I love how you said that you hoped this video made us not want to buy what's in your house but declutter our own. Your videos ALWAYS make me go clean something out and, more importantly, keep me from bringing more in. It's not about the things, but the whole feeling! Thanks for sharing!
Yesss, show is the cabinets and drawers! 😂 So appreciate you sharing a "real" home and not an influencer home. Makes me feel so much better and it's why you're one of the few people I follow for minimalist inspiration. Would love to hear more about your thoughts on homeschool supplies. That is one of my areas of difficulty when it comes to decluttering. The stress of which is exacerbated by living in a 700sqft home. Thanks for sharing!
Your home is wonderfully simple. I love it. I'm 60, living in my 35th house. My husband is now retired from the military but over those years we never stayed in one house long. I realized early on that the "dream home" wasn't something I'd have necessarily. I've realized that a "dream home" to me wasn't the physical home but the emotional home. Thank you so much for sharing your life with us. You're an inspiration to me.
Best home tour ever! You have given me strength to lower our toys even more for my 1 toddler and to stop looking for new toys alot. Also you were one of/the 1st person to show me minimalism and peace of Christianity and I am currently trying to practice both now after seeing such peaceful homes and families like yours. I'm not super crunchy with no TV or scratch made food everyday but I'm able to make the videos fit for my family ❤ Thank you
@madisungray I've been making better choices but we did change 2 things. My spouse got his own vehicle since we have alot of appts and I'm selling our giant sectional that covers the living room to a smaller one so I can enjoy the space with my toddler when indoors since he barely stays in his room. Other than that I've been more content and less shopping 😅
I swear 3 hours ago I was rewatching your empty house tour and hoping you would a actual one for this house. Yay so exciting!!! Your videos are my fav, I don't even mind rewatching them all, they're so calming and always get me back to my base line of slow living when im overwhelmed.
Same!! I rewatch them all the time! And they help cut through all the other noise saying we need this or that to make our lives better. When in reality, we just need less.
This is so helpful. By some really insane circumstances, COVID, and caring for my mother before she passed, we ended up in our dream home. I love our location and life, but the clutter keeps some major joy at bay. I feel so stuck in the mess, and am trying to make a dent in it day by day. Thank you for this reminder. (Also a reminder that the dream house doesn’t fix everything).
I would really love to see what you got your kids for Christmas vid for this year! I love that your walls arent crammed packed with furniture and thing after thing after thing. We can feel the calm through your video. I'd also like to see more content on how you homeschool as a minimalist. My stacks are out of control! 🙈 Merry 🎄 Christmas!
You are absolutely performing a ministry. You, along with a few others have absolutely changed my life. I am a stay at home, homeschooling mom of 3. I am learning more each and every day, but I am passionate about minimalism and what it can do for families… it has already changed mine so much… and your content is a blessing to me. Thank you for what you do. ❤
Thank you for this updated video, Ive been rewatching your older videos for inspiration. I love the peace and calmness in your video, and showing what is important (or not). Looking forward to your future updated wardrobe video, Ive been decluttering my wardrobe this past week, and just packed away my summer clothes. So just have my 10 winter items hanging, it makes such a difference, to seeing the space and able to breathe, I need to declutter more of what I’ve packed away.
Madi • some of the statements you made in this video echo where I am currently. I often struggle to “live life” and enjoy until I feel like my home is in a perfect state. I often rid items just to go out and look for the “perfect” things and then wonder why my house is still cluttered. And thank you for the reminder that I don’t need to look for things to buy that I see in your home rather just declutter mine. Life starts now, today with where I am and I get to enjoy the process with my kids and husband. It’s crazy to me how this can be a struggle and I need reminding often.
Resonated heavily with the beginning. If we are desperatebto move, where ever we move aint gunna be good. Its the whole 'whereever you go, there you are' concept. Love the 'your life is only as good as your mindset part too '
The first video I ever watched from you was your previous "everything I own" home tour. It was so inspirational to me and started me off on my own journey to simplify our lives and our home. I have learned so much from you in all of your videos (over time I have slowly watched them all!) and appreciate the way you share your passion and pieces of your life with us. I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas together.
To anyone watching, I promise there’s no such thing as a dream house. There may be houses you like better or aspects you like better, but no matter where you live, you’ll find stuff you don’t like or want to change. I’ve moved lots of times, I finally own now, and I’m in the nicest home I’m ever lived, and there are still things I’d love different. Making your current space a home instead of a house is the best thing you can do instead of wishing for the next place.
So fun seeing how your home has evolved over the years. I’m sure there are things about it that drive you crazy, but from my perspective it is gorgeous and I love all the old house character!
Madi, you’ve made another one of my favorite videos!! You do such an amazing job at curating a home that’s so cozy, calm and functional. Your videos inspire me every single time and more often than not I stop what I’m doing and declutter another space in my home. Your content has transformed my life, my family’s life through slowing down and simplifying. It makes me so happy you’re doing what you love and what you love is changing lives, especially busy overwhelmed moms like myself. Thank you as always. 💕
This is truly another amazing video. You inspire authenticity because you lead by example. You should be really proud of yourself. You have changed my life for the better. Also, I saw many comments ask about showing the kid's bedrooms. I actually love that you didn't show their rooms. What a terrific way to maintain their privacy and show respect for them. ❤️
I loved that you mentioned professional organizing. I have always thought this was the path I was suppose to take in life. I've always been an organized and tidy person. Even growing up. I made my bed and tidied my bathroom everyday before school. I was a dream child for my mother. Now that I live a more minimalist lifestyle, I cringe at the thought of people hiring professional organizers to come organize their crap. I've been asked many many many times from friends to help them organize but I just cant! I strongly feel that minimalism would benefit every single human being on this earth. YUP I said it!
I would love to hear you talk about talking to your kids about minimalism and slow living...I am sure they have friends who don't live the same way with excess toys. Helping encourage a less is more mindset for children, especially when it is not the "norm". I know you mentioned a bit in your Xmas Give Less video.
thank you for the updated tour! i must admit I am particularly attached to the cinematic quality of your previous home tour video from a year ago. it’s still my most rewatched video❤️
Thanks for sharing, Madi ☺️ I never miss a video. We are still trying to buy a new home but will definitely buy your course then. My daughter is 17 and I’m holding her so tight right now as she enters adulthood. I’ll carry your ideas with me all throughout life and share them with my daughter along her journey.
I have probably watched this video like 900 times 😂 I adore minimalist home tours and yours is perfect!! ❤ I love your style! It’s so warm and cozy and I too just love that vibe in my own minimalist home!❤
Do you have extra dishes/silverware that you stow away somewhere for when you host family or guests? I love the idea of simplifying our mugs, especially 😅 but I also know when we host, a lot of coffee is served.
Love this video, Madi! Thank you for another classic! I’ve been working my way through all of your videos, as I declutter my house. I just take you right along with me on my tablet, and I get after it! I also scored a huge wool rug for my living room from a friend, and I can never go back! It adds texture and “life” to my home, the same way quality pottery pieces do, and I love how you said in this video that the things you do keep (like the pottery and rug) really get to shine. It’s so true! Can’t wait for your TH-cam course to come out! Thank you for all you do.
Thank you for sharing your home and ideas with us. Very inspiring. I started watching you a while back and it’s really nice to see how your channel has grown 😊. Keep up the great work.
We didn’t have a ton to begin with, but we recently donated a bunch of our kids toys and our 6 year old was actually excited, haha. The kids get overwhelmed with too many options and tiny pieces and parts too.
Hi Madi, I have been watching you for years, just changed my TH-cam. I have 4 girls, 6 and under, and absolutely love your videos! I have watched them all multiple times. Your videos resonate with my soul, and remind me what my true values are!
Thank you for sharing your home with us. I found it really inspiring to see how you talked about it. Would you be willing to share what curriculum you use for your kiddos? I feel like we have similar values and so I'd be so grateful to know as I'm looking for curriculum right now. Thanks for all you give here Madisun!
Thank you for the house tour. It looks so easy and simple, which I love. I like the idea of being content even if we are not living in our dream house.
Hi, I pretty much never comment on videos, but I just wanted to say that I only found your channel some days ago, but I'm really enjoying it so far and I can't wait for more! Keep it up! ❤ P.s. Your house is so beautiful and welcoming.
Where do you file all your paperwork /Mail Drop station etc? Do you pack away out of season clothing? Where do you store that? I find that with 5 kids and running a business, shoes, clothes, toys and paperwork all get out of control!
I love your videos! I will write more tomorrow on my laptop over my phone! I rent too and I am in San Francisco as I have rent control! I have a 600 square foot studio apartment on the top floor with an additional great 12’ outdoor deck outback of my kitchen! I have the back door open with an animal screen hanging with the middle magnets to the floor of the outside to keep bugs out. Yes, I live alone, my choice and I am 67 and have lived here for 20 years! I have an amazing view of all of Pacific Heights, a tall full tree outside reaching up here with hummingbirds and finches!! If I could slice my apartment off the top of my building and put it on a flatbed truck and move it to land in a forest with a river flowing in front (I need water near by like I have now, 2 minutes from the GG Bridge/bay) it would be a dream! I would have my deck outside, fire pit, grass to ground in etc! I think your family could really do a Tiny House all one floor and have a loft for storage with a sliding pocket ladder to keep the kids from climbing up! Check out these amazing homes!! I am so addicted to watching these videos! If you can afford a spot of land you can have a custom made one for a lot less than buying an actual house! Check out Tiny Homes on TH-cam. Not 300’ for a family of 5 and a dog but you can customize the square footage!! Even at a 1,000 square feet on a plot of land is better priced than buying a convential house!! I will send you the ones I watch tomorrow. ❤🌹
Can you please add links for the mason jars and the "Tupperware" you use? I know they are not all created equal and I am in the market for nice stainlesss steel or maybe glass food storage and I don't know where to begin because there are just thousands of brands and styles! please help me lol I trust that you really use these items and can attest to their quality!
Love this so much, especially the toy section. Would you say the approximate number of toys was the same when they were younger? Mine is just two with one on the way and I try and foster independent play but he gets bored so I rotate toys which then turns into storing more and more, seems like an endless cycle!
I knew when I saw this video I was 100% going to watch it (let’s be honest, I watch all of Madi’s videos), but I had put it off till today because I had a feeling this video would make me motivated to declutter and I just wanted to be lazy for a few more days! 😅
We rent too and I’m always having to stop myself from buying things to make the house what I want, cause honestly if the foundation isn’t your style no amount of stuff will change that, well for me personally. You just end up frustrated all the time and dragging to the next place that looks different with stuff that doesn’t fit in the new place😅 so we also keep the minimal approach too😊. Btw we also have our bed up next to the wall😅 we have teenagers so they get the bigger rooms 🤭. You’re not alone, honestly owning a home seems to be fading away further, we save for a deposit and then house prices increase so we save more 🤦♀️ constant cycle.
Very nice. I can relate about the being content with the home even if it is not perfect and not really somewhere you want to still live in. I have been in the same home for sixteen years and we moved in here when I was pregnant with our second child. It is a two bedroom apartment in a two family house. Now we have three children and it is getting cramped as it is small as it is. I love my home but I am ready to move on. I am content, but didn't think we'd be here this long. Anyway, I loved your video and found it fun.
I can relate. Our house is outdated-not terribly but it is an older home from the 1960’s, so it could use some updates. I’ve really had to work on contentment especially seeing such beautiful homes online and even friends houses! But the reality is, it works for our family and our mortgage is pretty low compared to others with newer homes! So we are very blessed.
Madisun💖. Earlier I was thinking of you and hoping for a new video! Your videos bring me so much joy and peace, lovely home thanks for sharing. God Bless you and your family💖💖💖💖💖🙏 Ps can you link your beautiful dress?!
Hi! Always love your videos. What do you suggest I do for a VERY sentimental 8 year old who won’t give away toys that he doesn’t play with. He has an emotional attachment to a lot.
When you live in a « no winter country » I think it’s easier to play outside… In Canada, we have a cold winter and a lot of snow. We need way more clothes!!!!!!
There IS an extreme minimalist lady called ExtremeMinimalistInCanada that goes into detail about her wardrobe/home and what she did with her young kids. I think it entirely depends on the type of clothing you own, if you have an outside job, if you have a car or live real close to decent transport and if you just have 5 thin socks of 2 thick socks etc.
@ you’re absolutely right! Being minimalist with 4 kids here is a huge challenge because, in winter only, they each need 2 snow pants (one is always wet…), 2 pairs of mittens (school requirement), etc. Our wardrobe is empty on summer and full on winter. And I don’t talk about sport equipment (skating, skiing, etc.). But we love winter and we enjoy it every day we can.
@catherineaube2367 so maybe don't 'go extreme' in those areas and try in other places. Like, cooking for example. Or bath products. Or toys. Or digitally. Some might joke I hoard kids books for my one kiddo but eh. It's better than just giving him the television or games on a screen all day. I've been around a lot and most extreme minimalists either have a car, live in a warmer climate or are fine with lots of screen time.
I love your house tour, I'm learning so much from you! ❤ I wanted to ask if you have any TV show recommendations for kids (3 years old). My daughter doesn't watch much, but when she does, I'd love for it to align with a slower, more peaceful lifestyle.
Hi! Sorry to butt in on your comment, but I highly recommend Little Bear here on TH-cam! It’s a classic and so soothing. My kids love it and it’s not overstimulating like most shows.
Yes to the above comment! I’m also going to butt in here lol! In addition to little bear, my four year old has loved “Guess how much I love you” (based off the kids book with the little nut brown hares) on Amazon Prime, since she was 2 yrs old. So slow and peaceful, nature based, with no bad attitudes! These are the only two shows she likes to watch when we do have some screen time.
Classic or even the one after that of Thomas The Tank Enginge. Their scenes are between 3 and 7 secs long compared to 1-3 with newer shows. BLUEY is quick but reliably relatable and enjoyable for parents. Peppa Pig books are simple and great, but the show isn't so much. They are the only things my toddler watches on DVD on a normal TV because we are trying to reduce TH-cam and steaming use.
Very comfortable and pretty home. Your home has about the same amount of furnishings, decor etc as my home. I don’t consider our homes as minimalist. Its the average amount for a family. When l think of the concept of minimalism it is the essentials in belongings. Spartan with furniture, decor, clothing. I feel like 90% of 'minimalist' content creators just whack that word in by justification - 'minimalism is a spectrum' mantra.
Hi! Where did you get that amazing lantern? The one on your fire place? Love all your content. It’s helped me declutter my world and brain. #workingmama Ha!
I respect the minimalist people but I love to be maximalist . My home is very clean, everything is in the ríght place but I love to decorate it with all the good things that has something special for us. My daughter’s art pictures. My husbands art, and my art too. We are an artistic family and we feel so happy and blessed at home with plants, art and beautiful things that have a special value for us ( no expensive things, but sentimental). 🙏❤️
@@MadisunGrayI appreciate the fact that you regard their privacy as being important. I’ve unsubscribed from some channels as I believe children should be protected.❤ thank you.
So honestly you do not have a desire to shop for a piece off clothing here and there. Or do you shop seasonally and that is what you use to the next season?
I love how you said that you hoped this video made us not want to buy what's in your house but declutter our own. Your videos ALWAYS make me go clean something out and, more importantly, keep me from bringing more in. It's not about the things, but the whole feeling! Thanks for sharing!

Hahaha tarryn thank you 🥹
“it kind of just is what it is right now” ugh if this isn’t the most refreshing statement on contentment and loving your life anyway 🥹🤌🏼🤍 love you

I am so glad to be back on TH-cam after a long while away and being inconsistent, so glad you’re here too! 💛
Where do you file all your paperwork /Mail Drop station etc? Do you pack away out of season clothing? Where do you store that? I find that with 5 kids and running a business, shoes, clothes, toys and paperwork all get out of control!
Fun, thanks Madisun!
Your video doesn’t make me buy more stuff it makes me want to chuck out all my stuff that I don’t need or want.
I love your simple and nice home.🤩
You are the best as usual ❤
Beautiful home. Loved it! 😍
❤️
In search for some similar bedding colors! Where is the duvet and pillow cases from? Used to have all white but wanting to add in some earth tones!
You are radiant.
Id love another makeup skincare tour
i love that dress where is it from? i plan on having another baby soon and this one looks so cute with your baby bump ❤
Beautiful home 🏡 😊
I knew when I saw this video I was 100% going to watch it (let’s be honest, I watch all of Madi’s videos), but I had put it off till today because I had a feeling this video would make me motivated to declutter and I just wanted to be lazy for a few more days! 😅
looool the close up in Juney
so passive aggressive on my part lolol
I love your dress. Do you know where you bought it? Thank you!
Not trying to materialistic, but where did you get the makeup holder in the bathroom? The wooden one.
Hi! Always love your videos. What do you suggest I do for a VERY sentimental 8 year old who won’t give away toys that he doesn’t play with. He has an emotional attachment to a lot.
Could you film a what I got my kids for Christmas video? ❤
@@tatianamarti1214 Thanks I will check that 🥰
@@tatianamarti1214 thanks 🙏🏼 I will check them 🥰
Classic or even the one after that of Thomas The Tank Enginge.
Is that dress from indigo Luna? I looked on their website and couldn’t find it!
What kind of cookware do you use?? I want to cut out alot of mine, this video speaks volume to me! Thank you!
So glad! I just use ordinary glass and a couple xtrema pans
I have the same west elm sofa. Have you washed your pillow covers in the washer? I’m wondering if it messes them up or changes the color.
Do you still have all the kids in your room? How has the transition been with a newborn and the kids sleep?
I was also going to ask that
It looks like there are bunk beds in their bedroom room now, you only catch a glimpse of it for a second.
They do all sleep in our room but I didn’t show their beds for their own privacy , they have beds in our room. 😊
@ how has it been with a newborn? Could you share a video on sleep and newborn and co sleeping and all that
@@MadisunGrayI appreciate the fact that you regard their privacy as being important. I’ve unsubscribed from some channels as I believe children should be protected.❤ thank you.
Love the house tour, what curriculum do you use for math and readying with you kids?
Also curious!
Love!!!!!
Nice
Where are the stainless steel cups from? I want to make this switch from plastic!
Where did you get those bowls in the opening scene? I love the size and look of them!
Etsy 💛 a woman who’s shop is called birdmans home I believe
Hi! Can you please tell me where you got the white baskets in your kids toy cabinet? Thanks!
the dollar section at target years ago
What curriculum do you use for math and reading? My daughter is six, almost 7, and we haven’t used a curriculum so far. 😊
So honestly you do not have a desire to shop for a piece off clothing here and there. Or do you shop seasonally and that is what you use to the next season?
Where are your kids rooms & beds?
Why do you never show your kiddos bed? Are they in your room?
