Infrared Spectroscopy is Analytical Technique used for Analysis of Organic compounds with functional groups. To record IR spectra using IR spectrometer ( It has two types instruments: Dispersive Spectrometer and FTIR Spectrometer) it requires sample preparation. In this video Detectors used in IR spectrophotometer, thermal detector and photon detectors including bolometers, thermocouple, thermistors, thermopile, golay cell, photoconductivity cell and semiconductor detectors are emphasized.
IR spectrometer is used to determine IR or infrared absorption frequencies or vibration frequency of stretching and bending vibrations in IR spectroscopy. The technology is useful for the students of Pharmacy, Analytical Chemistry and Organic Chemistry .It is useful for the competative exams like GPAT, NIPER-JEE, GATE, CSIR NET.
