What is longest recommended usb cable length between uno and windows 10 computer to maintain reliable operation. Would chokes be recommended for longer runs over X feet?

USB 2.0 specification for high speed devices limits cable runs to a maximum of 5m. You can also research an active USB 2.0 extender cable

You would need to use a VM on the mac to run Windows with a Windows installation or use Apples bootcamp also with a Windows installation.
