Sadly, the Wild Thornberry murals have been taken out of the main building and a majority of the inside has been repainted. So sad to see so many childhood memories fade away :(
+The Orlando Seeker When they took down the murals. It happened between October-ish of last year and February 19th. A guy by the name of BrightSunGaming uploaded a video exploring the inside and you can see where the elevators once were and where the murals were as well.

This was originally a Holiday Inn that opened in 1999, then was given the Nickelodeon treatment in 2005. It should be nice for this property to return to its roots. I'm guessing this refurbishment is being made to compete with a proposed Great Wolf Lodge that may be built across I-4 from Disney.

I am a Florida resident and have taken my kids here many times over the years and have fond memories.My kids are older now but we were talking about going for my daughters 20th birthday because it's been a few years and just for old times sake. Upon trying to google the Nick hotel we realized that it is no longer the Nick hotel and all the Nickelodeon stuff is gone. I wish I would of known this was coming because although it was dated with a lot of older Nickelodeon props, I thought maybe it would just get eventually get updated with newer show props. I Definatley didn't see this coming and it would of been nice to get one last visit in before they did all the renovations. Well, at least we have plenty of photos and videos of our time there. Sad to see it gone:(

nickelodeon went down hill..the actors and actresses look like corny vine stars, and are not humorous at all..like..the amanda show, drake and josh, and all that..are still funny..and can make adults laugh..but these new shows are stinkers tho..boring..cheesy....the only thing decent they are holding on to for their life is sponge bob squarepants...its really sad to see them get rid of the whole slim thing and all of their cool logos...its like all of the personality and color has been completely sucked out..really miss all of the awesome skits and shit...icarly was the last decent show that still had that drake and josh/ amanda show vibe to it.

I went there in the year 2008 (I was about 5 I think) and I had a SpongeBob themed room (which was my second request, my first was Rugrats because I LOVED (and still love) that show. I got to eat breakfast with the characters, get slimed at the water park, and it was a lot of fun. I was hoping to go back and maybe get a Hey Arnold! Or Rugrats themed room the next time up went but, oh well. Most new Nickelodeon shows aren't very good anyways (TMNT, Miraculous Ladybug, and Harvey Beaks are the current exceptions). The time capsule is going to nick studios in California. This is really depressing, I went there as a young child with my family and it was a blast. Now it literally looks like a ghost town.
Teen Nick's The SPLAT just teased a possible reopening of the first Nick Studios. To be honest, the place looks like it could easily be refurbished and turned into a 90's Nick nostalgia place.
I went here about a year ago and the mall was completly packed when I went and there were 100s of people at the pool it sucks to see this place is dead
I did the DCP between January and May and passed by this resort a couple of times. I didn't even know it existed until I passed it, but it looked so rundown. I was really surprised by the state it was in (of course, this was probably during construction). I feel like between the resorts at Disney and Universal, this just wouldn't be a good competitor. Plus Nickelodeon just doesn't seem very relevant anymore. The last good show was iCarly and it went off the air about 2 years ago, I believe. It is sad that the time capsule is probably going to have to be moved a second time. Probably not what they were hoping for!
