Nah. What Spawn did was basically like gluing a ribeye to someone and then throwing them in a cage with a lion. "Technically" he didn't do the deed but...come on. Lets not kid ourselves. It was also clearly cruel. Spawn could have ended him in a millisecond. But instead he purposely made things slow and painful for him. I mean, I don't really care. To give him some credit, this was Spawn at his weakest and most vulnerable state. Hell's soldier isn't like most superheroes that are just permanently strong all the time even when he sleeps. His powers come from a very finite source that he regularly needs to recharge much like a phone battery or a gas tank. At his peak, he can handle demon lords, but when he's running low on juice like he is here... well, Kletus gets a lucky shot.
