Think I heard you say you put a quart of oil in your transmission. 4 spd should have only 24 ounces of oil maximum. Reason being too much oil will cover edge of main seal when bike is on sidestand. Also too much oil will bubble out that little hole in vent screw on cover. 24 ozs. Only.
Usually I see people instal the seal on the spacer and then instal onto the trans together I’m guessing with this spacer you need to install onto the trans first then the seal ?
Looks good except for the silicon on the outside of the seal. The instructions on a semi trailer wheel seal installation says "DO NOT use silicone on the outside of the wheel seal. Wheel seals and your tranny seal is basically the same.
@@IdleHands I don’t remember seeing that in the video, I will look at it again. Is the O ring something I need to hunt down? Or the machinist will provide one?
@@IdleHands I didn’t understand before about the groove, but now it makes sense that space between the main shaft and the spacer. I guess that’s AMF LOL!!!
Agreed my buddy just gave my this one that’s why I used it. But it is nice to have it set to the perfect depth. Just got this project running and no leaks thus far.

I just replaced 4th gear with the o-ring on it. Its a lot more expensive but as long as it works ill be happy.

Do you know if the Jims 2256-1 tool is still available anywhere? Their catalog has a similar looking one P/N 2256 but it is for 5 speeds.

thx for the video, can you still have the spacers done for customers?
Last I checked the guy still makes them on eBay.
@@IdleHands curious, the grove in the spacer, nothing goes in it? That grove just retains oil from the tranny? Thank you again for your response!

@@IdleHands perfect, thank you!
Did it leak after you put back in
Lots of leak free miles. Been riding the bike a lot lately and hasn’t leaked a drop.
Do you offer rebuild services?
No
Jims great stuff but some are way overpriced imo like that 2256-1 tool - $100 - just get a piece of 1" conduit
