Yes it is a shame that for the same amount of money the insurance company has been paying for electric wheel chairs. And the scooter is much better to control and not tip over on the curb like I did and had to wait for help
I just buy mine used. I always buy the exact same chair so when they start wearing out I can cannibalize them for parts for my other chair. Most things on the chair i use are pretty simple to fix. I'm ambulatory so i fix my own chairs. For anything complicated I have a place i use that can say, replace a motor. Generally though, I'm getting these used for around $300 so if a motor goes out or the computer has issues, i just save the good parts and throw the chair away.
@@rainncorbin8291 That would be the best way if Medicare won't pay for one. I bought a used chair because it would benefit me more than the chair Medicare paid for. I paid just under 3K. That's been 6 months ago. The only thing I needed to change was the seat cushion cover. I need one that I can slide on and the only ones I can find are cloth. I tried a local upholsterer and that turned out to be wasted money as well so that chair just sits there. It's maddening to say the least.

I am looking for a chair that will work indoors and out, but be light weight. The home is an older home with in-door/out-door carpet. Every light weight chair I have tried just spins on the carpet and gets no traction. The doors in the house are 24 inches clearance., so it has been difficult to match a chair. The Aetodor I have is jerky when you start to move and difficult to navigate in a narrow hall, and a bit heavy. Basically looking for a motorized transport chair for my mother.

There really aren't any power wheelchairs that can go up and down three to four inches. I was able to place a rubber ramp I got from Amazon to get up a four inch threshold into my house. Power chairs tend to be narrower than standard wheelchair so most doors are wide enough.
Which travel electric wheelchair is most durable as I am planning on international travel next year unfortunately most countries don’t have ADA taxis available like in the USA. For weight around 330

I have a 9 year old daughter and want to be able to take her places like the zoo, parks, and museums. I can walk about 100 steps before my leg hurts too much to put weight on it. I weigh 220#.
