Love your videos so much! You are an inspiration!! I’m trying to find the video where you talk about the illustrated books your daughter makes. My daughter wants to draw on a tablet and wanted to show her that video but can’t find it anywhere 😩 Which video do you show the books your daughter made with illustrations? I have a 5th grader and am trying to inspire her 🤩
@@brittanyolga oh cool! What do you use for the free tutorials? And the video wasn’t specifically showing her artwork. You were just showing all the work she does and you featured one of her books. I thought it was so great!
Great video dear!! With IEW did you move on to Yr 2 level A or skip to year 1 level B? We are definitely going to try a few of your recommendations this coming 😍🥰
This brings back so many good memories of homeschooling my own children. My youngest daughter graduates this year. She did high school at our local public school and she rocked it. Our homeschooling years and faith/church involvement gave her the roots she needed to “succeed” in that environment. Praying you through this time in your educational endeavors.
We switched to Math U See for pre Algebra this year and I am so glad we did! Our previous curriculum introduced a lot of pre algebra at a faster pace and it overwhelmed my two oldest daughters. Slowing down with MUS has been wonderful. They are grasping the concepts so well now.
Great year!! How did you use Generation Genius? Did you just watch some videos or did you do the worksheets they have and experiments? I've been looking at it for next year.
I'm so impressed with how much your 5th grader accomplished during your school year! Holy cow! Especially with being mama to a toddler and little as well. I can really tell how much you try to instill joy into what you guys are learning, and not just checking off a box to "complete" a subject. These curriculum wrap ups I find so helpful in choosing what to look for in the next school year. I just did mine and we'll also be moving on from Wordly Wise, and Beautiful Feet didn't work for us either (Learning Character Through Literature.) I found IEW to be extremely intensive and though it was so thorough and really elevated my 4th graders writing skills, I was bummed we didn't get through any literature guides.I just couldn't find the time in our school days to fit them in. I'm going to be checking out the literature singles you mentioned to see what works for us in our upcoming school year!
you covered so much! this was super helpful. The heart and soul study looks wonderful; totally want to try it. I read that book to my kids and hardly could get through it and the artistry is incredible.
Thanks for sharing. Just fond your channel and love that you've stuck out homeschooling and definitely not a newbie anymore :) I have a rising 4th grader and 3rd grader and wondered if it is too early to use IEW level1A i for them? if so, would TGATB creative writing and/or Brave writer darts work for this year and then IEW 1A next year? thanks
I love your commitment to challenging your kids and switching these out when they don't work. Great update. We own Reading Detective got it back in January and will start in the summer. My kids also disliked Wordly wise even though I thought it was great. I have Word roots in my cart on Christian books too.
This was such a helpful review! I am still looking at options for next year but IEW is high on my list. I might also check out the Reading Detective book! We did the Oh Feeedom curriculum for my son’s 5th grade year & we loved it so much! I can’t wait to revisit it when my middle son hits grade 5 in 2 years.
I enjoy all your videos and follow you ;) Thanks for sharing. Our daughter hated lit guides but after seeing your video, I’m tempted to try them again. I also have a channel mainly about homeschooling and it’s fun to connect with likeminded homeschooling mommas.
I appreciate your review so much! My youngest will be going into 5th this next year, so this was all very helpful to me as I begin the planning process! You are doing a GREAT job, mama! ❤
Thank you for sharing this I love when you share the history , science and geography journal it gives me ideas on things I can do with my own child love them ❤❤❤❤thank you for sharing God bless !
We saw the same thing with Saxon and the retention being spotty. This makes me feel less crazy. I’m still struggling to decision on math, but MUS has been very solid for us to this point.
I remember you created a page in your planner with pictures of the girls. Did you do that on the sabbath week? I love the memories you captured and I’m hoping to do this next year!
Hi, I’m a new homeschool mom. 😅 can you please make a video on how you got started. Did you sign up for one big online program and then branched out to your own curriculum? I love the way you go your child’s speed and manipulate the curriculum for your daughter. I want that lol. I’m from Texas and I’m sure it’s different in each state but how would I start. Who would I reach out to or what should I sign up for? Help lol Thank you so much for the videos ❤
Thank you for your sharing your experience! I've watch two of your videos! I have a teen that isn't getting the accommodations he needs at school, so we will do partial homeschool for 9th grade Language arts and Social Studies. He, like many boys, have difficulty with writing (he's an avid reader, spelling and composing are harder). He also needs explicit grammar and foundational writing support (dysgraphia, impairment in written expression and some other diagnoses, ADHD and ASD). Your reviews have me excited!
Thanks for sharing. I had my daughter watch the video where your daughter shared her IEE flow. It motivated her. Cuz she has been unmotivated to do her work. So thank you to you both. Got a question for you. Can you do a video on how you assign books for independent reading? I know there are required readings with a specific curriculum. However, I think you mentioned few times that she had extra reading. Thank you.
❤ your review and summary. I am so encouraged by you..your level of commitment, challenging your girls while making sure its fun, trying new ways even when scary. I am here for it. 🎉 Kudos

I never made a specific video on her illustrations for her creative writing but she uses ProCreate and does tutorials online for free. ♥️♥️♥️

Thank you for that review. It has giving me some great ideas for next year.
Did you use a teachers guide for the Core knowledge and Generations Science? Are they open and go?

Hi, appreciate the reviews thank you. The books you listen to on Audible, did you get a chance to read them?
Do you have a video on Rod and Staff?
Which vocabulary program will you be using in the new school year?

I love Rod and Staff English!! Even if you don't do all the questions, it is so solid! Thanks for sharing :)
Great video! You’re doing such an amazing job with ur girls ♥️♥️♥️
Definitely not too long. It was great.

Instead to briel student planner , we used Google classroom, I can put videos ,fun stuff, also projects and messages by day.
We saw the same thing with Saxon and the retention being spotty. This makes me feel less crazy. I’m still struggling to decision on math, but MUS has been very solid for us to this point.
We LOVE Rod & Staff English too. I don’t hear people rave about it, but it’s so good! X

Love this! Thanks for sharing. What do you use to test your kiddos at the end of the year?
