heavy cannon weaponry he has! Almost like he's going to ask, die the Cybertronian *Civil War* 😅, "What KIND of Cybertronian are you? Like Autobot Cybertronian? Decepticon Cybertronian? Or a NAIL Cybertronian?" 😂 Right before blasts you anyway.
    Really great review, bro. This beats out me getting a Thrilling 30 Metroplex perhaps. Mainly because this one's at 17ish inches tall, matches up perfectly with Titans Return Trypticon, and is a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to find then the beautifully done MakeToys Utopia. Maybe I'd rip the voice box out of a T30 Metroplex and install in this figure, but I want to see what the 4-Foot Tall 3rd Party Metroplex will be like. Keep up the great work, Mack! 👊😎🍻

    It's going to be very difficult to get a titan figure to scale. Scale-wise, Jetfire should be dwarfed by Metroplex's head alone. I don't think we've ever truly understood just how huge those guys are supposed to be.

  • @Gaveedra7

    The visor does store in the head, it’s just not a smooth move to tuck it in there and sometimes the top of the head pops off due to the cheap plastic, but it’s also easy to pop back in for the same reason.
    Also the jaw opens for a shouty metroplex look, which can make for some cool poses, and the tank, slammer, can be rearranged to form an extension to the arm in city mode, which does seem a Little odd, as city mode is when you’d most likely have it out as a tank.

    The electronics tend to die on this one. I hope for a fixed reissue
    Also the head can slide down for transformation

    So the plastic doesn't compare to third party plastic, but what about Hasbro/Generations grade plastic? I have been wanting a Metroplex for a while now but the T30 figure and Maketoys ones were beyond my budget at the time.

    I was tempted when I was hoping it would match the Hasbro for size - I could go for something a bit more G1. I would be very excited if something like this were to get up towards the 3' mark...

      @@tonysteeleebw01 for the most part, I think it is possible for them to be well-ordered, if not absolutely in proportion. Sideswipe's bigger than Bumblebee; Prime's bigger than Sideswipe; etc... I think Metroplex is bigger than Fortress Maximus.

    I don't collect legends stuff, but I would have thought that the generations Metroplex (as well as the other titans) would be a better fit for the scale, to really emphasize the size of the city bots.

    • @saysoun752
      @saysoun752 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Don't start unless you want to get addicted to them as the newer NewAge figures look fantastic. They're basically small Masterpiece figures. I started with Masterpieces and I'm now collecting some Legends Scale figures and have been for about 2 - 3 years now. I say some as I don't buy all of them. They do look really good though when done right. Magic Square looks even better but, they use the stupid nylon plastic and it's not fully painted so they feel really bad and doesn't look as good.

    • @Giantwaspface
      @Giantwaspface 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@saysoun752 I do have a KO of the Newage Megatron I bought on impulse, and while it is a fantastic figure and huge fun to mess with, the double hassle of both selling off my MP collection (with quite a few 'grail' pieces in it) in a slow second hand market and hunting down an entirely new set of figures (most of which are sold out) puts me off switching.

    Only thing I don't like about it is how thick the arms and thighs are, I'd like them to be slimmer so the limbs don't look like 1 box from shoulder to wrist/ hip to toe.
