tbh i havent played a wwe game since smackdown vs raw... why do i feel like the graphics and gameplay mechanics shouldve evolved more than they have?
Because they should have. But instead of staying with THQ they went with 2k. Imagine how good WWE games would be currently if THQ was in charge!

I remember way back when playing Raw for SNES, when there were only 12 playable characters. Now there are 10x as many!
They need to get back to making the rings in their games BIGGER AGAIN!

In Your House and Wrestlemania arcade game could have been great games if they went in a different direction instead of the Mortal Kombat style format copyright copying stealing from them. They could have just went in the direction of Warzone or Mayhem
Still to this day, WrestleMania 2000 and No Mercy for the N64 were the absolute best wrestling games. You felt every hit and it was easy to master the moves.

All the THQ N64 games were awesome.
The 1995 Arcade game has the best graphics of anything until well into the 2000s. I dunno about game play, but those graphics look way ahead of their time
Yeah that's true i loved that "arcade" style but I still wished that they could have went in another direction with the gameplay instead of copying stealing from Mortal Kombat they could have used a different format something similar to Warzone or Mayhem
Yet for all the modern graphic improvements none of them can beat the playability and sheer fun of Wtestlefest. Still the greatest to this day imo.

I am perplexed as to why it has taken me so long to realize this, but the WWE games effectively portray the authenticity of the fights, in contrast to the live shows or televised broadcasts. In real-life settings, the fights appear artificial, whereas in the games, they possess a striking semblance of realism.

Even though I had a snes and WWF royal rumble was my first, Smackdown vs raw 2004 was my favorite as a kid. Create a wrestler was amazing for the time and even though you couldn’t play as most of the wrestlers from the golden era in that version, being able to play as Andre the Giant and Undertaker was awesome.
Wrestlefest & N64’s 2000/No Mercy are the greatest. War Zone is arguably the most horrific.

But couldn't catch the magic of WWF.
King of the Ring for NES made me realize I needed to upgrade my hardware. That game had such potential and could have been very good, but the developers clearly didn't care and sabotaged it by being lazy.
1995,2002 and all stars 2011 still my favorites
2k15 looked better than all the newer versions, however none of the 2k games play as good as here come pain, no mercy or SVR 11

Day of Reckoning 1 and 2 willl always be the best.
The real sad part I was there for all of them now that's not saying they were bad I'm just saying at 45 I'm old lol.

Without question No Mercy was the incredible and at the top of the pile.
