2 Year Dirt Bike Wheelie Progression!

- i started teaching myself how to wheelie less than a week after i bought my first dirt bike. this is every step of the way from the day i got my bike all the way up to two years after learning how to wheelie!

I’ve been trying to wheelie since I was a kid but have only gotten up to like 7 seconds on one wheel, but After trying on different bikes I found being on the drz400sm or a ‘88cc’ Honda 50 with a hand brake were the easiest to learn on. Maybe it was just my time to finally do it but it wasn’t until I g it on my YCF125sm that I really figured it out tho. It was only 1-2 months after when I did a 10-15 second and now 6 months later I’m learning coasting/one handers/knee knockers/ seat stand. I can switch up gears but not down and I can turn/swerve sometimes…. Been a long journey but thankfully I haven’t gotten seriously injured, I’d rather learn slower lol. Highly recommend the ycf125sm to anyone trying to learn to wheelie!
Great job bro keep up the good work🔥💪. Ive learned quite a bit from your videos, only started wheelies 3 weeks ago and just starting to drop into balance point, still scares the shit outta me though 😅
happy to hear you’re learning fast💯🔥
So crazy how quickly you got good!
I got my first bike one year ago. I told myself I wouldn't try to wheelie or do anything crazy for the first year. So I basically did a lot of trail riding and just getting my general skills up. after a year or so I started doing a little bit more hard Enduro riding and having to actually use the clutch to pop over logs and what not, kind of laid the foundation for me for wheelies. now I have been working on getting high in enough back, hope to one day scrape. but taking it slow ☺️
smart choice getting your basic riding foundation first! i was really impatient😅
Stay strong big homie! im in a similar situation rn, i been wanting to learn how to work a dirtbike for years and i finally got me a kx450sr 5 months ago so i immediately got to work i have only been doing power wheelies and never got too familiar w clutch ups and hadn't developed the mind muscle connection w the rear brake ofc rookie mistake... fast foward 3 weeks ago i went for a group ride and 30 minutes into the ride i got my confidence up after popping a few and decided i was gonna try to reach the balance point and as soon as i hit the gas it came out from under me and since i was going slow my legs dropped as an instant reaction and landed on them, tore my acl, inside and outside meniscus, and fractured my tibia all in my right leg. I kept beating my self up about it but like you said i still have my leg 💯 its an opportunity to recover and get back to it better then ever. I wish you the best w your recovery bro ⚡🫡
i’m glad to hear you were blessed with the opportunity to keep your leg as well 🙏🏽 wishing you the best with recovery as well 💯
10 months in I can drop back scrape knee knock stand on the seat still learning one hand 🙋♂️ still learning swerving and trying to put a combo together
that’s really good for only 10 months you’ll get the one hands and swerves soon💯💨
@@MalachiJetter I was watching you and a few others studying 📖 hard good to know your ok looking forward to seeing you back at it again
Crazy ! I been riding wheelies for 12hrs just recently started dropping back and coasting! Been doing 1 handers and popping it up 1 handed for years still can’t scrape 😂 I tried once and looped.. 12 yrs looped once smh
10 months super valid. Its all about the fear of balance point 😂
You did great!🔥
🔥
Ayy great job I got my bike about 6 months ago and you inspire me
glad i could inspire bro, enjoy your bike 💯
Airlifted geeshhhhhh, that’s wild bro . I broke both of my legs one year apart . Wild experience, I would say document if you aren’t as I wished I had more photos of video photos during my journeys but far as my wheelie journey, currently I’m working on learning to do slow and circle wheelie’s . I got the distance down but I want to just do spins and turns now lol
damn bro i thought i had it bad just breaking one, but im glad to hear you’re back on the bike still doing what you love 💯
@@MalachiJetter yeah bro couldn't let the bike beat me lol, in the long run you'll become stronger . Im looking forward to seeing you back on the bike
@cameramanfrank appreciate the encouragement i’ll post some videos back on the bike soon!
Damn bro. Thank god your good tho.🙏 your gonna be alright. Next thing you know your gonna get back on your feet and ride that bike like a og. Ill tell you that much.
preciate the support 🙏🏽💯
Good progress bro 💯🫡
appreciate it!!
started 2 weeks ago now just riding on one trothel soon gonna find balance point and drop backs
W video!🔥🔥
thanks 🙏🏽💯
Love watchin yo Shit gang,
appreciate the support cuz💯
i been practising the clutch up and breake down, but when i get a little higher i just slam on the breakes😂 my brain tells me that im looping the bike.
Get well bro 🙏🏼
thanks 🙏🏽
You should teach classes for wheelies. 🎉 good job man.🎉
thanks! maybe i will do classes 👀
This fire
appreciate it bro 🔥
Shit happens feel better bounce back bro
I can wheelie for a really long time and even standing wheelies I am scared for a one hand tho any tips ? And do I need to shift up and keep my foot and the shifter up? Can it damage the bike ?
my best tip for one hands is like you said shift up and keep it up to hold yourself up that way you won’t fall back or slide off the bike and you also wanna be a little bit past balance point cuz it allows you to coast rather than having to hit the gas
Do you need to let the clutch out while you are dropping the bike down from the balance point?
And how far do you go with shifting 3,4 gear?
2 stroke*
on 2 strokes i usually wheelie in 2nd gear and you don’t really need the clutch unless you’re trying to scrape
4 years and I can only pop it up for a couple of seconds
it definitely makes a difference learning on pavement, if you’re doing it in the dirt it’s often very uneven and makes it very hard to learn. try the tarmac it may be easier for you!
Thanks I will try that@@MalachiJetter
i learn on a slope, u get the tire up easier, balance point easier, and the fall wont hurt as bad.
Hey man, im learning how to wheelie yz250 i can wheelie for a good 7 seconds but im chasing it clicking through gears mid wheelie so ,yk how to get more control of the wheelie?any tips
check out my how to wheelie a two stroke video i explain in there how to get comfortable dropping back
hey bro your vids are awesome. what was ur first bike u learned o wheelie on?
thanks i appreciate it, my first bike was a 2021 YZ-250F i learned how to ride on it and i learned how to wheelie on it
@@MalachiJetter good stuff. Trying to do the same but with a 450f 🫠. It ain't easy at all with thst crazy powerband. I stsrted doing all types of stunts like 13 years ago on a 50cc scooter. I stunted on 4 stroke scooters as well. No that I just hit 30, it ain't so easy anymore. Especially trying to get used to the rear foot brake
I learned to shift gears with the wheelie, but to this day I still can't get the angle high enough and I don't touch the brakes too much, which means I still haven't learned the brakes properly. Is there any good tip on how to increase the angle and start working on controlling the brakes?
i have two “how to wheelie” videos on my channel where i explain it in depth, either one of them will be able to help you out a lot
@@MalachiJetter I've seen both of your videos already but I already know how to pop the clutch I'm almost sure I'm already reaching the balance point but I still haven't learned how to get to a high angle and play with the brakes I can send you a video of me doing Wheelie maybe take a look and you can help me
I want to learn to do wheelie slowly and not always chase the gas to stay in the wheelie do u understand?
im getting better on wheelie but im still dont getting high angle
What tune do you run for the wheelies ?
stock map or a track map
what half helmet do you use?
all i know is that it’s a german half cut helmet, idk what brand it is or anything
Praise God your leg is ok
🙏🏽🙏🏽
Post more broooo 😂 I beg
new videos every sunday 🔥
My problem is I don’t have anyone I know who can wheelie to tell me what I’m doing wrong or what I need to fix so mine is goin very slow and I’m still workin on my slow wheelies
i had the same issue, i didn’t know anyone else who knew how to wheelie when i was leaning. you’ll get the hang of it 💯
Is dry shifting the bike bad for it bro????
nah i’ve been doing it for a long time and haven’t had any transmission problems at all
you started on a yz250f right?
yeah
ima ride with you one day
fasho
what state you in? 🗺️
Week 3 I started to coast and hand drag
that’s good asl for 3 weeks🔥
I rode 24h straight and learned fast as hell on my 250. The day after I was standing on the seat
damn bro you learned fast as shit😂
@@MalachiJetter I still can’t scrape tho. I tried 2 times and end up looping both
be a little more aggressive with the brake once you get past balance point that might help
@@MalachiJetter I know only reason I loop cuz the back wheel bounces
whats your helmet called?
it’s a german half cut helmet
Hey bro I’ve bin trying to wheelie for a while now but I’m scared to go far back and I’m finding it hard to use the break and I can go for a shot amount of time and can change gears but just really want to learn the break how do I set my mind to use the break?
pop it up and just immediately slam it back down with the brake. do it about 200 times and that’ll get the break engraved in your mind
Alright thanks
When you pop the clutch does that burn out your clutch
no it doesn’t, riding the clutch is what will burn it out
Alright thanks
When you scrap do you pull clutch on a 2 stroke
personally i do but some people dont
@@MalachiJetter when do you engage the clutch just as it drops back and then jump on the brake ?
@ozbulitsinces1996 yeah pretty much but if you get on the brake too hard you won’t drop far enough back to scrape
Bro said “I’ve only been riding for three months” HE HAS A VIDEO LINKED TO THIS ONE THAT SAYS 2 YEAR WHEELIE PROGREISSINH
i posted that short over 2 years ago. this video was just posted like last month
@@MalachiJetter shorts weren’t even out 2 years ago but ok
@@Wheetlelol one google search will tell you that youtube shorts came out on july 12th, 2021. which is almost 3 years ago
@@MalachiJetter dang time flies I guess
Noob here… always been scared as soon as the front wheel comes up…
i’ve found that the only way to get over that fear is to just keep doing it even tho it’s scary
whats the helmet called?
it’s a german half cut helmet
4 months drop back 14 months, feel better bro........
thank you 🙏🏽
1 years
Could you recommend a motorbike to learn how to do wheelies?
yz250f 🔥 or yz 125
@@MalachiJetter thank you so much; keep in mind that I am 5.8 tall, am i suitable?
yes you would fit fine on either of those
@@MalachiJetter I thank you infinitely, I will opt to buy one of these, I think I'll throw myself into the yz 125, greetings from Italy 👋
@dariofaedo9232 what part of italy are you from? i have family in naples
Is that a 125?
