First plane ride even in an airliner for almost everybody, regardless of age, is exciting. Everything about it is so unusual. Now befriend someone who owns a small (comparatively speaking) general aviation airplane and, when the kids are a little older, ask them to take the kids for a short plane ride. (Offer to pay for gas.) They'll take you, too. It's an altogether completely different experience. I did this for my trainer and her two little boys several years ago. Throughout my life I've taken at least 150 kids and their parents flying--for free. I wanted to hook them on flying. I would sometimes make three landings so everyone could 'be pilot' for a few minutes. I never flew alone. I would at least take my boys with me. In fifteen years, my youngest son racked up 105 hours with me. As a high school aviation teacher, using a flight sim, I taught my 9th graders basic flight maneuvers. Flying. Can't beat it!
Sweet kids :)
